Aqara’s Prime Day 2026 deals made it cheaper to build a smart home—here’s what was worth buying

Aqara’s Prime Day 2026 event prices are historical, but they show where the real value was: sensors, hubs, locks, and doorbells. Here’s what was worth buying and what to check first.

Amazon Prime Day 2026 has ended. The event ran from June 23–26, 2026, so the prices below are historical rather than live offers. The best Aqara values were concentrated in sensors, hubs, locks, and doorbells—but the real cost depends on whether you already have the right hub, Matter controller, Thread network, wiring, and smart-home platform.

For a sensor-heavy installation, Aqara could make a capable smart home substantially cheaper. For locks, cameras, and permanent electrical work, compatibility matters more than the percentage shown beside the price.

The short version

Buyer Best direction Main caveat
First-time buyer A hub plus a small sensor bundle Confirm whether the devices use Zigbee or Matter over Thread
Apple Home user A U400 or another compatible lock, plus an Apple home hub UWB and Home Key require compatible Apple hardware and software
Security-focused buyer G410 or G400 with contact and leak sensors Recording features, wiring, storage, and subscriptions vary
Home Assistant user Matter/Thread products or RTSP/ONVIF-capable cameras Setup is more flexible but less plug-and-play
Renter Battery sensors, buttons, plugs, and removable devices Avoid permanent wiring or lock changes without permission

The strongest reported Prime Day prices were the Aqara Smart Lock U400 at $219.99, down from a listed $269.99, and the Camera Hub G2H Pro at $54.99, down from $69.99. These prices were reported during the June event by HomeKitNews; they should not be treated as current prices.

What Aqara’s deals were best for

Sensors and automation accessories

Aqara’s door and window, motion, presence, temperature and humidity, water-leak, and vibration sensors are often the most economical way to make a home feel intelligent. They can trigger lights, send an open-door alert, shut off equipment after a leak, start climate routines, or notify you when movement occurs.

#1 Best Overall
Aqara Camera Protect Kit Y100-4 Piece Wireless Home Security System
  • Advanced Camera Hub and Matter Bridge: The Aqara Camera Hub G3 not only provides local detection and supports HomeKit Secure Video, but also functions as an Aqara Zigbee Hub and a Matter Bridge. It can connect up to 128 Aqara Zigbee child-devices. Works with Aqara devices to create a comprehensive, smart home automation system. As a Matter bridge, it’s compatible with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and can integrate with third-party devices through these ecosystems. (Note: For IR functionality in Apple Home, see Advanced Matter Bridging)
  • Comprehensive Security System: The Y100 Kit integrates a 2K camera with AI detection (AI Facial, Pet and Gesture Recognition) and 3 smart sensors (motion, vibration, door and window) for monitoring intrusions and suspicious activities. All devices are already paired together, and can trigger instant cloud recordings when sensors detect activity. Easy to set up, no need to learn to how to connect to child devices. (Notes: This functionality is supported only in the Aqara Home app)
  • Cloud Recording & Security Automation with HomeGuardian: Cloud storage for up to 7 days included (no subscription required). Enjoy HomeGuardian cloud service, featuring AI event tagging, extended 90-day video backups, and SMS/email alerts (activate in app). Local storage with microSD card (not included) also supported for 24/7 recording.
  • Intelligent Event Tagging & Playback: As a bundle, Y100’s capabilities are designed to provide a comprehensive security system with core-security events captured by the camera and sensors working together. AI-powered event tagging automatically categorizes footage (e.g., "Motion Detected", "Door Opened") and saves critical clips separately. Review incidents in seconds—no need to scan hours of video.(Notes: Only in Aqara Home App)
  • Easy DIY Installation, No Drilling: Installation suggestions based on your home layout available in the Aqara Home App. Place sensors with damage-free adhesive, plug in the G3 camera via USB-C (adapter not included). Sensors run on 5-year batteries (included). Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not officially supported by Aqara. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.

Buttons, switches, plugs, and lighting controls extend those automations. A button beside the bed can turn off several lights at once; a plug can automate a lamp or appliance; a contact sensor can distinguish an open window from a closed one.

