Aqara used CES 2025 to announce a broad smart-home lineup built around hardwired wall controls, sensors, security hardware, and Matter, Thread, and Zigbee connectivity. The most notable products were the 6.9-inch Panel Hub S1 Plus, the rotary Touchscreen Dial V1, and the North American Touchscreen Switch S100. However, they were announced for different regions and did not all become confirmed U.S. retail products.

Aqara’s CES 2025 lineup at a glance

Aqara announced the products on January 6, 2025. The lineup falls into four groups: in-wall controls and switches, presence and climate sensors, security and control hubs, and devices designed to connect Aqara hardware with Matter and Thread ecosystems.

Aqara Smart Thermostat W200 with Apple Adaptive Temperature
  • Apple Adaptive Temperature - With the Apple Home app, Adaptive Temperature uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on activity states like 'home', 'sleep', 'away' and 'extended away'. This provides comfort upon arrival home and saves energy when away, without the complicated steps of creating or managing schedules. (Note: Adaptive Temperature requires a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and an iPhone or Apple Watch, all running version 26 or later.)
  • Apple Clean Energy Guidance: Smarter Energy Savings - With the Apple Home app, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to use cleaner grid times when electricity may cost less, while maintaining comfort. The forecast is personalized for your home location using environmental and grid data. (Note: Clean Energy Guidance is available only in the contiguous U.S.)
  • Easy Installation with Wide HVAC Compatibility - Designed to fit most homes, W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. No C-wire? Simply add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter (sold separately) for stable power. We even include a trim kit to easily cover old wiring and keep your wall looking clean and fresh.
  • Functions as a Smart Display for Your Front Door - W200 works as a visual control panel for your Aqara video doorbell (only compatible with G410/G400, G4 excluded) and smart lock, showing visitor snapshots right on the screen and letting you unlock the door with a simple tap. No need to open an app on your phone or run to the door.
  • Control Your Climate Your Way: App, Voice Assistant, or One-Tap Button Control – You can manually adjust the temperature via the app, or through voice assistants like Alexa or Siri when connected. You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.

It uses dual-band Wi-Fi and can act as an Aqara Zigbee hub and a Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices. That combination makes it more than a wall-mounted dashboard: it can combine physical lighting control, scene access, and ecosystem connectivity in one installation.

There is an important distinction between being a Matter bridge and offering full Matter feature parity. A bridge exposes supported devices to a Matter ecosystem, but the controls and device types available in Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, or another Matter controller depend on Aqara’s firmware, the device category, and the receiving platform. Proprietary Aqara features may remain available only through Aqara Home.

Three different approaches to in-wall control

Touchscreen Dial V1

The Touchscreen Dial V1 combines a 1.32-inch round display with a rotary dial and haptic feedback. It controls up to two wired light fixtures and can wirelessly operate Aqara devices and scenes. The dial can adjust dimming, color temperature, curtains, and thermostats.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It also includes temperature and humidity sensing and can detect someone approaching to wake the display. Its defining feature is the physical rotary control: unlike a small wall tablet, it is intended to provide quick, tactile adjustment of lighting and other settings.

Touchscreen Switch S100 US

The North American Touchscreen Switch S100 is a two-channel wall switch with physical buttons and a 1.3-inch touchscreen. It controls wired lights and can trigger wireless smart-home devices and scenes.

The S100 adds dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread connectivity, Matter over Wi-Fi support, and Thread Border Router functionality. Presence sensing can activate the screen as someone approaches, while an ambient-light sensor can adjust screen brightness.

This device does not provide safeguards against water ingress and is not suitable for outdoor installation.
  • [Easy installation and wide compatibility] Valve Controller T1 is a complete retrofit device, easy to install on existing valves without additional piping work. Compatible with DN15, DN20, DN25 (1/2 in, 3/4 in, 1 in) in pipe diameters and lever/butterfly handles to meet diverse needs.(Note:Different pipe sizes require different installation accessories)
  • [Flexible Remote Control] Control your valves remotely through the Aqara Home app or manually on-site. Enjoy the convenience and peace of mind with flexible options for managing your water from anywhere.
  • [Energy saving and environmental protection] The Valve Controller T1 features a 4 × AA battery power source, eliminating the need for additional wiring at the valve installation point. Designed with a low-power consumption system to extend battery life and reduce energy waste, the device can operate for up to 2 years, providing long-lasting water safety. This aligns with the energy conservation and environmental protection goals of modern households, making it an eco-friendly addition to your smart home.

For U.S. homeowners, the S100 is the most direct match for Aqara’s CES touchscreen-switch announcement because it is specifically the North American model and is listed on Aqara’s current U.S. product site. It is still an electrical installation, not a renter-friendly wireless remote.

Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2

The H2 range takes a more conventional switch approach. The Light Switch H2 supports Thread and Zigbee and is designed for homes with or without a neutral wire. Aqara announced three U.S. Light Switch H2 configurations: two buttons controlling one channel, two buttons controlling two channels, and four buttons controlling three channels.

The North American Dimmer Switch H2 adds dimming to the same broader Aqara connectivity strategy. Both products can include wireless buttons that trigger devices or scenes through Aqara Home or supported third-party platforms. Current U.S. pages are available for the Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2.

“No neutral wire required” is a capability, not a guarantee that every installation is compatible. Before specifying an H2 switch, verify the circuit topology, line and load conductors, box depth, load type, minimum load requirements, and whether the intended three-way or multi-way arrangement is supported. Local electrical rules may also require qualified installation.

