Jack Dorsey’s reported San Francisco home purchase was described in 2019 as a 3,588-square-foot, two-story house in the city’s Sea Cliff neighborhood. But there is no verified contemporary interior tour: Architectural Digest said in June 2019 that images of the newly acquired home were not available at the time.

What is known about the house Dorsey reportedly bought?

Architectural Digest reported on June 4, 2019, that Dorsey’s off-market purchase closed in late 2018 for $21.9 million. The Real Deal reported $21 million on June 9, 2019, a rounded version of the same reported price. These are historical figures from news coverage, not a current valuation or an independently authenticated property record.

According to Architectural Digest, the acquired house was built in 1962 and had two stories, 3,588 square feet, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a detached two-car garage. The outlet suggested the home had likely been updated over time, but did not establish a renovation history. These details describe the property as reported in 2019, not a present-day inspection.

How does it relate to Dorsey’s neighboring home?

The 2018 purchase was next door to a Sea Cliff residence Dorsey had reportedly bought in 2012 for about $10 million. Architectural Digest described that earlier home—not the house acquired in 2018—as a two-bedroom midcentury modern residence with a flat roof, a retractable glass roof, extensive glass walls, Brazilian wood cabinetry, and a double-height living room.

The Real Deal reported that the two neighboring properties together covered about 1.2 acres. That combined figure is not the lot size of the house purchased in 2018 alone.

What renovation work was reported?

In 2019, The Real Deal reported that permits listed interior finish improvements, an electrical-system upgrade, and two new furnaces at the acquired home. It also described planned plumbing updates in the laundry room, kitchen, and three bathrooms. Mansion Global reported that repairs were underway. The reporting does not establish which planned work was completed or the house’s current condition.

Can you see the house’s interior?

Not from the available reporting. Architectural Digest wrote on June 4, 2019: “Because the sale took place off-market, images of Dorsey’s new home aren’t quite available”. That statement concerned image availability at the time; it is not evidence about what may be available now. The published descriptions and renovation reports do not provide a verified current interior layout or tour.

What remains unverified?

The 2019 coverage does not establish whether Dorsey still owns either residence, whether the reported work was completed, or the property’s present value. Those questions should not be answered by treating old purchase and permit reporting as current information.
