The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall on January 22, 2026, covering about 1.5 million Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover units in the United States, with about 43,700 more sold in Canada. If you have one, stop using it and follow the refund and disposal steps below.
Which Angry Orange stain removers are recalled?
The recall covers Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover in Fresh Clean or Orange Twist scent, in 24-ounce, 32-ounce, and one-gallon sizes. The orange-and-white bottles display “Angry Orange” and “Stain & Odor Remover.” Some recalled units were sold with a UV light attachment.

The CPSC notice is dated January 22, 2026, and identifies the recall as number 26-201. The products were sold from March 2019 through December 2025 for prices listed by the CPSC as $4 to $60. Sales included Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer, Staples, TJ Maxx, other major retailers nationwide, and Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, AngryOrange.com, and Chewy.com. The CPSC says the products can contain Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism commonly found in soil and water. The agency says exposure can lead to serious infection requiring medical treatment for people with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions. It says the bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. The notice adds that people with healthy immune systems are usually not affected; this qualification does not mean the recalled product should continue to be used.

Under “Incidents/Injuries,” the CPSC notice reports “None reported.” That is the incident status stated in the notice, not evidence that a particular bottle is uncontaminated. The approximately 1.5 million U.S. units and 43,700 Canadian units are recall-scope figures, not estimates of how many bottles are contaminated or of health effects.
What should I do if I have Angry Orange stain remover?
- Stop using it immediately.
- Mark the product. With a marker, write “recalled” and your initials on the product.
- Document it for the refund. Take a photo showing the marking and email it to [email protected] to request a full refund.
- Dispose of it as directed. Put the product in its original container in household trash. Do not empty it first, and do not recycle the bottle.
