ECOVACS introduced two different ideas of robot-vacuum progress at IFA 2024 in Berlin: the DEEBOT T50 family uses an ultra-slim body to reach beneath low furniture, while the DEEBOT X8 family introduces a continuously renewed roller mop for hard floors. The X8 changes the mopping mechanism; the T50 changes where the robot can physically go.

That distinction matters more than the companies’ headline suction figures. The best choice depends on furniture clearance, floor type, carpet behavior, maintenance, privacy, regional availability, and the exact model—not simply whether the box says T50 or X8.

What ECOVACS announced at IFA 2024

ECOVACS presented the DEEBOT X8 and T50 families at IFA 2024 in Berlin, held from September 6 through September 10, 2024. The company’s booth was in Hall 9, stand 405, alongside other ECOVACS, WINBOT, GOAT, and TINECO products.

The principal models highlighted for these two families were:

The X8 received the more ambitious technology pitch because of its new OZMO ROLLER mopping system. The T50 was the more practical design story: ECOVACS engineered a robot approximately 81 mm, or 3.19 inches, high.

This was an announcement rather than a complete immediate U.S. retail launch. ECOVACS later provided U.S. launch context around CES 2025, including the X8 PRO OMNI and T50-related models. Availability and specifications subsequently varied by country and product revision. A German-language announcement also mentioned the DEEBOT N30 family, so the T50/X8 focus here is not a complete inventory of everything ECOVACS showed at IFA.

DEEBOT X8: a different approach to robot mopping

The defining X8 feature is the OZMO ROLLER Water Renewal Mopping System. Instead of relying only on two rotating mop pads or a vibrating flat plate, the robot uses a cylindrical roller that contacts the floor while fresh water is introduced during cleaning.

ECOVACS describes a process in which:

  1. Fresh water is dispensed through multiple nozzles onto the roller.
  2. The roller scrubs the floor while rotating at up to approximately 200 revolutions per minute.
  3. A scraper removes dirty liquid from the roller.
  4. Fresh water is introduced again as the cleaning cycle continues.
  5. The OMNI station washes and dries the roller after use.

The intended benefit is continuous renewal of the contact surface. A conventional mop pad can gradually become dirty as it travels across a floor; the X8’s roller is designed to reduce the amount of dirty water and debris being carried onward. That may be especially useful for kitchens, entryways, and other hard-floor areas where sticky spills are common.

It is not the same as a guarantee of stain removal. ECOVACS’s design claims do not independently establish how the roller performs on dried food, grease, grout, textured tile, thresholds, or uneven flooring. The system also adds components that require care, including the roller, scraper, water channels, dirty-water tank, and drying system. A fresher mop surface can be a meaningful advantage, but it does not eliminate ownership and maintenance work.

X8 specifications: why the numbers need context

The IFA announcement described approximately 4,000 Pa of roller pressure and up to approximately 13,000 Pa of suction for the X8 PRO OMNI. A later U.S. product page lists 18,000 Pa maximum suction, a 200-RPM roller, mop washing with temperature control from 40–75°C, 63°C hot-air drying, automatic dust emptying, and automatic cleaning-solution addition.

The 13,000 Pa and 18,000 Pa figures appear in different ECOVACS materials and should not be treated as directly comparable measurements of the same configuration. They may reflect different regions, launch phases, revisions, or product-page updates. Both are manufacturer claims, not independent cleaning scores.

The U.S. X8 PRO OMNI page also lists TruEdge 2.0 adaptive edge cleaning, AIVI 3D 3.0 obstacle avoidance, AI Instant Re-mop, ZeroTangle 2.0, YIKO-GPT voice control, and camera-based obstacle avoidance. ECOVACS promotes edge coverage as highly comprehensive, but claims such as “100% coverage” should be understood as company or laboratory claims rather than a promise that every household edge will be cleaned perfectly.

