Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSet delivery alerts in the system that owns the current delivery record: the supplier’s order application, the carrier or fleet tracking platform, or the construction site’s logistics calendar. Turn on the events that matter—confirmation, dispatch, ETA changes, delays, approaching arrival and completion—then send them to named people who can change access, unloading or the work sequence.
An alert rule cannot create a reliable live ETA by itself. The supplier, driver, fleet system or site team must provide fresh order, route or vehicle-status data. If no live feed exists, use an agreed manual update process and label it as such rather than calling it real-time tracking.

Start with the source of truth for each delivery
A construction project may have several dates for the same load. The purchase order can show a promised shipping date, a supplier portal can show a confirmed order, a fleet system can calculate a truck’s arrival, and a site logistics calendar can show an approved booking slot. Those records are related, but they are not interchangeable.

Supplier or order application
A supplier-controlled application can show order confirmation, order status and, for some materials, the next truck’s estimated arrival. Heidelberg Materials’ OnSite example uses order cards with confirmation status and visibility of the next truck’s estimated arrival. This route is appropriate when the supplier owns the delivery information and your team needs updates for that supplier’s orders.
Fleet or delivery-notification platform
A fleet platform can issue dispatch notices, calculate a route-based ETA, report a delay reason, and notify contacts when a vehicle approaches or completes delivery. Upper describes ETA recalculation from route and driver progress, with notifications for dispatch, ETA, delays, geofence events and completion. This is the strongest path when the supplier or contractor operates the fleet and supplies current vehicle data.
Site logistics booking platform
A site logistics system coordinates delivery slots, zones and access. It can alert trade partners when a booking changes, is approved or is rejected. HammerTech’s construction logistics example supports booking-change notifications. A changed booking is not proof that the truck’s live location or arrival estimate changed; it describes the site appointment.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Procurement or supplier-status monitor
A procurement-facing monitor can capture a supplier acknowledgment, a revised shipping date and a stated delay reason. Lumatrak’s construction material example addresses supplier acknowledgments, ETAs and delay notices. A revised shipping date is a commitment update, not necessarily a minute-by-minute arrival estimate.
Match the alert path to the decision your team must make
| Alert path | What the team can learn | Best use | Limit to state clearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supplier or order app | Order confirmation, order status and, where offered, the next truck’s ETA | Supplier-controlled loads such as ready-mix concrete | It covers that supplier’s orders and requires the supplier’s service access |
| Fleet or delivery-notification platform | Dispatch, route ETA, delay reason, revised arrival and proof of delivery | Loads moved by a supplier or contractor fleet using the platform | It requires current fleet and driver data plus setup by the delivery operator |
| Site logistics booking platform | Slot changes, booking approval or rejection and site-coordination updates | Busy sites controlling time slots, zones and access | A booking alert does not itself establish a live vehicle ETA |
| Procurement or supplier-status monitor | Acknowledged ETA, delay reason and new shipping date | Teams tracking purchase orders and supplier commitments | A new shipping date may not be a live arrival estimate |
When comparing systems, check five things: where the event originates, how fresh the underlying data is, whether the time is an order date, a booking slot or a vehicle ETA, whether a reason accompanies a change, and whether the notice is tied to the correct project and order.
Collect the delivery details before creating a rule
- Record the identifiers. Write down the supplier, purchase-order or order number, material, project and site, planned delivery date, delivery window, and the portal, app or carrier record that owns the status. This prevents a notification from being attached to the wrong phase or site.
- Confirm the account and project. Verify that the person configuring alerts has access to the correct project, supplier account and delivery record. A valid rule on another project will still produce a convincing but useless notification.
- Ask what updates actually feed the record. Find out whether the ETA changes when a load is dispatched, when a driver moves, when traffic changes, when a route is recalculated, when a supplier manually edits the order, or only at a scheduled checkpoint.
- Identify the delivery window and the decision deadline. Note when the gate, crane, pump, laydown area or receiving crew must be ready. The alert threshold should protect that operational deadline, not merely mirror a generic calendar reminder.
Upper describes route and driver-progress updates; Heidelberg Materials describes traffic-aware truck ETA in OnSite; Lumatrak describes supplier acknowledgments with ETAs and delay notices. Those are different data feeds, so ask the operator which one applies to your record.
Turn on the event types that support action
Enable only events the chosen platform actually offers. A compact rule set usually covers the delivery lifecycle in this order:

ETA creation and ETA change
Send the first ETA when it becomes available, then notify recipients when the estimate changes. Require the notice to show the new time and, if provided, the reason. An updated date from procurement should be labeled as a revised shipping or commitment date, while a route-calculated time should be labeled as an arrival ETA.
Delay or reschedule
Enable a distinct delay event where available. A delay notice should identify the affected order, the revised date or time and the stated cause, such as traffic, weather, a routing change or supplier rescheduling. Upper says its delivery notifications can include an updated ETA and the reason for a delay.
Approaching or arrival
An approaching or geofence event helps the receiving team move from planning to immediate preparation. It is useful only when the platform receives location or progress data; an order-only system may not offer it.

