The product examples reviewed here range from a handcrafted bronze bath to solid-surface and composite tubs with bronze finishes, and their published weights and capacities differ substantially. Before buying, verify the exact model’s materials, dimensions, dry weight, capacity, finish care, price, and delivery requirements; have the project’s filled load and structure assessed for the actual installation.
What Does “Bronze Bathtub” Mean?
Do not infer a tub’s shell material from its color or product name. For example, Refaqua describes its Byzantine as a bronze bath, while Aquatica identifies the Coletta’s material as AquateX and PSCBath identifies the Stone1’s material as Compolight; both latter products have bronze exteriors. The interior can also differ from the exterior finish.
Manufacturer and retailer specifications are useful for comparing exact products, but they are not independent tests or a determination that a particular floor is suitable. Confirm specifications and installation requirements for the exact model, finish, and delivered unit.
Bronze and Bronze-Finish Bathtubs Compared
| Model | Material and finish | Published size | Published weight and capacity | Price and notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Aquatica Coletta | AquateX solid surface; customizable exterior finish, listed as bronze | 70.75 × 35.5 × 19.75 in; 12.75 in depth to overflow | 231 lb; 85 gal | The reviewed Canadian page displayed CAD $17,192 in a bundle listing; confirm a current quote and what it includes. Listed with a 25-year limited warranty. |
| AquaDesign Stone1 | Compolight composite; white interior and bronze exterior | 67 × 34 × 21 in | 408 lb; 87 gal | No price stated on the reviewed listing. Chrome pop-up and overflow trims are described; other finishes are listed. |
These are distinct products, not a standardized comparison of materials. Their published lengths, dry weights, and capacities do not establish whether a tub will fit a room, pass through the delivery route, or be suitable for a particular floor. Check the current specification sheet and installation documents.

Cost: Compare the Price Basis
The reviewed sources do not support a representative category price for bronze bathtubs. The Aquatica Coletta page displayed CAD $17,192 in a bundle listing, which is a product-page value rather than a stable quote or category average. As adjacent comparisons, BC Designs’ February 2026 brochure lists its antique copper boat bath at £6,229 for the 1500 mm version and £7,005 for the 1700 mm version, including VAT. These are copper baths, not bronze tubs.
Chadder & Co’s Windsor is a Chadite composite bath, not a bronze tub. Its page lists a primed price of £3,950 excluding VAT and £4,850 for the Oyster Bronze finish. The selected variant was listed as unavailable when reviewed. Confirm current price, stock, currency, tax treatment, freight, accessories, installation, and lead time directly with the supplier.

How to Screen a Tub Before You Buy
- Identify the shell and finish. Check the manufacturer’s material description and whether bronze refers to the bathing material, an exterior finish, or another component. Confirm the interior material and whether the finish is sealed, lacquered, or expected to patinate.
- Check dimensions and fit. Compare the overall and internal dimensions, depth to overflow, drain position, base or feet contact points, and installation clearances against the room and current drawings. Length alone does not prove fit.
- Separate dry weight from filled load. Record the published dry product weight and capacity for the exact model. Use them to assess the proposed installation with the relevant building professional; do not treat a product-page weight as a floor-capacity conclusion.
- Confirm plumbing details. Check the drain, overflow, waste inclusion, trim finish, tap holes, and whether site drilling is permitted or required. Review installation documents before rough-in.
- Plan the delivery route. Confirm delivery dimensions and the route through doors, stairs, turns, and floor transitions. Ask the supplier about handling requirements for the actual tub and packaging.
- Get a complete, current quote. Confirm currency, tax or VAT, waste and accessory exclusions, freight, installation, stock, and lead time in writing.
- Agree on finish care. Get care instructions for the specific material and finish. Do not apply guidance for copper or brass to a bronze or bronze-finish tub unless its maker says it applies.
Finish and Maintenance
Care depends on the material and finish; “bronze” alone is not a care instruction. Chadder & Co describes its Oyster finish as a living finish that develops patina, but that statement applies to its Windsor composite bath and finish. BC Designs describes its copper and brass products as living finishes; its brochure is useful comparison evidence for those adjacent metals, not care guidance for every bronze or bronze-finish tub.
Request the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact surface, including suitable cleaners and any restrictions. If a finish is expected to change over time, decide whether that aging is desirable before purchase. When coordinating the tub with taps, drains, and other fittings, confirm the finish names and samples rather than assuming products from different makers will match.

Installation and Professional Review
Before ordering, confirm the manufacturer’s drawings, waste and overflow requirements, installation instructions, and delivery conditions with the supplier and installer. Have the proposed filled system load and supporting structure assessed for the actual location. The reviewed product specifications do not establish a code rule or project-specific floor capacity.
Arrange the review before purchase if the tub is going upstairs, the framing or access route is uncertain, or the installation requires changes to plumbing or structure. Requirements vary by project and location; confirm applicable approvals with local authorities and qualified professionals rather than assuming a tub specification settles them.