X8 model differences

The X8 and X8 PRO OMNI are not necessarily identical products. Launch coverage reported that the Pro model added mopping functions such as instant re-mopping, supported cleaning solution, and used a larger reported 6,400 mAh battery, compared with 5,200 mAh for the regular X8. Exact specifications can differ by market, so a retailer’s complete regional listing should take priority over a family-level description.

The listed U.S. X8 PRO OMNI height is 98 mm. That makes it substantially less suitable than the T50 for furniture with very low clearance.

DEEBOT T50: the ultra-slim alternative

The T50 family’s main innovation is physical access. The T50 PRO OMNI is described as approximately 81 mm, or 3.19 inches, high. ECOVACS achieves the slim profile by embedding its dToF LiDAR and navigation arrangement into the robot’s body rather than using a conventional tall turret on top.

Rank #3
ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni Robot Vacuum and Mop, 15000Pa, Extendable Mop | 3.19" Ultra-Slim, ZeroTangle 2.0 for Pet Hair, TruEdge 2.0 , AI Obstacle Avoidance, Self-Emptying, Hot Water Mop Wash & Dry
  • 𝟯.𝟭𝟵" 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔-𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗠 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗧 𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗨𝗠: At only 3.19 inches tall, DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI reaches under beds, sofas, cabinets and other low furniture where taller robot vacuums may struggle, helping capture hidden dust and pet hair for more complete whole-home cleaning.
  • 𝟭𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬𝗣𝗮 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗦: Powerful 15,000Pa suction lifts pet hair, crumbs, dust and debris from hardwood, tile and carpets. ZeroTangle 2.0 helps minimize hair wrapping around the brush, making everyday cleaning easier for homes with pets and long hair.
  • 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝟮.𝟬 𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘-𝗧𝗢-𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: Clean beyond the center of the room. TruEdge 2.0 dynamically extends the side brush and mop toward walls, corners and furniture edges, helping capture debris and wipe areas traditional robot vacuums can easily miss.
  • 𝗔𝗜𝗩𝗜 𝟯𝗗 𝟯.𝟬 𝗔𝗜 𝗢𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘: Advanced AIVI 3D 3.0 obstacle avoidance intelligently detects and navigates around common household objects such as shoes, cables, toys and furniture, helping the robot clean smoothly through busy homes with fewer interruptions.
  • 𝟭𝟬-𝗜𝗡-𝟭 𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝟭𝟲𝟳°𝗙 𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗣 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚: Enjoy more hands-free floor care with automatic dust emptying, water refilling, cleaning solution dispensing and mop maintenance. The station washes mops with up to 167°F hot water and dries them with 113°F hot air to keep them ready for the next clean.

That can make a real difference under beds, sofas, cabinets, and other furniture. But “slim” does not mean the robot will fit under every obstruction. Measure the lowest point—not the average clearance—and account for rugs, furniture trim, angled supports, uneven flooring, and the robot’s ability to turn once underneath. ECOVACS provides additional slim-robot guidance for this reason.

A low body also says nothing by itself about mapping accuracy or obstacle recovery. Physical reach, navigation quality, object recognition, and the ability to escape when stuck are separate performance questions.

T50 and T50 PRO OMNI differences

Launch coverage reported up to 15,000 Pa suction for the T50 PRO OMNI and up to 12,800 Pa for the T50 OMNI. The later U.S. T50 PRO OMNI materials emphasize:

Suction figures should not be used as a simple ranking. Pa is not a standardized household cleaning score, and results depend on airflow, brush design, floor contact, debris type, and measurement location. A higher advertised figure does not prove better pickup of every type of dirt.

AI, obstacle avoidance, and privacy

Both families use ECOVACS’s AI branding, but labels such as AIVI 3D do not mean that a robot will never get stuck or avoid every object. Cables, socks, toys, pet bowls, reflective objects, dark surfaces, poor lighting, and unusual furniture remain practical variables.