Do not assume these are standalone Wi-Fi devices. Traditional Aqara accessories commonly use Zigbee and require an Aqara hub or compatible bridge. Matter-over-Thread products instead require a suitable Matter controller with Thread support. Aqara explains the distinction in its Zigbee and Thread guide and Matter guide.

Hubs

A hub can mean several different things:

  • Aqara Zigbee hub: connects traditional Aqara sensors and can bridge supported devices to other platforms.
  • Matter controller: lets a smart-home ecosystem commission and manage Matter devices.
  • Thread border router: connects Thread devices to the home network.
  • Combined hub: some Aqara cameras and doorbells perform several of these roles.

Aqara identifies the M3, M100, and Camera Hub G5 Pro as Matter controllers for Aqara Home. The G410 doorbell also includes a Matter controller and can act as a Thread border router, making it more useful than a doorbell alone.

Smart locks

The U400 was the clearest high-value Prime Day offer reported in the dossier. It uses Matter over Thread and supports Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant, although individual features vary by platform. A compatible Thread-enabled Matter controller is still required for the chosen ecosystem. See Aqara’s U400 specifications.

Rank #2
Aqara Doorbell Camera G400 with Chime, Wired/PoE, HomeKit Secure Video,IP65
  • Works with HomeKit Secure Video and All Major Ecosystems: Fully compatible with Apple HomeKit Secure Video (HSV) for encrypted recording, iCloud storage, and real-time notifications directly on Apple devices. Also compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and SmartThings. Pro-level compatibility provides more options via RTSP/ONVIF support, NVR integration, and other advanced setups. *Note: To use this device with HomeKit Secure Video, an iCloud+ plan and an Apple home hub are required.
  • 2K HD 165° Head-to-Toe Vision: See everything from packages at your feet to faces at the door. Featuring 2K HD resolution and a 165° ultra-wide field of view with a 3:4 aspect ratio, the G400 doorbell camera provides a vertical perspective that traditional 16:9 cameras miss. Equipped with nearly invisible 940nm infrared LEDs, this doorbell captures bright, high-definition video in total darkness, monitoring discreetly without alerting intruders or disturbing neighbors. *Note: When connected to Apple HomeKit, the resolution is limited to 1200p. This limitation also applies to Aqara Home when both platforms are used simultaneously.
  • Reliable Hardwired Power & Stable Wi-Fi 6: You can utilize the high-efficiency PoE connection or reuse your existing 8–24V AC/DC wiring, simplifying the upgrade path while maintaining stability. Additionally, the Wi-Fi video doorbell supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 6 and meets WPA3 security standards for reliable and secure connections.
  • Local AI Detections & Custom Replies: Reduce false alarms with local person recognition and zone intrusion, ensuring you're instantly notified when it matters, with no cloud processing required. When someone rings, use custom quick replies or the voice-changing intercom to answer the door safely. Our wired doorbell camera also features visitor face recognition and cloud package identification for total peace of mind.
  • IP65 Weatherproof & Easy Setup: Built to withstand the elements with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, it works flawlessly in wind and rain. The package includes a wedge kit for optimal positioning and a plug-in chime for indoor alerts. The smart doorbell supports 24/7 continuous recording directly to a microSD card (up to 512GB, not included). For added peace of mind, all local footage is automatically backed up to your SMB-compatible NAS server, keeping your video safe and secure.

The U400 is not interchangeable with the U300, U200, U100, or U50. Check whether the model fits a standard deadbolt, replacement-cylinder arrangement, or another door configuration. Before buying, verify the door’s backset, thickness, handing, deadbolt type, interior clearance, and emergency-entry method.

The U400’s approach-to-unlock feature is particularly easy to overstate. Aqara says it requires compatible iPhone and Apple Watch models, suitable operating-system versions, and a Thread-enabled Apple home hub or compatible Thread border router. It is not a feature available to every iPhone or Apple Watch.

Cameras and doorbells

The G2H Pro was the lower-cost camera-and-hub option in the reported Prime Day pricing. The G410 is more strategically useful for a new installation because it combines doorbell functions with Aqara Zigbee hub capability, Matter-controller capability, and Thread-border-router capability.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The wired G400 is the better fit for buyers who specifically want wired installation, local recording, or advanced integrations. Aqara lists microSD recording up to 512GB, SMB NAS backup, RTSP, and ONVIF support. Some capabilities depend on wired operation or additional hardware. HomeKit Secure Video is limited to 1200p and requires iCloud+ and an Apple home hub, according to Aqara’s G400 product information.

