Dolby and LG introduced LG Sound Suite ahead of CES 2026, presenting a modular home-audio system built around the H7 soundbar and Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Buyers can start with the soundbar, then add wireless M5 or M7 speakers and a W7 subwoofer as their room, budget, and listening needs develop.
The system is designed to make speaker placement more flexible than a conventional wired home theater. However, “wireless” does not mean power-free, and compatibility depends on the exact television model and the chosen setup.

What LG Sound Suite is
LG Sound Suite is a family of four components rather than a Dolby-branded speaker range. Dolby supplies the Atmos FlexConnect technology, while LG manufactures and sells the hardware:

- H7: the central soundbar and the simplest way to begin.
- M7: a larger wireless speaker for surround expansion.
- M5: a smaller, lower-cost wireless speaker.
- W7: an 8-inch wireless subwoofer.
LG and Dolby describe the H7 as the world’s first soundbar powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. That is a claim from the two companies, not an independent industry certification. The system was announced in December 2025 and demonstrated at CES 2026, held January 6–9, 2026. LG announcement · Dolby announcement

Why Dolby Atmos FlexConnect matters
Traditional surround systems work best when speakers are placed at defined distances and angles. That often means running speaker cable, positioning rear speakers carefully, and accepting that a room’s furniture or architecture may not cooperate.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is intended to make that arrangement less rigid. The system identifies speaker locations and adapts its audio rendering to the room layout and listening position. LG and Dolby say compatible speakers can be placed on shelves or in corners rather than installed in one prescribed arrangement.
That does not make room acoustics irrelevant. Software cannot turn a compact speaker into a large one, remove every reflection, or guarantee the same imaging in every seating position. Nor does an advertised channel count prove that the result will equal a carefully installed receiver-and-speaker system with discrete channels.

H7 soundbar
The H7 is the logical starting point for someone who wants better TV sound now but may expand later. LG lists Room Calibration Pro, Sound Follow technology, Wi-Fi streaming through the LG ThinQ app, and AI-based sound processing among its features.
It is also the component that makes the system easier to use with non-LG televisions, because LG says the H7-led Dolby Atmos FlexConnect arrangement works with any TV over HDMI. That statement should not be confused with universal direct wireless speaker-to-TV compatibility.

M7 wireless speaker
The M7 is the more capable expansion option. LG’s published specification describes it as a 2.1.1-channel speaker with a built-in woofer and three full-range units. It is aimed at buyers who want a larger surround module or have a room where the compact M5 may be insufficient for their preferences.
M5 wireless speaker
The M5 is the less expensive route into physical surround expansion. It is a smaller 1.1.1-channel design with a 3-inch woofer and dual tweeters. One M5 should not be treated as a complete pair of rear speakers: LG specifies that two or more M5 units are required for Dolby Atmos support.
W7 wireless subwoofer
The W7 adds bass rather than functioning as another Atmos-rendering speaker. It still needs a nearby power outlet, despite communicating with the rest of the system wirelessly. That distinction matters when planning furniture placement and electrical access.
How the modular upgrade path works
“Modular” means that the system can grow over time. It does not mean that every component operates independently in every mode or that arbitrary third-party speakers can be added.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Practical configurations include:
- H7 alone: the simplest soundbar-first setup.
- H7 plus W7: a soundbar system with dedicated low-frequency support.
- H7 plus two M5 speakers: the lower-cost physical surround route, with two M5 units required for Atmos support according to LG.
- H7 plus two M7 speakers and W7: a more substantial surround arrangement with added bass.
- H7 plus four M5 or M7 speakers and W7: LG and Dolby’s advertised larger configuration.
LG and Dolby describe the maximum system as reaching 13.1.7 channels with the H7, up to four M5 or M7 speakers, and the W7. This should be read as an advertised processing or system configuration, not as evidence that it has the output, separation, headroom, or precision of a discrete 13.1.7 receiver-based theater.
There is also an unresolved discrepancy in LG’s published configuration counts. U.S. and Australian materials describe up to 27 configurations, while LG’s global newsroom page says 50. The available announcements do not explain whether the difference reflects regional combinations, counting methods, or later product changes. The safest conclusion is that Sound Suite supports dozens of combinations, not that one exact total is settled.
TV compatibility: the detail buyers must check
Sound Suite does not require an LG television in every arrangement, but the answer changes depending on how the system is connected.

H7-led HDMI setup
LG says Dolby Atmos FlexConnect works with any TV when the H7 is the lead device and is connected through HDMI. This is the relevant option for owners of non-LG televisions or LG models without the required direct wireless features.

