You can dry shoes in a Samsung dryer only if both the shoe-care instructions and your exact dryer manual permit it. If your model supports a drying rack, use it to keep shoes from tumbling: set them on the rack soles down, leave space for airflow, and use the rack-drying cycle or time setting specified in the manual. Do not heat-dry shoes containing materials Samsung warns against, including foam rubber, plastic, or rubber.
Check whether your shoes and dryer are suitable
Start with the footwear care label or manufacturer’s instructions. If they prohibit heated drying, do not put the shoes through a heated dryer cycle. Samsung also warns that heat may damage foam rubber, plastic, or rubber and create a fire hazard. Its Philippines guidance additionally cautions against latex and heat-sensitive adhesives.
Next, check the manual for your exact Samsung dryer model. Racks are supplied only with selected models, and cycle names and settings vary. Samsung’s U.S. support guidance recommends consulting the user manual for model-specific cycle compatibility: Samsung dryer cycles, settings, and features.
Dry shoes on the rack
- Install the rack as directed. Confirm your model supports a drying rack and follow its manual for the correct installation. Samsung recommends using the rack for shoes to help prevent damage: Samsung Australia rack instructions.
- Place the shoes soles down. Set them on the rack with their soles facing downward. Leave room around them so air can circulate; do not crowd the rack. Samsung Philippines gives the same soles-down instruction: Samsung Philippines rack guidance.
- Select the setting specified for your model. Samsung Australia describes Time/Rack Dry for its rack setup, while Samsung Philippines describes Time Dry. These labels are not universal: use the cycle or time control identified in your dryer’s manual.
- Set time according to the manual and the shoes. Samsung advises accounting for the shoes’ moisture and weight. Check them rather than assuming one duration will suit every pair.
Why there is no universal drying time
Drying time depends on the shoes’ moisture and weight, as well as the controls available on your model. Samsung Australia’s regional rack instructions describe a maximum setting of 150 minutes for that rack setup. That is not a recommended duration for every pair or a limit to apply to dryers sold in other markets; follow the instructions for your own model.

When not to use the dryer
- The shoe-care instructions disallow heated drying.
- The shoes contain foam rubber, plastic, or rubber that would be exposed to heat; Samsung warns that heated drying may damage these materials and create a fire hazard.
- The footwear includes latex or heat-sensitive adhesives; Samsung Philippines cautions that heat can damage these materials.
- Your dryer manual does not support rack drying for the model, or you cannot confirm the correct rack and cycle instructions.
Samsung’s Australia guidance is explicitly regional and notes that models, settings, and sequences can differ by purchase location. Do not assume your dryer includes a rack or has the same controls. If you need a replacement rack, first confirm compatibility with the dryer’s exact model and sales region.