Practical setups by use case

Cheapest useful starter setup

Start with one required hub or Matter controller, two or three door/window sensors, one motion or presence sensor, and one plug or button. This is enough to test wireless range, app reliability, platform integration, and basic automations without committing to a large multipack.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Install the devices where they solve a specific problem: a contact sensor on the front door, a motion sensor in a hallway, a leak sensor below a washing machine, or a plug on a living-room lamp.

Aqara UWB Smart Lock U400, Apple Home Key, Fingerprint Deadbolt, Black
  • True Hands-Free Unlocking with UWB Technology: Experience a new era of smart access — UWB (Ultra-Wideband) detects your incoming presence, direction, and intent to unlock automatically as you approach. It provides a faster, more convenient, and highly secure way to enter your home without touching the lock. Perfect when your hands are full, you're wearing gloves, or arriving in the rain. (Note: UWB unlocking requires a Thread-enabled Apple Home hub and is supported on Apple Watch Series 6 or later (excluding SE) running watchOS 11.5+ and iPhone 11 or later (excluding iPhone SE & iPhone 16e) running iOS 18.5+.)
  • All-in-One Unlocking Options: Enjoy Apple home key tap-to-unlock (requires an Apple Thread-enabled Matter controller: HomePod 2nd Gen, HomePod mini, or Apple TV 4K 2021/2022), plus fingerprint, touchscreen passcode, voice assistant control, app remote access, NFC card support (card sold separately), and a physical key, giving you flexible, reliable ways to enter your home in any situation.
  • Matter Over Thread for Multi-Ecosystem Compatibility: Built with Matter over Thread, the U400 can connect to multiple smart home platforms simultaneously, allowing you to enjoy the unique features of each ecosystem. Thread offers faster response, more stable connectivity, lower power consumption, and secure data transmission. Note: A Thread-enabled Matter controller from each ecosystem is required for its respective platform.
  • Convenient Rechargeable Power System: Powered by a rechargeable and removable lithium battery that lasts up to 6 months per charge. Use the lock's USB-C port to recharge without taking the lock offline, or remove the battery and charge it separately. A low-battery voice alert will notify you when the battery drops below 20%, ensuring you never get caught off guard.
  • Certified Security & Outdoor Durability: BHMA-certified for proven protection, mechanical strength, and long-term reliability. The IP65-rated exterior guards against dust and water for dependable outdoor performance. Plus, the rekeyable design allows you to change the physical key without replacing the entire lock cylinder.

Apartment or rental

Favor battery-powered sensors, buttons, plugs, and removable cameras where allowed. Avoid hard-wired switches and permanent lock changes unless the landlord approves them and the electrical or door hardware is suitable.

Apple Home security setup

A possible package is a U400 or compatible Aqara lock, a G410 or G400 doorbell, door/window sensors, and a water-leak sensor. Apple Home remote control and automations require an Apple home hub, such as a compatible HomePod or Apple TV. Aqara’s Apple Home guidance explains that requirement.

HomeKit compatibility does not guarantee feature parity. Fingerprint management, device-specific automations, facial recognition, and some camera controls may remain in Aqara Home.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Alexa or Google Home

Choose devices listed as compatible with your platform, then check the specific functions exposed. Matter may provide basic controls while advanced Aqara features remain available only through Aqara Home or a particular bridge. “Works with Alexa” or “Works with Google Home” should not be read as “every feature works there.”

