Was the damage linked to a border-wall protest?
KJZZ reported that a social media post called for a Friday demonstration at the business opposing the company’s role in border-wall construction. The post also expressed support for the “grandmother tree” and people arrested for blocking construction in Lochiel. The report does not link the demonstration or any demonstrator to the broken windows.
The broader protest context concerned border-wall construction in southern Arizona. KJZZ reported that the grandmother tree had been removed earlier that week after activists sat in it for 70 days, and that protesters remained at the border camp. These details provide context, not evidence about who damaged the Tempe office or why.
