Lonsdaleite Estate, also known as Villa Larix, is a private residence in St. Moritz, Switzerland—not a confirmed $185 million listing today. That figure belongs to historical listing coverage: Forbes.pl reported in July 2024 that the home remained Dominika Kulczyk’s property and was not for sale then. No later confirmation establishes its current ownership, sale status or price.
What is Lonsdaleite Estate?
Villa Larix, called Lonsdaleite Estate in some coverage, sits on the slope of Mount Suvretta in St. Moritz, in Switzerland’s Engadin region. Forbes.pl described it in July 2024 as a roughly 5,000-square-meter residence spread over seven levels, with about half the home underground. The name “Lonsdaleite” refers to a diamond polymorph; “Swiss Ice Palace” is a descriptive headline phrase, not an established official name.
Its reported size varies by source. Forbes.pl gave an approximate area of 5,000 square meters in 2024, while a 2018 roundup by The Plan Collection reported 43,000 square feet. These are different published estimates, not a surveyed measurement; the sources do not clarify whether they count below-grade space on the same basis.
Is the $185 million price current?
No current asking price or verified sale price is established by the available reporting. The $185 million figure appeared in older property-listing coverage and was associated with a reported 2017 listing or estimate. The Plan Collection’s 2018 roundup, updated in 2023, presented it as an asking price. Forbes.pl’s July 2024 account treated that figure as historical and reported that the sale story had subsequently faded.

Forbes.pl quoted Katarzyna Sokołowska, identified as media contact for Dominika Kulczyk, on July 13, 2024: “Rezydencja »Villa Larix« wciąż jest własnością Pani Dominiki Kulczyk. Nie jest wystawiona na sprzedaż” (“The Villa Larix residence is still the property of Ms. Dominika Kulczyk. It is not for sale.”). That is a statement quoted by Forbes.pl and applies to the date it was made; it does not confirm the property’s status in 2026. No later owner statement or authoritative current listing is established here.
Forbes.pl also reported a CHF 100 million build cost, attributing the figure to Fanzun’s website. That is a reported construction-cost figure, not an independently verified current valuation or sale price.
How was the residence designed and built?
Forbes.pl identifies Swiss architectural practice Fanzun as the designer and London-based DAR Architects as the project executor. It reports construction from 2011 through 2016. The design was shaped around the alpine setting: the report describes the building plan as resembling a six-sided ice crystal, with changing spatial perspectives and natural materials. Forbes.pl attributes that design description to Fanzun AG.
The reported seven-level layout is partly embedded in the Suvretta slope, putting about half the residence below ground. That arrangement helps explain why press accounts emphasize dramatic glazing and interior views alongside extensive subterranean amenities. The sources provide descriptions rather than an independent architectural inspection.