Best Value
Aqara Smart Thermostat W200 with Apple Adaptive Temperature
  • Apple Adaptive Temperature - With the Apple Home app, Adaptive Temperature uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on activity states like 'home', 'sleep', 'away' and 'extended away'. This provides comfort upon arrival home and saves energy when away, without the complicated steps of creating or managing schedules. (Note: Adaptive Temperature requires a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and an iPhone or Apple Watch, all running version 26 or later.)
  • Apple Clean Energy Guidance: Smarter Energy Savings - With the Apple Home app, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to use cleaner grid times when electricity may cost less, while maintaining comfort. The forecast is personalized for your home location using environmental and grid data. (Note: Clean Energy Guidance is available only in the contiguous U.S.)
  • Easy Installation with Wide HVAC Compatibility - Designed to fit most homes, W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. No C-wire? Simply add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter (sold separately) for stable power. We even include a trim kit to easily cover old wiring and keep your wall looking clean and fresh.
  • Functions as a Smart Display for Your Front Door - W200 works as a visual control panel for your Aqara video doorbell (only compatible with G410/G400, G4 excluded) and smart lock, showing visitor snapshots right on the screen and letting you unlock the door with a simple tap. No need to open an app on your phone or run to the door.
  • Control Your Climate Your Way: App, Voice Assistant, or One-Tap Button Control – You can manually adjust the temperature via the app, or through voice assistants like Alexa or Siri when connected. You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.

Home Assistant

Prioritize Matter devices, Thread-compatible infrastructure, and cameras with RTSP or ONVIF where appropriate. The G400 and G410 can be useful for advanced integrations, but RTSP, ONVIF, NAS recording, and Matter bridging may require particular settings or operating conditions. Home Assistant offers more local-control and automation flexibility, but it demands more configuration and troubleshooting than a single-vendor setup.

Do Aqara products need a hub?

There is no universal yes-or-no answer.

  • Traditional Aqara Zigbee sensors generally need an Aqara Zigbee hub.
  • Matter-over-Thread products can connect directly to a suitable Thread-enabled Matter controller in the chosen ecosystem.
  • Some cameras and doorbells combine camera, hub, Matter-controller, and Thread-border-router functions.
  • An Aqara hub may still be worthwhile for Aqara-specific automations and advanced features, even where basic Matter connectivity is available.

Choose the ecosystem and protocol before choosing the hub. Buying a legacy Zigbee hub and later adding a separate Matter-and-Thread setup can cost more and complicate device management.

How to judge whether the discount was real

  1. Record the sale price, retailer, date, and whether Prime membership was required.
  2. Identify whether the offer was a coupon, clipped promotion, bundle price, or standard markdown.
  3. Compare the price with recent selling prices, not only the displayed MSRP.
  4. Use Amazon’s eligible product-page price history and deal-alert tools when available.
  5. Check seller identity, return terms, warranty coverage, and what accessories are included.

Amazon described discounts of up to 40% on selected smart-home devices during the event; that did not apply to every Aqara product. A large percentage beside an MSRP is not proof of an all-time low. An anecdotal discussion among Home Assistant users also warned that some Amazon discount calculations used an MSRP above the product’s usual recent selling price. Treat that as a caution, not audited pricing data.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What to skip, even when discounted

  • A lock that does not fit: physical compatibility outranks the sale price.
  • A sensor requiring an unplanned hub: include the hub in the true setup cost.
  • A large sensor multipack before testing: confirm wireless range and automation reliability first.
  • A wired switch without checking the electrical box: neutral-wire, load, and installation requirements vary.
  • A camera bought for a recording mode it cannot provide: check wiring, microSD, NAS, RTSP, ONVIF, iCloud+, and cloud-service requirements.
  • A product whose key features are unavailable in your platform: Matter compatibility does not guarantee identical controls everywhere.

Installation checklist

  1. Check the product page for protocol, power, and ecosystem support.
  2. Confirm whether an Aqara hub, Matter controller, or Thread border router is required.
  3. Install Aqara Home and update the hub or controller first.
  4. Add each device, name it by location, and update its firmware.
  5. Test the device at the intended installation point before mounting it.
  6. Create one simple automation and confirm that it works.
  7. Expose the device to Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, or Home Assistant if supported.
  8. Test both local behavior and remote access.

For locks, also test the mechanical key, battery warnings, emergency access, and every user credential. For cameras, test recording, notifications, night performance, storage, and privacy settings before relying on them for security alerts.

Bottom line

Aqara’s Prime Day 2026 prices were most compelling when they reduced the cost of a coherent sensor-and-hub installation. The reported $219.99 U400 and $54.99 G2H Pro were notable event prices, while the August Aqara bundles offered alternatives after Prime Day ended. The right buying order is ecosystem first, required infrastructure second, a small test purchase third, and expansion only after compatibility and range are confirmed.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
