The best two-ring electric hob depends on the heating technology you want, the pans you own, and whether the appliance fits your worktop and electrical supply. “Electric hob” can mean induction or radiant ceramic: induction heats compatible cookware directly, while ceramic elements heat the glass surface and then the pan. The official product information available here describes different models and markets, not a like-for-like independent test, so it does not support one universal winner or a general energy-savings figure.
Induction or ceramic: which type do you need?
Two-zone induction
An induction hob uses a magnetic field to heat compatible cookware. The FUJIOH FH-ID5125 is a built-in example with two zones, a pan sensor and touch controls. Induction is a fit if your cookware is compatible and you want the hob to detect a pan; check the selected model’s manual for cookware requirements.
Radiant ceramic
A ceramic hob heats cookware through radiant elements beneath its glass surface. FOTILE describes its EEG75201 as a built-in ceramic hob with dual-ring heating. Ceramic and induction are not interchangeable descriptions: check the product listing and installation documentation to confirm which technology you are buying.
Models in the available product information
These examples span consumer built-in appliances and commercial equipment, and their specifications should not be treated as a direct performance ranking.
#1 Best Overall
- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

Check the worktop fit and electrical supply
Dimensions and wiring requirements are model-specific. For the Singapore-market FUJIOH FH-ID5125, the manufacturer lists overall dimensions of 288 × 520 × 60 mm, a 268 × 500 mm cut-out, a 220–240 V supply and 15 A required at 230 V. Its listed total power is 3.5 kW. Do not use those figures to plan another hob’s installation.
- Get the exact model’s installation drawing and confirm the cut-out, overall dimensions and required clearances before ordering.
- Check the appliance’s voltage, current and connection requirements against your home’s supply with a qualified installer where appropriate.
- Confirm ventilation and clearance requirements in the model’s own installation instructions; they are not established uniformly by the product details above.
- Verify that the exact version is sold and supported in your region, including warranty and repair availability.
Match zone size to your cookware
For the FH-ID5125, FUJIOH lists 150 mm and 180 mm zones. The Electrolux Professional commercial top recommends 12–28 cm pot diameters for maximum heating efficiency, but that range is specific to that product and should not be transferred to household hobs. Check the manual for the hob you are considering, and compare its stated pan requirements with the diameter of your cookware’s base.

Compare safety features and controls
Feature lists differ by model, so check which protections are explicitly included rather than assuming every electric hob has the same controls.
- Pan sensing: Listed for the FUJIOH induction hob; it detects whether a pan is present.
- Child lock: Listed for both the FUJIOH and FOTILE examples.
- Hot or residual-heat indication: FUJIOH lists a residual-heat indicator; FOTILE lists hot-surface indication. Smeg also lists residual-heat indication.
- Automatic shut-off: FUJIOH lists automatic switch-off, while FOTILE lists automatic power-off. Smeg describes automatic switch-off on overheating.
- Overheating protection: Listed for FOTILE and for the Electrolux Professional commercial model.
What the energy figures do—and do not—show
The available figures are not a standardized, like-for-like comparison of household two-zone hobs. Smeg lists 191 Wh/kg for the SE232TD2’s second zone. Electrolux Professional says its commercial 700XP top complies with the Swiss Energy Efficiency Ordinance (730.02). Neither fact establishes a universal savings rate or identifies the most efficient consumer hob in another market. Look for comparable standardized figures for the exact models sold where you live, and treat manufacturer efficiency language as a product claim unless it is backed by comparable test data.

How to choose for your kitchen
- Choose the heating technology. Decide between induction and radiant ceramic, then confirm your cookware works with the specific model.
- Measure the installation space. Compare your worktop with the manufacturer’s cut-out drawing, not just the hob’s top dimensions.
- Check the electrical requirements. Confirm the appliance’s supply and connection requirements with the product documentation and local installation guidance.
- Match the zones to your pans. Use the manufacturer’s stated zone and pan guidance; do not assume recommendations from a different model apply.
- Review controls and protections. Check for the functions you value, such as a timer, child lock, residual-heat display, pan sensing or overheating protection.
- Confirm local ownership support. Verify regional availability, warranty, repair service and installation arrangements before committing. Those details are market-specific and are not established for all listed examples.
Which one is best?
There is no evidence here for a single best two-ring electric hob across markets. The FUJIOH is a documented built-in induction option with specific dimensions and supply requirements; FOTILE’s example is a built-in ceramic hob; Smeg provides a ceramic-zone energy figure; and Electrolux Professional’s product is commercial equipment. Choose by technology, fit, supply, cookware and local support rather than treating these unlike products as a ranked shortlist.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- 【CHECK YOUR PAN FIRST — MAGNET TEST + FLAT BASE 4 –10 IN】Works only with magnetic, flat-bottom cookware: cast iron, magnetic 430 stainless steel, or enameled iron. Fridge-magnet test on the flat bottom: clings = works; slides = no heat. Not for aluminum, copper, glass, ceramic, or non-magnetic 304 stainless steel. Measure the flat magnetic base, not the rim: 4 –10 in (10–26 cm). Round-bottom/warped pans or small magnetic dots won’t work. “E0” = pan mismatch, not a defect.
