No Sawzall blade in the sources reviewed is verified for cutting tires. Milwaukee lists one straight reciprocating-saw blade for foam rubber, but does not say it is suitable for tires. A tire-specific blade does exist from WIKUS, but it is a band-saw blade, not a Sawzall blade. For commercial tire processing, purpose-built machinery is a separate option.
Is any Sawzall blade verified for cutting tires?
Not by the manufacturer information available here. Milwaukee’s straight reciprocating-saw blade listing says: “The Straight blade can be used to cut Styrofoam, foam rubber, leather, soft plastics, insulation, felt and cardboard.” It does not mention tires. Foam rubber and a tire are not interchangeable application claims, so that listing is not evidence of tire compatibility.
Milwaukee’s broader Sawzall blade catalog separates products by application, including multi-material and metal-cutting families. Those descriptions do not establish that any of those blades is suitable for tire cutting. No source reviewed identifies a Sawzall blade as the best choice for tires.
How the identified products differ
| Product or equipment | Tool format | Manufacturer-stated material or application | What that means for tire cutting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Milwaukee straight blade | Straight reciprocating-saw blade | Foam rubber, Styrofoam, leather, soft plastics, insulation, felt and cardboard (Milwaukee product listing) | Tires are not named; tire suitability is not established. |
| WIKUS TCTYRE | Carbide band-saw blade | Rubber and metal composites, including tires (WIKUS product information) | It is explicitly tire-specific, but it is not a Sawzall blade. |
| Bosch vehicle rescue blade | Reciprocating-saw blade | Automotive steel (Bosch product information) | Its steel application does not establish suitability for tire cutting. |
| EECO and Eagle International tire-processing products | Purpose-built processing machinery | Tire processing (EECO; Eagle International) | A commercial equipment category, not a handheld blade alternative. |
What to choose instead
If you need a handheld Sawzall blade
The available manufacturer claims do not support recommending one for tires. Do not treat Milwaukee’s foam-rubber listing or Bosch’s automotive-steel application as a tire-cutting endorsement. Check the blade manufacturer’s current application guidance for the exact material and task before selecting a blade.
#1 Best Overall

- 【Arc Edge Design】Innovative arc edge design and triple-ground offset teeth profile provides 3 cutting angles to reduce friction for a smooth and controlled cut when cutting through larger branches and limbs.
- 【Fleam Ground Teeth】This reciprocating saw blade features sharp, aggressive fleam-ground teeth and deep gullets for efficient cutting, with a tooth design that ensures a 3x longer lifetime.
- 【Cutting Capacity】The 6TPI teeth profile and tooth pitch (4.1mm) will cut in variety of materials including wet wood, dry wood, green timber and firewood up to 300mm in diameter. Blade length is 370mm with a working length of 320mm.
- 【Universal Shank】EZARC Japanese Teeth Reciprocating Saw Blades are compatible with most major reciprocating saw brands, including DeWalt, Bosch, Makita, Black & Decker, Milwaukee, Porter Cable, Skil, Hitachi, and Metabo. Currently not compatible with Ryobi reciprocating saws.
If you need a tire-specific blade
WIKUS describes TCTYRE as a carbide band-saw blade for rubber and metal composites, including tires. It is intended for a band saw, so it does not answer the question of which blade to put in a Sawzall.
If you process tires commercially
EECO and Eagle International list purpose-built tire-processing equipment. These systems should be evaluated as machinery for commercial work, rather than treated as interchangeable with a handheld reciprocating saw and blade.

- Flexible 0.035 In. thin blade body – provide accurate cuts, easier starts and reduced breakage
Safety and operating guidance
The sources reviewed do not provide an authoritative operating procedure or safety instructions for cutting tires with a handheld reciprocating saw. The product listings above do not establish that such a method is safe. Do not infer a cutting technique, blade setup, or protective procedure from a listing for a different material or tool format; obtain guidance specific to the equipment and tire-processing task.