YIKO-GPT is intended to support more natural-language control. The launch material does not establish the complete command set, whether all functions work offline, which languages are supported in every country, or what happens if cloud services are unavailable. Buyers should verify account, language, connectivity, and room-or-zone control requirements for their market.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The U.S. X8 PRO OMNI listing specifically identifies camera-based obstacle avoidance and video-manager functionality. That creates a privacy question separate from cleaning performance. Before buying, check whether the camera can be disabled independently, whether video features require cloud access, where data is processed or stored, and which controls are available in the app and privacy policy.

Dock, maintenance, and ownership costs

OMNI stations reduce daily effort by handling tasks such as dust emptying, mop washing, water management, and drying. They do not make maintenance-free appliances. Depending on the exact configuration, owners may need to clean tanks, filters, scrapers, water channels, brushes, and sensors, and periodically replace consumables.

Official U.S. listings observed on August 16, 2026 showed examples including a $100 T50 accessory kit, a $33.99 T50-family mop, a $24.99 one-litre cleaning solution, a $19.99 anti-tangle main brush, and a $12.99 side brush. A six-pack of listed antibacterial dust bags was shown at $49.98, while another single dust-bag listing showed $24.99. An X8 PRO OMNI accessories kit was listed at $154.95.

What happened after the IFA announcement?

The IFA announcement did not include a complete retail rollout with universal pricing and immediate availability. ECOVACS later used CES 2025 to provide additional launch context for its next-generation robot vacuums.

As of the August 16, 2026 check, the official U.S. X8 PRO OMNI page was marked sold out. An official U.S. ECOVACS page listed the T50 PRO OMNI at $399.99, while a separate T50 PRO OMNI accessories-bundle page displayed $339.00. The lower bundle figure should be verified at checkout: it may reflect a promotion, a different bundle configuration, clearance pricing, or a page inconsistency. Do not compare the two figures without confirming what is included.

Availability is country- and model-specific. A product page without an active purchase path should not be treated as proof that the product is currently obtainable.

Buyer checklist

  1. Measure clearance: Use the lowest obstruction in the room. Compare it with the exact robot height, including rugs and trim.
  2. Map the floor mix: Check hard floors, thresholds, rugs, high-pile carpet, dark surfaces, and whether the mop lifts adequately.
  3. Evaluate messes: The X8’s roller concept is most relevant if sticky hard-floor spills matter more than maximum under-furniture reach.
  4. Assess obstacles: Consider cables, toys, pet bowls, reflective objects, lighting, and whether you are comfortable preparing floors before runs.
  5. Check the dock location: Confirm width, depth, height, access space, tank access, and whether the exact regional configuration supports automatic water refill or drainage.
  6. Review privacy: Investigate cameras, video features, cloud connectivity, account requirements, and app controls.
  7. Price consumables: Confirm replacement bags, brushes, filters, rollers or mop pads, and cleaning fluid before purchase.
  8. Confirm support: Check warranty terms, return windows, local service, and replacement-part availability.
  9. Verify the model: Distinguish X8, X8 PRO OMNI, T50 OMNI, T50 PRO OMNI, T50 MAX PRO OMNI, and regional equivalents.

Which family should you choose?

Choose the X8 direction if hard-floor mopping is the priority, particularly if you value the idea of a roller whose cleaning surface is repeatedly renewed with fresh water. Accept that the robot is taller than the T50, the mechanism is more complex, and current U.S. availability may be limited.

Choose the T50 direction if low furniture is the main problem. Its approximately 81-mm body offers the clearer practical advantage for cleaning beneath beds, sofas, and cabinets. It is the more natural fit for buyers who prioritize vacuuming access, edge cleaning, and a currently listed U.S. configuration over the X8’s roller-mop architecture.

Neither family can be declared a universal winner from launch specifications. The X8’s roller is a meaningful design change, but independent stain-removal, carpet-transition, obstacle-avoidance, noise, and long-term reliability results matter. The T50’s low profile is valuable only where furniture clearance actually limits cleaning.