FP300 and W100 bring sensing to individual rooms

Presence Multi-Sensor FP300

The FP300 combines passive infrared sensing with millimeter-wave presence detection. It also measures light, temperature, and humidity, supports Thread and Zigbee, and includes Matter support. Aqara advertises battery life of up to two years, although actual life depends on settings, radio activity, and automation use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The practical advantage over a basic motion sensor is continued-presence detection. A person can stop moving while reading, working, or watching television, yet the sensor is designed to keep room automations active. Results can vary with placement, room geometry, furniture, reflective surfaces, pets, fans, and sensitivity calibration. It should not be treated as infallible.

The FP300 product page provides the current U.S. product reference.

Climate Sensor W100

The W100 measures temperature and humidity and adds an onboard display. A secondary display field can show local weather or another sensor’s reading, while three buttons can trigger scenes or control devices.

That makes the W100 a small room-level interface rather than a hidden environmental sensor. It can show a condition at a glance and provide simple physical controls without requiring a phone. Aqara lists the W100 with Thread and Zigbee connectivity; its broader automation value depends on the selected hub and smart-home platform.

Hub M100 and the protocol terminology

Aqara positioned the compact, USB-A-powered Hub M100 as an entry-level Matter Controller. It combines Wi-Fi, Thread, and Zigbee, supports Aqara devices and hundreds of third-party Matter devices according to Aqara, and can act as both a Thread Border Router and a Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee products.

  • Matter Controller: commissions and manages Matter devices.
  • Matter bridge: exposes supported devices from another protocol or ecosystem to Matter.
  • Thread Border Router: connects a Thread network to the home’s IP network.

One device can perform all three roles, but the terms are not interchangeable. A Thread radio alone does not guarantee that a complete Thread and Matter setup is present; the home also needs a suitable controller, network, and compatible platform.

What the announcement means for Apple Home, Matter, and Zigbee users

Aqara’s strategy is not a completely platform-neutral setup. Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Aqara Home, Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings can work together, but the experience depends on the hub, firmware, and device support in each platform.

An Aqara-first installation is the clearest choice for users who want Aqara scenes, sensors, and device-specific functions. Apple Home households may value the G410 and Matter-enabled products, but should verify which controls and video features appear in Apple Home. Matter-first buyers gain potential platform flexibility, while accepting that a standardized Matter device model may expose fewer proprietary features. Home Assistant users may find the G410’s RTSP support useful for local-network video, but setup and maintenance are less turnkey than Aqara Home.

Aqara’s U.S. storefront itself cautions that not all child devices are compatible with every platform. Do not assume that a product’s Matter label means identical controls across Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.

Note: To ensure a stable connection, place the Hub M100 between 6 to 19 feet from the router.

Those were launch-era expectations, not evidence of current availability. In the supplied August 2026 catalog review, Aqara’s U.S. storefront listed the S100, H2 switches, FP300, W100, and G410. The S1 Plus, Dial V1, and M100 were not visibly listed in the reviewed U.S. product categories, so their U.S. retail status should be checked separately through Aqara’s where-to-buy locator or regional store.

No current U.S. prices should be inferred from the CES announcement. Availability, pricing, warranty terms, returns, and any cloud-storage requirements can change by region and should be confirmed on the product page before purchase.

Installation considerations for construction and renovation projects

In-wall smart controls should be planned like electrical hardware, not treated as interchangeable plug-in accessories.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Confirm the electrical box depth and device dimensions before drywall or trim work.
  • Identify line, load, neutral, and traveler conductors rather than relying on wire color alone.
  • Check bulb and load compatibility, especially for dimmers and low-load LED circuits.
  • Verify three-way or multi-way support before ordering switches for stairways, halls, or large rooms.
  • Plan Wi-Fi coverage and, for Thread products, the location of a suitable Thread Border Router.
  • Provide a fallback method of controlling important lights if a touchscreen panel, hub, or network is unavailable.
  • Have unfamiliar or code-regulated electrical work completed by a qualified professional.

A no-neutral design can simplify some retrofits, but it does not remove the need to verify the actual wiring and load. A screen-based panel also introduces more complexity than a conventional switch: a failure can affect both wall-based smart-home access and the expected lighting workflow.

Who should care about Aqara’s CES lineup?

  • Aqara ecosystem owners: The S100, H2 switches, FP300, and W100 are the most practical additions for expanding scenes and room automation.
  • Apple Home households: The G410 and Matter-enabled devices are relevant, but feature availability should be checked specifically in Apple Home.
  • Home Assistant users: The G410’s advertised RTSP support is notable for local-network video integrations.
  • Homeowners remodeling or building: Hardwired panels and switches can provide a clean, always-available control point when electrical planning happens early.
  • Renters: In-wall products are generally a poor fit unless the owner approves the work and the installation can be safely reversed.

Bottom line

Aqara’s CES 2025 announcement was a hardware strategy rather than a single launch: touchscreen wall controls, conventional smart switches, presence and climate sensors, a doorbell hub, and protocol bridges. For U.S. buyers evaluating products from the announced range, the S100 is the closest current match to the touchscreen-wall-control story, the H2 switches are the more conventional retrofit choices, the FP300 targets room-presence automation, and the G410 combines security with smart-home hub functions.

The S1 Plus remains the most ambitious concept, but its U.S. retail availability should not be assumed from the original CES timetable. In every case, confirm regional listings, platform feature support, circuit compatibility, and installation requirements before specifying the hardware.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