Direct TV-to-speaker operation
Direct wireless connections between Sound Suite speakers and a television require a compatible LG TV. LG’s current U.S. information limits direct Dolby Atmos FlexConnect support to selected 2025 and 2026 models, with restrictions that can depend on the model and screen size. Listed 2025 examples include the OLED G5, C5, CS5, and QNED9M, while 2026 support is limited to selected OLED and QNED models.
Do not assume that any LG OLED supports every Sound Suite feature. Before buying, check:
- The exact TV model number.
- The TV model year and screen size.
- Whether direct speaker-to-TV operation is required.
- Whether the H7 will instead be the system’s lead device.
- Whether each wireless speaker can be placed near a power outlet.
LG’s current Sound Suite page is the appropriate place to verify model-specific compatibility before purchase.
Calibration and smart features
LG names several features intended to simplify setup and improve consistency:

- AI object separation: is intended to distinguish voices, music, and effects.
- App and streaming control: the H7 supports Wi-Fi streaming through the LG ThinQ app, while the M7 specifications list several major streaming and casting platforms.
These are LG’s stated product capabilities. The launch materials do not provide independent laboratory measurements showing how accurately the system localizes objects or how much the calibration improves performance in different rooms.

At the listed U.S. prices, the advertised large setup with an H7, four M7 speakers, and one W7 would total approximately $3,199.94 before tax:

- 7.1 Channel
- 580 Watts

- Meridian Audio Technology
- High Res Audio (24bit / 96kHz)
- H7: $999.99
- Four M7 speakers: $1,599.96
- W7: $599.99
That is a calculation from individual list prices, not an official bundle price. A lower-cost H7-based system can be expanded gradually, which is one of the platform’s main advantages over buying every component at once.
LG also advertised a U.S. TV-and-Sound-Suite promotion observed August 18, 2026, scheduled to run through September 6, 2026, with savings of up to $400 on eligible combinations. That dated promotion should not be assumed to remain available after its stated end date; check LG’s current offers for any replacement promotion.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWho should consider LG Sound Suite?
It makes sense for buyers who:
- Want a premium soundbar first and an upgrade path later.
- Prefer wireless signal transmission to running speaker cable.
- Have an open-plan or awkwardly shaped room.
- Want to experiment with speaker placement rather than follow fixed rear-speaker positions.
- Own, or plan to buy, a compatible LG television.
- Value app control, streaming features, and a unified LG ecosystem.
It may be a poor fit for buyers who:
- Want the cheapest way to improve TV audio.
- Already own a high-end AV receiver and passive speakers.
- Need guaranteed support for every DTS format or broad third-party interoperability.
- Want to reuse arbitrary speakers from other brands.
- Expect wireless speakers to work without nearby electrical outlets.
- Prioritize reference-level output, maximum headroom, or precise discrete-channel imaging.
- Own a non-LG TV and specifically want direct TV-to-speaker FlexConnect operation.
How it compares with the main alternatives
A conventional premium soundbar is simpler if the goal is better TV audio without building an ecosystem. It may also be less expensive than buying optional expansion modules.
A Sonos-style wireless theater platform is more attractive to households already invested in a multiroom ecosystem and interested in distributing audio around the home. Its priorities are different from LG’s TV-specific integration and Atmos FlexConnect placement model.
A Samsung-style bundled Atmos package may suit buyers who want a soundbar, subwoofer, and rear speakers packaged together from the beginning, rather than purchasing components incrementally.
An AV receiver with passive speakers remains the more suitable approach for enthusiasts who prioritize discrete-speaker performance, upgradeability, repairability, broad format support, and control over individual components. It generally demands more installation effort, cable management, and room planning.
The practical verdict
LG Sound Suite’s main innovation is not that it makes physical speakers unnecessary. Its appeal is that Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is designed to make their placement less demanding, while LG’s modular lineup lets buyers spread the cost of expansion over time.
The H7 is the sensible starting point for buyers who want a premium soundbar today. Add the W7 when deeper bass matters, and choose two M5 or M7 speakers—not one M5—when the goal is a genuine surround expansion. Before ordering, verify the exact LG TV model if direct wireless TV-to-speaker operation is important.
For a flexible, ecosystem-based upgrade path, Sound Suite is a meaningful alternative to a fixed wired theater. It is not a universal replacement for a carefully designed receiver-and-speaker system, and its advertised channel count should not be mistaken for a performance guarantee.
