Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →A 1000-watt rating is a useful way to narrow food-processor options, but it does not prove that one machine will process food faster, handle tougher ingredients better, or last longer than another. Compare the exact model’s bowl capacity, included attachments, feed chute, controls, and safety features—and check availability carefully: the documented Breville and Cuisinart 1000-watt examples below are discontinued.
What a 1000-watt rating tells you—and what it doesn’t
Wattage is a specification, not a performance test. Manufacturers also phrase the figure differently: Breville lists the Sous Chef 12 BFP660 at “1000 Watts,” while Cuisinart describes the FP-12DCNC motor as “1000 watt peak power.” Those labels should not be treated as directly comparable evidence of real-world performance.
The manufacturer specifications and manuals cited here do not provide controlled comparisons establishing that a 1000-watt processor is faster, quieter, more durable, or better at difficult ingredients. Use the rating as an initial filter, then compare the features that determine whether a particular configuration fits your cooking and storage needs.
Documented 1000-watt models and alternatives
The following are manufacturer-documented examples, not a verified list of currently available products. Both named 1000-watt product pages explicitly mark their models discontinued; the KitchenAid listing is legacy manual documentation. Check a live retailer or manufacturer listing before purchasing, and confirm the exact model revision and included accessories.

The manual does not establish current availability. |
For context, Breville’s discontinued Sous Chef 16 Pro BFP800 is not a 1000-watt pick: its product page lists a 1200 W motor, 16-cup bowl, 24-setting slicer, mini bowl, and multiple attachments. It illustrates why a wattage-led search can miss higher-rated options, but the cited page does not establish current availability.
How to choose the configuration that fits your kitchen
Match bowl capacity to batch size and counter space
A 12-cup bowl may suit many everyday batches, while the documented KitchenAid model shows a larger 16-cup option. Larger capacity can be useful when processing more at once, but it also means considering the appliance’s footprint and where its accessories will live. The cited documentation does not provide a consistent set of dimensions for comparing these models.

Choose attachments for the jobs you actually do
Chopping blades, slicing and shredding discs, and dough blades extend a processor beyond basic chopping. If you regularly make dough, look for a dough blade in the exact model’s included-accessory list. If you slice often, an adjustable disc can offer more control over thickness; Breville’s BFP660 page, for example, specifies 24 settings from 0.3 mm to 8.0 mm.
Nested bowls can help when you alternate between large and small batches without wanting to process everything in the main bowl. The Cuisinart FP-12DCNC page documents 12-cup and 4-cup bowls; Breville’s Sous Chef 12 Plus page describes a second mini processing bowl. The latter page also lists a 24-setting slicer, three feed-chute options, a blade safety interlock and brake, and an attachment storage case, but it does not show a wattage figure in the cited page text. It is therefore not established here as a 1000-watt example.

Check the feed chute and controls
Feed-chute design affects the size and shape of food you can add before cutting it down to fit. Breville lists three chute options for the BFP660 and BFP680. For Cuisinart and KitchenAid in this comparison, the cited source summaries do not establish a comparable chute arrangement, so verify the exact model’s manual or product listing rather than assuming the designs match.
Compare safeguards and handling instructions
Breville says the BFP660 will not operate unless the bowl and lid are locked and the large pusher is inserted, and describes a braking system that rapidly stops the S-blades if the lid is unexpectedly opened. These are manufacturer-described safeguards, not a substitute for careful handling.

KitchenAid’s manual says: “Never feed food by hand. Always use the food pusher.” It also instructs users to secure the cover before operating, keep hands and utensils away from moving blades or discs, stay within the marked maximum fill line or rated capacity, and take care with blades during emptying and cleaning. Follow the manual for the exact appliance you own, since instructions can vary by model.

What to verify before buying a listing
- Confirm the exact model number and status. A familiar product name may cover different versions. The BFP660 and FP-12DCNC pages cited here mark those models discontinued; that does not establish whether a particular seller has stock or whether a listing is a new, used, or replacement product.
- Read the wattage wording exactly. Distinguish a maker’s “1000 Watts” listing from a “1000 watt peak power” claim. Do not infer performance equivalence from the shared number alone.
- Check what is in the box. Compare bowls, blades, discs, pushers, and storage cases against the manufacturer’s model-specific documentation. Replacement accessories must be compatible with the exact appliance model.
- Check electrical compatibility and practical fit. Breville lists 110–120 V for the BFP660. Confirm that the model’s voltage and physical footprint suit your location and kitchen before purchasing.
- Verify seller, availability, and return terms. Product pages documenting old specifications do not verify current inventory, price, seller, or warranty terms for a live listing.
