Its defining feature is a dual-outlet fresh-air system advertised to deliver up to 60 m3/h of outdoor air, alongside a claimed 16 dB fresh-air quiet mode and five-layer filtration. The important catch is installation: the 60 m3/h dual-vent configuration requires an additional wall opening, so this is not a simple like-for-like replacement for a conventional split air conditioner.
The reported launch price was 2,499 yuan on JD.com, with a reported government-subsidy price of 1,999.2 yuan. Those were China-market launch figures, not a guaranteed current price or evidence of availability in the United States or other international markets.

What exactly is the Hisense X3 Plus?
The X3 Plus is a China-market wall-mounted split air conditioner designed for bedrooms and other rooms where the buyer wants cooling or heating plus integrated fresh-air ventilation. It is separate from the similarly named X3 Pro, which Hisense lists as another product family.

- 3-in-1 Operation - Enjoy cooling, dehumidifying, and fan mode with our versatile 3-in-1 portable air conditioner
- Dual-Hose Technology - Dual hose technology provides faster, more efficient cooling and consistent room temperatures.
- Inverter Technology - Energy efficient (up to 40% more efficiency)
- Quiet Operation - Leave your dehumidifier running and rest, without being disturbed.
- KFR-26GW/X300U-X1PLUS: the smaller 1-horsepower-class version.
- KFR-35GW/X300U-X1PLUS: the larger 1.5-horsepower-class version.
Launch coverage primarily describes the 1.5-horsepower-class model, for which room guidance of approximately 16–24 m2 is reported. That should be treated as manufacturer or launch guidance rather than universal sizing advice. Climate, insulation, glazing, ceiling height, occupancy and internal heat loads all affect the correct air-conditioner capacity.
See the official smaller-variant listing and official larger-variant listing before comparing specifications or ordering.
How the dual fresh-air vents work
The unusual part of the design is the reported upper-and-lower outlet arrangement. The upper outlet handles normal conditioned-air distribution, while the lower outlet is used for fresh outdoor air. Hisense describes the two outlets as creating a convection cycle intended to improve room ventilation.

The reported fresh-air figures are:
- 40 m3/h in single-vent mode.
- Up to 60 m3/h in dual-vent mode.
The higher dual-vent mode requires an additional wall opening. That opening is a major practical requirement, not a minor accessory detail. It may involve masonry or facade work, waterproofing, insect and rain protection, sealing against drafts and noise, and permission from a landlord, building manager or homeowners’ association.
Do not confuse fresh-air intake with total airflow
Launch coverage reports up to 800 m3/h of total airflow. This is the air moved by the air-conditioning system and is not the same as outdoor-air intake. The advertised 60 m3/h figure is the maximum reported fresh-air volume; 800 m3/h does not mean that 800 m3/h of outside air enters the room.
Actual outdoor-air delivery can vary with operating mode, duct resistance, filter loading, installation quality and other conditions. Room air exchange also depends on the room’s airtightness, the number of occupants and whether stale air has a clear exhaust or pressure-relief path.

In practical terms, the X3 Plus is an air conditioner with integrated, limited-capacity ventilation—not automatically a replacement for a dedicated ERV, HRV or whole-home ventilation system. The available evidence does not establish guaranteed whole-room CO2 control.

What the five-layer filtration system does—and does not—prove
Launch reporting describes a five-layer system involving a HEPA-grade filter, a Hi-CAT nano-catalyst antiviral mesh and layers aimed at pollen and other allergens. Hisense is also reported to claim more than 97% efficiency for PM0.3 particles and 99.99% removal for selected bacteria, including H1N1, E. coli and staphylococcus.
These claims need to remain in context. “HEPA-grade” is not, by itself, a clearly identified independently certified HEPA class. Filter-media efficiency is not the same as clean-air delivery rate from the complete appliance. Results can depend on airflow, filter loading, test method and whether the test concerns incoming air, recirculated air or a particular component.
Likewise, a bacteria-removal claim does not mean that the air conditioner sterilises the room, prevents infection or removes every biological contaminant. The anti-formaldehyde function should also not be read as permanent VOC removal. Heating and airflow may help accelerate release from materials, but source control and adequate ventilation remain important.
The accessible official product-page material confirms the X3 Plus family’s large-fresh-air, clean-air and formaldehyde-removal positioning, but does not clearly provide a complete layer-by-layer filter specification or independent test report. Buyers should ask about genuine replacement filters, replacement intervals and local availability before purchasing.

Is the 16 dB mode genuinely quiet?
Hisense advertises 16 dB operation in fresh-air quiet mode. That is an attractive bedroom specification, but it should be understood as a claim for a specified operating condition—not as proof that the indoor unit is always 16 dB or inaudible.

