No. Samsung says you cannot change the direction a washing-machine door opens. Door-reversal instructions apply to select Samsung dryers only; they are not washer instructions.
Can a Samsung washer door be reversed?
No. Samsung US Support states, “You can’t change the direction of the washing machine door.” Samsung Ireland likewise says door reversal is offered for select dryers, not washing machines or washer-dryers. Those statements answer the washer question; neither source provides a washer-door reversal procedure.
Samsung Community gave a model-specific answer for the WF45K6500A on January 3, 2023, saying the door could not be reversed “to help prevent possible water leaks from the door area.” That is the community responder’s explanation, not a general engineering statement from a Samsung manual.
If the problem is a nearby dryer
Some Samsung dryers can be set to open in the opposite direction, but availability and the method depend on the exact model. Samsung’s dryer instructions do not apply to washers.

- Find the full model code on the dryer’s identification label.
- Open the user manual for that exact model and market, and confirm that it supports door reversal. Samsung says the steps vary by model.
- Follow only that manual’s procedure. Samsung US’s support procedure specifies unplugging the dryer and using a number 2 Phillips screwdriver; that tool and procedure are for the dryer example, not a washer.
A Samsung US catalog from 2022 lists reversible doors for certain dryer variants, including DVE50A8600 and DVG50A8600. This is a dated US example, not proof that every Samsung dryer—or a current model in another market—has a reversible door.

What to do when a washer’s fixed swing gets in the way
- Consider whether the washer can be repositioned to give the door clearance, while preserving the required connections and installation clearances in its manual.
- Review the laundry-room layout or appliance placement if the door blocks a walkway, cabinet, or adjacent appliance.
- Before buying hinges, a replacement door, a seal, or an adapter, ask Samsung or a qualified service provider whether a model-specific, manufacturer-supported option exists. The cited Samsung guidance does not establish a washer-door retrofit.
