On the WF45R6100/WF45R6300 front-load family covered by one cited service manual, the outer tub is opened before the inner drum assembly is removed. Find your washer’s complete model code and follow its matching service guide; do not treat another model’s sequence or tool list as universal instructions.
Identify the exact washer before beginning
Find the complete model code on the washer’s rating label, then use Samsung Support for the relevant country or region. Samsung’s support pages associate repair guides and exploded views or parts lists with specific model codes. For example, the Gulf support page for WW80FG3M05AW lists a repair guide and exploded views/parts list; the Ireland page for WW10FG5U34AE lists a repair guide. The listed files carry metadata dated July 1, 2025, and September 18, 2025, respectively.
Use the guide and parts list for the full model code, including any regional suffix. A similar-looking model is not proof that the drum, tub, fasteners, or repair steps match. Check the official exploded parts view before identifying or ordering replacement components.
Understand what “drum removal” involves
The visible stainless-steel drum is the inner drum, housed inside the outer tub. In the WF45R6100/WF45R6300 service manual, access to the inner drum requires prior machine disassembly and access to the tub. The procedure then separates the tub’s front and back before separating the drum assembly and removing the flange shaft fasteners. The manual also describes removing the drum lifters.

That is an example for the models covered by that manual—not a general Samsung procedure. Do not apply its sequence to another washer unless its own service documentation confirms the same construction and steps.
Use the correct model’s procedure and tools
What the cited front-load manual specifies
For the WF45R6100/WF45R6300 family, the tool table lists a socket wrench with a 6-inch extension and 10 mm, 13 mm, and 19 mm sockets. It also lists an open-end wrench, vice pliers, and common tools including a driver, nipper, and long-nose pliers. These are references for that manual’s covered family only; verify the tool requirements in your washer’s guide.

Why the guide matters beyond the fasteners
The manual includes service-engineer safety instructions and warns that standard disassembly diagrams may differ from the actual product. Read the complete model-specific instructions and compare diagrams with the washer before proceeding. If the guide is unavailable, unclear, or does not match the appliance, stop rather than improvising.
Decide whether to attempt the repair
Drum removal is a substantial disassembly task, not a routine cleaning step. The cited example requires reaching and splitting the tub before removing drum components, and the available sources do not establish a complete safety checklist for every Samsung model.

Start with Samsung’s model-specific exploded views and parts list. Those pages do not by themselves establish current inventory, program availability, or Samsung authorization. Confirm the part against the exact model and region before purchase.
