Dreame at CES 2025: The X50 Ultra and a Push Beyond Robot Vacuums

Dreame’s CES 2025 strategy went beyond robot vacuums. Here’s what the X50 Ultra, pool cleaners, wet-and-dry vacuum, cordless stick and robotic-arm concept actually represented.

Dreame made a substantial CES 2025 push, led by the X50 Ultra robot vacuum and mop. Its retractable-leg ProLeap system was designed to help the robot cross thresholds and other level changes that commonly stop conventional robot vacuums. But the larger story was Dreame’s attempt to present itself as a whole-home technology company, with products for floors, pools, cordless cleaning and hair styling.

CES 2025 took place in Las Vegas from January 7–10, 2025, after Dreame’s media event on January 6. The event is now best understood retrospectively: what Dreame showed, which products became available, and which ideas remained demonstrations.

The X50 Ultra was Dreame’s headline launch

Most robot vacuums are comfortable moving across flat floors, but door saddles, tracks and raised transitions can strand them between rooms. Dreame’s answer was ProLeap: retractable legs that lift the wheeled robot over certain obstacles.

Dreame’s current product page claims the X50 Ultra can handle obstacles up to 6 cm (2.36 inches). That is a manufacturer-listed maximum, not a guarantee that every obstacle of that height will be crossed. Results can vary with the obstacle’s shape, surface, approach angle and the robot’s traction.

  • 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬: X50 Ultra utilizes robotic retractable legs to conquer door tracks, thresholds, and obstacles up to 2.36 in. It uses shocker absorbers and other innovations to minimize impact and noise to delivery a quieter cleaning experience.
  • 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞: VersaLift Navigation lowers X50 Ultra height to 3.5 in, allowing it to navigate under furniture easily. The AI camera with LED guidance in tight spots ensures precise navigation and obstacle avoidance.
  • 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬: Tackle hair tangles by managing long hairs up to 11.8 in with the new DuoBrush system. Its air duct design flings and sucks up hair while using two separate brushes to provide a quiet, deep clean to floors.
  • 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Up to 20,000Pa Vormax suction is powered by our sixth-generation TurboForce motor, X50 Ultra delivers large pickup, including cat litter, crumbs, and more. Pair standout suction with our quiet-focused fluid-dynamic design for a peaceful, thorough clean.
  • 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬: X50 Ultra extends both brush and mop to reach corners and low spaces under furniture. The redesigned brush minimizes hair tangling, ensuring a thorough clean in areas most vacuums miss.

The X50 Ultra also uses the company’s VersaLift navigation design to lower its profile under some furniture. Dreame currently lists 20,000Pa suction, hot-water mop washing up to 80°C, extendable brush and mop reach, and five cleaning modes. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent measurements of pickup, mopping, noise or reliability. Suction-pressure figures also cannot be used alone to determine which robot cleans better.

Buyers should measure their own thresholds and furniture clearance rather than assume the headline number will solve every layout problem. Narrow metal tracks, slippery surfaces and angled transitions may be more difficult than a broad, square-edged threshold.

Beyond robot vacuums

Pool cleaning

Dreame’s CES materials listed the Z1, Z1 Pro and J1. The Z1 and Z1 Pro were described as cordless robotic pool cleaners, while the J1 was a solar-powered surface skimmer intended for continuous operation.

The CES page showed launch-period figures of $799 for the Z1, $899 for the Z1 Pro and $559 for the J1, but those amounts were explicitly identified as pre-order deposits, not full product prices. Current prices and promotions have changed, so readers should check the official Dreame pool-cleaner collection before buying.

Pool-cleaner suitability depends on pool size, shape, surface, slopes, waterline design and debris load. A buyer seeking floor-and-wall cleaning should not assume a surface skimmer such as the J1 performs the same job.

