A unit that is simply narrow enough to fit an opening may still overheat or be impossible to service if its installation instructions require clearance around the sides or rear.
What makes a kegerator suitable for under-counter installation?
Look for an explicit built-in or under-counter approval for the exact model, then follow its installation manual. Front ventilation is a key feature of many built-in appliances because it allows heat to escape through the front rather than relying on open space around the cabinet. It is not enough to infer built-in suitability from a product’s width or appearance.
For example, the Summit SBC58BFRTP product page describes a 24-inch-wide, front-tap built-in beer kegerator that can be installed under a counter without modifying the countertop for a draft tower. Confirm that the current variant’s instructions support the arrangement before planning cabinetry around it.
Likewise, the EdgeStar KC7000SS product listing identifies front ventilation and indoor built-in use. The Komos installation guidance distinguishes its Pro Outdoor model as rated for under-counter assembly and gives clearance cautions for named standard models. These examples show why approval and ventilation must be checked model by model.

How to check whether a model will fit your cabinetry
Measure the opening and the route into the room, then compare those measurements with the chosen model’s current manual. Cabinet dimensions alone do not settle fit: the appliance may need room for leveling, ventilation, door opening, and service access.
- Opening: Measure width, height, and depth at several points. Check the manual’s required clearances and installation dimensions, not just the appliance’s exterior size.
- Ventilation and access: Preserve the specified air path and make sure the unit can be pulled out or serviced as required.
- Door swing: Check that nearby cabinets, walls, and handles will not block the door or access to the keg.
- Delivery route: Measure hallways, turns, and doorways as well as the final opening.
- Counter and tower: Decide whether the tower sits on the appliance or mounts through the countertop. Check the manual for the required layout before cutting or drilling.
The KC7000SS listing reports external dimensions of 25.37 inches deep × 34.37 inches high × 24 inches wide. Those are product specifications for that listing, not universal cabinet-cutout dimensions or independently measured results. Its listed temperature range is 32–60°F; treat that as the page’s stated specification, not a guarantee of performance in every installation. Verify the exact model, variant, and manual before building the opening.

Which tower arrangement works with your counter?
Appliance-top tower
A tower mounted on top of the kegerator can avoid routing a beer line through the counter, but the appliance and its installation instructions must support that arrangement. The Summit SBC58BFRTP is described by Summit as a front-tap built-in model designed to install without a countertop modification for a tower. Confirm the precise current variant and its instructions before relying on that feature.
Counter-mounted tower
A counter-mounted tower requires a plan for the mounting holes and the beer-line route between the cooled cabinet and tower. The MO24BSS installation manual describes mounting the tower and routing the line through the counter. Its illustrated layout assumes a countertop depth of 25 5/16 inches (64.3 cm); that is an assumption for the illustrated layout, not a general countertop or cutout requirement. Use the instructions for the exact appliance and counter dimensions before drilling.

Compare models by installation and serving needs
Capacity and tap count are different decisions: keg format determines what fits inside, while the number of taps determines how many beers can be served at once. Compare the exact model and bundle against the following criteria.
| Criterion | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Built-in approval and ventilation | Whether the manufacturer approves the exact model for under-counter use, and where it vents. |
| Dimensions and clearances | Exterior dimensions, required opening, ventilation space, leveling, and service access in the current manual. |
| Door and room layout | Door swing, nearby obstructions, and the path needed to deliver and remove the unit. |
| Keg formats and capacity | Which keg types fit and whether the product page’s capacity applies to the format you intend to use. |
| Tap count and tower location | Number of taps, whether the tower is on the appliance or counter, and any counter work needed. |
| Included dispensing parts | Whether the exact SKU includes a tower and faucets, keg coupler, CO₂ cylinder, regulator, drip tray, and shelves. |
| Temperature range and warranty | The manufacturer’s stated range and warranty terms for the specific model and region. |
| Availability and service | Current stock, model status, parts support, and access for maintenance. |
The KC7000SS listing describes a single-tap setup and gives capacity information for different keg formats. Check its current listing and bundle to confirm the parts included. Its dual-tap sibling, the KC7000TWIN, has a separate product listing marked discontinued there; do not assume it is currently available.

Plan for the beer line and tower temperature
A beer line routed outside the cooled cabinet may need attention where it passes through a counter or reaches a tower. Kegco’s supplier guidance recommends insulating an exposed line route and says a tower fan can help manage tower temperature and foaming. These are possible installation or troubleshooting measures, not requirements for every unit. Follow the selected kegerator’s manual and check accessory compatibility before adding equipment.
Choose the right model before finalizing the cabinet
- Select a model explicitly approved for the intended indoor or outdoor built-in installation.
- Download the current manual for the exact model and compare its dimensions, clearances, ventilation path, and service requirements with the planned opening.
- Choose the tower location and confirm whether the counter needs mounting holes or a line pass-through.
- Confirm the keg formats, tap count, included parts, warranty, and current availability for the exact SKU.
- Finalize cabinet and countertop work only after the measurements and installation method are confirmed.
Published product specifications and retailer listings can change. The examples above do not establish comparative energy use, durability, or independently tested pouring performance, so use current manufacturer instructions and listings to make the final installation decision.
