Istanbul’s Çamlıca Radio & TV Tower is both a working broadcast facility and a public observation attraction on Küçük Çamlıca Hill, on the city’s Asian side. Its enclosed decks look across the Bosphorus toward Istanbul’s European and Asian sides. The tower is 369 metres above ground level; its operator gives a separate total structural height of 387 metres when the underground structure is included.
Where is Çamlıca Tower, and what does it overlook?
The tower stands on Küçük Çamlıca Hill in Üsküdar, on Istanbul’s Asian side. Its elevated observation decks offer views over the Bosphorus, the historic peninsula and the city on both continents. The setting gives the building its role as a landmark at the meeting point of Europe and Asia, while its primary purpose remains communications infrastructure.
The official address is Küçük Çamlıca Mahallesi, Çilehane Caddesi, Oyma Sokak No:1, Üsküdar / Istanbul, Türkiye. The official visitor site lists buses 129T, 34AZ and 34Z, Marmaray, the M4 metro, and dolmuş routes D-36 and D-61 as transit options. Routes and service can change, so check them for your travel date. Consult the official tower site for visitor information.
How tall is the tower?
Kule A.Ş., the operator, lists the tower at 369 metres above ground level and 387 metres in total structural height, including its underground structure. These are different measurement bases, not competing estimates. The distinction matters when describing a building whose base extends below ground.

The public spaces are also described by their elevations above sea level, which should not be confused with height above ground. The operator places observation decks on floors 33 and 34 at 366.5 metres and 371 metres above sea level, respectively. Restaurants on floors 39 and 40 are listed at 393.5 metres and 398 metres above sea level.
How does the building combine broadcasting and public use?
Broadcasting service began in September 2020, according to Kule A.Ş. The operator says the facility can carry 100 radio broadcasts without interfering with one another; that is the operator’s technical claim, rather than an independently verified performance result. Consolidating transmission equipment in one tower also gives the structure a practical role beyond its skyline presence.

New Atlas’s 2021 account describes a steel-reinforced concrete core, sculpted façade and steel mast, and reports an interior area of 29,000 square metres. That area figure is from the 2021 article and is not independently established here. The article also described public podium facilities including a café and exhibition spaces.
What can visitors do inside?
The observation decks are enclosed, and visitors can also dine in the tower. The official site describes an observation-deck visit as lasting 1.5 hours. Ticket holders are asked to follow the time shown on their ticket; tickets are available online or at the entrance, according to the official FAQ.

- Access and equipment: the official FAQ prohibits tripods, large camera lenses and binoculars. Stairs are for emergency evacuation.
The FAQ says a reservation is not required for the 39th-floor café, subject to availability, while the 40th-floor restaurant requires a booking. Confirm current details and policies on the official tower website before setting out. Exact current opening hours and ticket prices are not established by the official pages cited here.

New Atlas reported in March 2021 that as many as 4.5 million visitors per year were estimated. This was a forecast, not a confirmed attendance figure. The same article’s expectation that the tower would open to the public in late spring 2021 is historical, not useful as present-day opening guidance; the official visitor site now provides ticket and visit information.
