How the fragrance system works
The fragrance capsule fits beneath the robot’s magnetic top cover. eufy says the S2 sprays fragrance while it cleans. Installation is described as tool-free: open the cover, remove the protective sticker from the refill and place it in the compartment.
eufy lists three fragrance options:
A refill pack was listed at $26.99, and eufy recommends replacement approximately every three months, depending on use. At that rate, four packs would cost about $107.96 per year, before tax, shipping, promotions or heavier-use replacement.
The feature should not be confused with deodorization. It releases fragrance during cleaning; it does not prove that the robot removes odor-causing compounds, continuously scents a room while docked, or purifies the air. Fragrance may make a freshly cleaned room smell more pleasant, but ventilation and source control remain the solutions for persistent odors.

The same qualification applies to the 30,000 Pa figure. Pascal ratings are manufacturer specifications and are not a standardized cross-brand ranking of real-world debris pickup. Carpet results, edge cleaning, obstacle avoidance, navigation, hair handling and mopping should be judged through independent testing rather than suction numbers alone.
How good is the cleaning performance?
Independent coverage has generally treated the S2 as an impressive, highly capable vacuum-and-mop system. TechRadar’s review praised its overall cleaning capability while identifying the high price as a significant drawback. Tom’s Guide’s review likewise presented it as a feature-rich premium machine but highlighted the cost and reliance on bespoke accessories.
That does not mean every home will see the same result. Before buying, pay particular attention to:
- Hard-floor debris pickup and dried-stain removal.
- Carpet cleaning and how the robot manages its mop around carpet.
- Long hair and pet-hair handling.
- Cleaning along walls and in corners.
- Navigation around cables, toys, bowls and other clutter.
- Noise, water consumption and dock odor.
- How much manual cleaning the roller, tray, filter and dock still require.
Premium obstacle avoidance reduces intervention but does not make a cluttered floor risk-free. Owners should still remove cables, socks, toys and small pet items before scheduled runs.
Price and ownership cost
At the time covered by the supplied product information, eufy’s US product page listed the Omni S2 at $1,599.99. A separate eufy robot-vacuum collection page showed a promotional price of $1,399.99, described as a $200 saving. These figures should be treated differently: the first is the observed product-page price, while the second is time-sensitive promotional pricing. Check the live checkout price, bundle contents, shipping and any regional restrictions before purchasing.

This proprietary-accessory ecosystem is a meaningful trade-off. A buyer who wants the most automated premium system may consider it acceptable. A buyer focused on the lowest cost per clean should compare consumable availability and annual cost before committing.
What is new compared with the Omni S1 Pro?
The S2 retains the premium roller-mop concept associated with eufy’s S1 line. Compared with the Omni S1 Pro, eufy emphasizes HydroJet 2.0, higher stated suction, updated filtration, detangling brushes and built-in fragrance functionality. The S1 Pro remains relevant when it is heavily discounted.
More headline specifications do not automatically establish a better ownership experience. The meaningful comparison is whether the S2 improves cleaning, navigation, hair handling, dock maintenance and reliability enough to justify its price difference. If an S1 Pro already meets your needs, the fragrance system alone is unlikely to justify replacing it.
What maintenance remains?
The all-in-one dock automates several chores, but it does not make the system maintenance-free. Expect to:

- Fill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty-water tank unless using a compatible auto-refill and drainage arrangement.
- Empty or replace dust bags.
- Clean the dock and mop-washing area and allow components to dry as needed.
- Inspect the roller and brushes for hair or trapped debris.
- Replace fragrance cartridges, detergent and other consumables.
- Clean sensors and wheels.
- Clear objects when the robot becomes stuck.
Homes with hard water should also consider mineral buildup in the water system, dock or roller and follow eufy’s maintenance guidance. Multiple-floor homes should confirm map support and whether the dock must be moved. Measure the dock area and required clearance before buying, especially in a small apartment.
Is the fragrance feature useful or gimmicky?
It is best understood as a convenience and ambience feature layered onto a premium cleaning appliance. It may make a room smell fresher after a cleaning run and could help mask the damp or stale smell some wet-mopping systems leave behind. The scent options and integrated installation are convenient if you already enjoy fragranced cleaning products.
There are equally valid reasons to skip it. Fragrance adds an ongoing expense, may be too weak or too strong depending on room size and airflow, and can be unwelcome in homes with fragrance sensitivities. Households with pets, infants or asthma concerns should consider whether scented products fit their needs and should not infer health benefits from the feature. If you prefer unscented cleaning, confirm the current instructions for operating the robot without a refill.
The S2 should therefore be judged primarily as a vacuum-and-mop system. If its cleaning and maintenance performance do not suit your home, a pleasant scent will not repair that weakness.

The S2 is most appealing to:

Verdict
The eufy Omni S2 is a genuinely unusual premium robot vacuum-and-mop system: its fragrance capsule can release scent while the robot cleans.