- Cool Your Space Simply and Reliably: Intuitive electronic touch controls and 6,000 BTU output make this unit easy to operate and effective in rooms of any smaller size
- Adapt to Any Condition Throughout the Day: Four modes — Cooling, Dry, Ventilation, and Fan — plus three fan speeds give you flexible control over your comfort at all times
- Direct Airflow Exactly Where You Need It: Four-way air direction distributes cool air evenly throughout the room, eliminating hot spots for consistent comfort in every corner
- Maintenance Made Easy: Features a washable filter for easy maintenance and long-term convenience, helping keep upkeep simple and cost-effective
- Get Up and Running Without the Guesswork: The included window installation kit provides everything needed for a straightforward, hassle-free setup right out of the box
The available launch reports do not establish whether the figure was measured at minimum fan speed, whether it applies to cooling, heating or fresh-air operation, whether it refers to sound pressure or sound power, or which laboratory standard was used. Outdoor-unit noise may also remain audible even when the indoor unit is running quietly.
There may be a normal trade-off between the quietest setting and maximum cooling or ventilation. A low fan speed can reduce noise while also reducing airflow. Buyers focused on sleep should ask for noise figures at the modes and fan speeds they intend to use, rather than relying only on the minimum headline number.
Other sleep-oriented features include display auto-shutoff in dark conditions, a “Deep Sleep Companion” airflow design and a one-button anti-direct-blow mode. Hisense also promotes remote control and other automated functions, although regional app, firmware and account compatibility should not be assumed outside China.
Installation: the question to answer before buying
Before ordering, confirm that an installer can support the X3 Plus fresh-air arrangement. Ask these specific questions:
- Can the wall legally and structurally accommodate the additional opening?
- Does the installation quote include the second penetration and fresh-air ducting?
- How will the opening be sealed against rain, insects, drafts and external noise?
- Is waterproofing included, and who is responsible if the facade leaks?
- Can the installer service the filters and fresh-air path later?
- Does the outdoor-unit location provide adequate clearance and ventilation?
Renters and apartment owners should obtain written approval before ordering. A low appliance price can become much less attractive once specialist drilling, facade work, sealing and refrigerant installation are included.
Energy and operating claims
The reported APF rating is 5.28, described as exceeding China’s first-class energy-efficiency standard. APF is a rating under a Chinese framework and should not be converted directly into a US SEER2 value or treated as an equivalent international label.
Rank #4
- Dual-Hose Design: Provides faster cooling by eliminating the vacuum effect of standard portable air conditioners. Cool, dehumidify, and fan functions available.
- Inverter Technology: Energy efficient, offering up to 40% more efficiency compared to traditional models.
- Quiet Operation: Achieves a noise level of 42 dB(A) when running in Quiet mode for a peaceful environment.
- Drain-Free Cooling: Operates without the need for draining in cooling mode, simplifying maintenance.
- Easy Installation: Comes with an easy snap-together window kit that fits windows 25" to 50" wide.
Hisense is also reported to claim energy savings of up to 36% through its X-Core inverter chipset. “Up to” savings are comparative marketing claims: the baseline, climate, setpoint, runtime and test conditions matter. APF 5.28 and a claimed 36% reduction are not interchangeable measurements.
Other advertised functions include independent dehumidification, PTC heating, high-temperature self-cleaning at approximately 57°C, anti-formaldehyde “Drying Room 2.0”, an outdoor-unit anti-rust coating and broad temperature-operation claims. These may be useful features, but they do not remove the need for normal filter care, coil maintenance and professional refrigerant-system service.

The reported July 2025 JD.com reservation price was 2,499 yuan. IT之家 reported a price of 1,999.2 yuan after a 20% government subsidy. Subsidies depend on geography, eligibility and policy, so the subsidised figure should not be treated as a universal retail price.
Later official-store results showed promotional signals of approximately 2,099 yuan for a 1-horsepower-class listing and approximately 2,299 yuan for a 1.5-horsepower-class listing. These are promotional China-market signals, not a guaranteed price at any later date.
The available evidence establishes China-market listings through Hisense and JD channels. It does not establish normal US, European or worldwide availability. An overseas buyer would need to verify local voltage compatibility, certification, installation support, warranty coverage, replacement filters and service access. Importing a Chinese-market appliance is not equivalent to buying a locally distributed Hisense model.

| Buyer situation | Assessment |
|---|---|
| China-based bedroom buyer wanting cooling plus integrated fresh air | Potentially compelling if the extra wall opening is permitted and properly installed. |
| Buyer prioritising low night-time noise | Worth investigating, but request operating-mode noise details beyond the 16 dB minimum claim. |
| Allergy-sensitive user | Filtration features may be relevant, but confirm filter specifications, maintenance and replacement supply. |
| Renter or apartment owner unable to alter the facade | Poor fit if dual-vent operation requires a new wall opening. |
| Home with an existing ERV, HRV or dedicated ventilation system | The integrated fresh-air feature may add less value than it does in a room with no ventilation system. |
| Overseas importer | High compatibility and support risk unless local service, voltage, warranty and filters are confirmed. |
| Buyer seeking independently verified air-quality performance | Look for complete test conditions, CADR, CO2 data and filter documentation before relying on the marketing claims. |
Bottom line
The Hisense X3 Plus is notable for combining a conventional wall-mounted air conditioner with a relatively high-capacity integrated fresh-air system and a dual-outlet layout. Its strongest practical advantage is the option of up to 60 m3/h of advertised fresh-air intake, while its biggest drawback is the additional wall opening required for dual-vent operation.
The 16 dB, filtration, bacteria-removal and energy-saving figures are useful headline specifications, but the available evidence presents them as manufacturer or launch-report claims rather than independently verified whole-room results. For a China-based buyer who can support the installation and obtain replacement filters, the X3 Plus may be an interesting bedroom solution. For renters, overseas buyers or anyone expecting it to replace a dedicated ventilation system, the installation, service and performance uncertainties are more significant.
