Eureka called the base “industry’s first,” a manufacturer claim rather than an independently established industry milestone. The model is a 2024 launch, so its specifications and availability should not be confused with newer J15-family robots.
What debuted at IFA 2024?
Eureka announced the J15 Pro Ultra on September 6, 2024, positioning it as its flagship robot vacuum for that year. The launch release said Europe would get it first, with a U.S. launch planned for November 2024. Its headline specification was up to 16,200 Pa of suction, alongside AI obstacle and debris recognition, edge-focused mopping, automatic mop care and the all-in-one station. The distinction matters in 2026: Eureka’s U.S. catalog prominently lists later models such as the J15 Ultra, J15 Max Ultra and J15 Evo Ultra, while the original J15 Pro Ultra’s current U.S. retail status is not clearly established. Eureka’s U.S. product catalog
How the self-cleaning base works—and what it does not do
After washing the robot’s mop pads, the station is designed to deal with residue left in its washing tray. A built-in scraper pushes debris toward a collection area; the debris is dried and then routed into the dust bag during a later cleaning cycle. This automates a messy part of dock care, but “self-cleaning” does not mean maintenance-free. Eureka describes the tray as removable for more thorough cleaning. Sticky residue, larger objects or buildup may still call for manual attention, and hair can remain around the roller ends or other moving parts even when the cutting system works as intended. What FlexiRazor does to wrapped hair
Hair can wind around a robot’s brush roll during a run. When the J15 Pro Ultra returns to its base, Eureka’s FlexiRazor system uses high-density blades that vibrate across the brush to cut wrapped hair into smaller pieces. The pieces are intended to be carried away through the station’s dust-collection path. Eureka’s launch announcement describes 400 blade movements per minute and a 4 mm reciprocating vibration. Cutting is not the same as preventing hair from reaching the brush, its ends, side brushes or bearings. Nor does cutting alone ensure that every strand will travel cleanly through the dust path: clogs or densely packed debris can still require inspection. Eureka’s later J15 Ultra feature page gives a conflicting figure of 10 cm for reciprocating vibration. Because that differs substantially from the 4 mm figure in the J15 Pro Ultra launch material, the two should not be treated as reconciled measurements or silently combined. What Eureka’s 99% hair claim means
Eureka says SGS testing found hair entanglement reduced by up to 99%; its regional launch materials describe test examples involving dog hair and 10 cm human hair. One Eureka page reports 0% entanglement for dog hair and 1% for the 10 cm human-hair example. The company also cautions that actual performance may vary. Those figures describe company-reported test results, not a promise of 99% fewer brush cleanings in an ordinary home or a result independently established across household conditions. A later J15 Ultra page uses “99.9%” anti-hair-entanglement language. That is a separate claim for a later product page; it should not be substituted for the original J15 Pro Ultra launch claim. Hair length, wetness, quantity and the route hair takes through the brush and dock can all affect real-world maintenance.

Other cleaning features and station capacity
Beyond hair management, the J15 Pro Ultra pairs two circular mop pads with ScrubExtend, which extends a pad toward edges, and automatic mop lifting intended to reduce the chance of wetting carpets. Eureka’s IFA materials list a 4 L clean-water tank, a 3.4 L dirty-water tank and a 3 L dust bag. The company says the bag can last up to 75 days under its test and usage assumptions; that is an upper-bound claim, not a fixed household interval. Ownership trade-offs to consider
- Dock space and complexity: Larger tanks and an all-in-one base reduce some routine interventions but require room and add water paths, moving parts and a tray that can need cleaning.
- Consumables: The system uses a dust bag. Eureka’s U.S. catalog lists a J15 Pro replacement bag three-pack under product code R042, but compatibility should be checked against the exact regional model before ordering. Eureka accessories catalog
- Mop and wastewater care: Automatic washing and drying reduce manual mop work, but tanks and wastewater paths still need attention; odor or residue is not ruled out by hot-water washing or drying.
- Carpets and navigation: Check that carpet detection and mop lifting are enabled and working in the relevant app and firmware configuration. Obstacle recognition and mapping also depend on functioning sensors and usable room conditions.
- Liquid messes: FlexiRazor addresses hair on the brush roll, not a robot’s limitations with wet spills or large liquid messes.
How it compares with Eureka’s newer J15 models
Specifications for later models should not be transferred to the 2024 Pro Ultra. Eureka’s current U.S. pages describe different suction ratings and feature sets:

Higher suction figures alone do not establish better cleaning or better value: feature parity, support, consumables and price matter, and the listed Pa rating is not a measure of performance in every mode.
Who should consider it in 2026?
The J15 Pro Ultra remains relevant to households with shedding pets or long-haired residents that want to reduce brush-roll detangling and automate mop washing. It is a more plausible fit for buyers comfortable with a large dock, dust bags, app-based operation and periodic cleaning of the brush and station than for anyone expecting zero-maintenance ownership.
Before buying a used or clearance unit, verify country-specific warranty and support, return terms, replacement-part availability, app compatibility and the condition or inclusion of the ramp, mop pads, roller brush, side brush, dust bag and water-tank components. Current Eureka pages do not establish that the original model is readily available in the United States in 2026, so do not assume a listing for the J15 Ultra is a listing for the J15 Pro Ultra. If a newer model is under consideration, compare its actual included features rather than relying on the shared J15 name.