Wet-and-dry floor cleaning

The H12 Pro FlexReach brought Dreame into the upright wet-and-dry cleaner category. Dreame’s store promotes features including flexible reach, TangleCut hair management and odor-reduction functions. Those remain company claims; the practical trade-off is that a wet dock reduces some daily effort but still requires water handling, cleaning and consumable maintenance.

Cordless vacuuming

The Z30 was positioned as a conventional cordless stick vacuum for users who want direct manual control rather than autonomous cleaning. Dreame’s current store lists 310AW suction and a built-in pet brush. Again, those figures do not replace independent testing of carpet pickup, battery life or noise.

Hair styling

The AirStyle Pro was the clearest category departure. Dreame’s current store describes it as a seven-in-one, air-powered styling kit, extending the company’s “smart living” identity beyond home cleaning.

The robotic arm was not a retail launch

Dreame also demonstrated a bionic multi-joint robotic-arm technology concept. The idea points toward future cleaning robots capable of reaching difficult areas or manipulating objects, but the available CES evidence does not establish that the arm was a consumer product shipping in 2025.

It is therefore more accurate to describe the arm as a technology demonstration, not as a robot that consumers could buy to pick up clothes, shoes or other household objects. The X50 Ultra was the confirmed retail proposition; the arm represented a possible direction for future robotics.

What became available to buy?

The X50 Ultra became a purchasable product through Dreame’s U.S. store. The current official listing has included features such as 20,000Pa suction, hot-water mop washing and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi support. A listed price is only meaningful with its market, date and promotional context, because Dreame’s pages have shown changing discounts and bundles.

The Z1 Pro, H12 Pro FlexReach, Z30 and AirStyle Pro also appeared on Dreame’s official retail pages. Availability, shipping, warranty terms and prices vary by region and can change. The CES announcement itself should not be treated as proof that every product was simultaneously available in every country.

What buyers should check

  • Thresholds: Treat 6 cm as Dreame’s stated upper capability, not a universal result. Check height, width, shape and surface.
  • Furniture: Measure clearance under sofas and cabinets, including trim and the robot’s dock footprint.
  • Wi-Fi: The X50 Ultra’s official page specifies 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Mesh systems using band steering may require a compatible 2.4GHz network.
  • Dock maintenance: Automated mop washing and drying can reduce routine work but add water, power, cleaning-solution and replacement-part costs.
  • Obstacle avoidance: Threshold climbing does not mean the robot will reliably detect every cable, sock, fragile object or pet accident.
  • Privacy: App-connected mapping and camera features deserve separate consideration. Dreame highlights UL Solutions cybersecurity certification, but certification does not eliminate every privacy or connectivity risk.
  • Pool fit: Confirm whether a model handles the pool floor, walls, waterline or only surface debris, and check retrieval behavior and warranty coverage.

Why the CES appearance mattered

Dreame’s CES 2025 presentation mattered for two reasons. First, ProLeap addressed a real weakness in autonomous floor cleaning: robots still struggle when a home is divided by uneven thresholds. Second, the breadth of the lineup showed an ambition to compete across more of the home-care market rather than remain known primarily for robot vacuums.

Dreame reported that its January 6 media event attracted 82 press members and influencers. That is a company-reported attendance figure, not independent evidence of consumer adoption or product success. Similarly, any CES award claim should be attributed to Dreame’s announcement rather than treated as an independent performance verdict.

The company’s CES booth was promoted as Booth 52632 in the Venetian Expo, Level 2, Halls A–D, during the January 7–10 show.

Bottom line

Dreame really did make a splash at CES 2025, but the significance was broader than a new robot vacuum. The X50 Ultra was the concrete retail launch, and its retractable-leg design targeted a useful household problem. The pool cleaner, wet-and-dry vacuum, cordless stick vacuum and hair styler showed Dreame’s wider expansion, while the robotic arm remained a forward-looking concept rather than a product consumers could buy.

For shoppers, the right question is not whether Dreame’s CES claims sound futuristic. It is whether a specific product fits the home, pool and network it will actually use—and whether the convenience justifies the maintenance, consumables and changing regional support terms.