Completion and proof of delivery
Completion closes the delivery loop and helps prevent a crew from waiting for a load that has already been received. If the platform supports proof of delivery, route that record to the office or procurement contact as well as the site team.
Choose recipients by the action each person can take
Do not send every event to an undifferentiated mailing list. Name roles and a backup for each action:
- Site supervisor or foreman: prepares gate access, traffic control, unloading space, lifting equipment and the receiving crew.
- Project manager: changes sequencing, coordinates affected trades and communicates a material-related schedule shift.
- Procurement or supplier contact: follows up on a missed commitment, requests a revised date and records the supplier’s explanation.
- Receiving or logistics coordinator: manages the slot, route inside the site and handoff documentation.
- Backup contact: receives the same critical delay and arrival notices when the primary person is absent.
Upper describes multi-recipient notifications for project managers, supervisors, foremen and receiving crews. Use that model, but keep the list current: a person who left the project should not remain the only recipient of a time-critical alert.
Select channels people monitor in the field
Use the channel supported by the account and watched during the delivery window. Upper lists SMS and email tracking notices; Heidelberg Materials describes app notifications for upcoming order confirmation. A site may use one channel for immediate delay alerts and another for a record of the event, but do not assume that every platform supports SMS, email and push notifications simultaneously.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Configure the rule step by step
- Open the delivery record. Navigate to the supplier order, dispatch record, truck assignment or site booking that contains the date and project. Start from the individual record when possible so the rule inherits the correct order and site identifiers.
- Open notifications, tracking or delivery-alert settings. The label varies by product. Look for event subscriptions associated with the order, load, route or booking rather than a general marketing-notification screen.
- Select the available lifecycle events. Choose confirmation or dispatch, ETA changes, delay or reschedule, approaching or arrival, and completion. If an event is not offered, do not imply that the platform monitors it.
- Set the scope. Apply the rule to the specific order, project, site or supplier stream. Confirm that a portfolio-wide rule will not mix deliveries from different jobs unless that is intentional.
- Add recipients and channels. Enter named site and office contacts, select supported channels, and verify phone numbers and email addresses. Include a backup for critical deliveries.
- Require useful content. Where settings permit, include the order number, site, material, new ETA or date, delivery window, event type and stated reason. A message that says only “status changed” forces the recipient to search for context.
- Save and confirm the subscription. Check that the rule is enabled and attached to the intended record. Some supplier services require an account invitation or confirmation before app notifications appear.
- Document the operating rule. Record who owns the alert, who escalates a missed checkpoint, and where the revised ETA and reason are logged. This turns a notification into a repeatable site process.
Make live ETAs credible by checking the data behind them
An ETA is only as current as its last status input. Ask the delivery operator which of these inputs it uses:

- Supplier confirmation or manual status change
- Dispatch time and assigned vehicle
- Driver progress along the route
- GPS position or geofence entry
- Traffic conditions and route recalculation
- Weather or road disruption entered by dispatch
- Rescheduling by the supplier or site
Heidelberg Materials says OnSite accounts for traffic in truck ETA. Upper says its system recalculates from route and driver progress. Those examples show why two systems can display different times for the same load: one may be reflecting a supplier commitment while the other is calculating an arrival from a moving vehicle.
When a notice arrives, inspect its timestamp and status source. A time changed at the moment a dispatcher edited an order is not equivalent to a time recalculated from a truck’s current position. Preserve both when necessary: keep the supplier’s committed date for procurement follow-up and the fleet ETA for immediate site preparation.
Set an escalation rule for a late or unstable ETA
There is no universal construction threshold that fits every delivery. A five-minute shift may matter for a concrete pour but not for a pallet of fixings. Set the checkpoint from the site’s access, crew, equipment and material constraints.
- Define the trigger. Examples include an ETA moving beyond the booked delivery window, a reschedule that affects the next trade, or no dispatch/status update by an agreed time.
- Assign the first call. The site contact calls the supplier or dispatch and confirms the load, location, revised time and cause.
- Protect the operation. Notify the affected crew, release or retain unloading equipment as appropriate, and adjust the sequence or access plan.
- Escalate the commercial impact. The project or procurement contact records the supplier response and requests a new commitment when the change affects a milestone.
- Log the outcome. Store the revised ETA, reason, person contacted and next checkpoint against the delivery record.
Upper and Lumatrak describe notices that can include change reasons. They do not establish a standard lateness threshold, so your project must choose one and document it.
Use a manual fallback when no live feed exists
Some suppliers provide only an acknowledgment, a dispatch message or a revised shipping date. You can still create dependable operational discipline without mislabeling it as real-time tracking.
- Agree on update points. Use at least order confirmation, dispatch and any changed delivery date. Add an arrival call for high-consequence loads.
- Name the sender and recipient. Specify which supplier or dispatcher sends the update and which site role acknowledges it.
- Use one shared record. Log the original window, each revised date or time, the reason given and the next follow-up.
- Set a no-update checkpoint. If the expected update has not arrived, the site contact calls the supplier rather than waiting indefinitely.
- Label the information correctly. Call it a supplier-confirmed date, dispatcher update or manual check-in. Do not describe it as a live vehicle ETA unless location or progress data supports that claim.
Test, maintain and audit the alert setup
Run a low-risk test
Use a test event if the platform offers one, or verify the subscription on a live, low-risk delivery. Confirm that each recipient receives the message on the selected channel, that the site and order identifiers are correct, and that the timestamp reflects the event rather than the time someone opened the notification.
Review after a real change
When an ETA moves, check whether the notice includes the new time, reason and affected delivery. If the alert contains only a generic status, add a manual step for the missing detail or ask the operator whether a more specific event can be enabled.

Troubleshoot common alert failures
No alert arrives
- Confirm the rule is enabled on the correct order, project or booking.
- Check that the account has access to the supplier or fleet service.
- Verify the recipient’s phone number, email address and app permissions.
- Ask whether the supplier actually generated the event; a system cannot notify you about data it never receives.
The alert arrives, but the ETA is stale
- Check the event timestamp and the last driver, GPS or supplier-status update.
- Ask whether the time is a manual commitment, a dispatch estimate or a route-calculated ETA.
- Contact dispatch when the load has passed the agreed checkpoint without a fresh update.
The site booking changed but the truck time did not
Treat the booking and vehicle records separately. Notify the receiving team of the new slot, then obtain a current truck ETA from the supplier or fleet operator. A site-calendar change alone does not establish that the vehicle’s route or arrival time changed.
Too many notifications obscure the important ones
Remove informational events that do not lead to an action, keep delay and ETA-change notices for operational contacts, and route completion or proof-of-delivery records to the office team that needs them. Separate urgent field alerts from archival email where the platform permits it.
Different systems show different times
Compare the meaning and timestamp of each value. A procurement monitor may show a revised shipping date, a supplier app may show the next truck’s estimate, and a fleet platform may calculate an arrival from route progress. Keep the values distinct instead of overwriting one with another.
What accuracy claims do—and do not—tell you
No independently sourced, dated benchmark for construction delivery-ETA alert accuracy is established here. Enmovil’s product page claims “97% ETA accuracy,” but the page does not provide a publication year or methodology. Treat that figure as an undated vendor claim, not an industry statistic or a guarantee for your project.
Actual usefulness depends on the quality and timeliness of supplier, driver, GPS, traffic and rescheduling data; the completeness of your recipient list; and whether someone follows the escalation rule. Measure your own operation by recording the original window, each alert time, the final arrival and the reason for variance.
Examples of a complete alert design
Ready-mix concrete from a tracked supplier
Use the supplier’s order application for confirmation and next-truck visibility. Send app notices to the pour supervisor and receiving contact, and send office notifications to the project manager. If the supplier also provides traffic-aware ETA, use that value for gate and crew preparation while retaining the order’s confirmed pour date for planning.
A contractor fleet delivering framing materials
Use the fleet platform for dispatch, route ETA, delay reason, approaching arrival and completion. Send SMS or another supported field channel to the foreman and receiving crew, with email to the project manager. Escalate when the route ETA passes the booked window or when the vehicle stops updating at the project’s checkpoint.
A constrained urban site with timed slots
Use the site logistics platform for booking approval, rejection and slot changes. Send those notices to the logistics coordinator and trade partner. Obtain the vehicle ETA from the supplier or fleet operator separately; do not infer truck location from a calendar change.
A supplier that provides only commitment updates
Use the procurement monitor for acknowledgment, revised shipping date and delay reason. Set manual checkpoints for dispatch and arrival confirmation. Record each change in one shared delivery log and tell the crew that the dates are supplier updates, not live vehicle positions.
