Check your saw’s exact model against the fence maker’s compatibility chart, including whether installation requires modification, before ordering. Use your existing fence first as a baseline: some saws already include useful features.
Do you need an aftermarket bandsaw fence?
Start by checking what your saw already has and what is missing from your work. A fence upgrade may be worthwhile if your current fence is difficult to align, cannot be adjusted for blade drift, or does not give you a suitable height or profile for the cuts you make. If your saw’s existing fence already meets those needs, replacing it may add little.
For example, Rikon lists a 6-inch-tall rip fence with a resaw bar as included equipment on its 10-324TG. Inspect the fence and any supplied resaw feature on your own machine before buying an accessory.
How to check whether a fence will fit your bandsaw
- Identify the exact saw model. Use the model name or number on the machine or in its manual; a nominal wheel size alone is not enough to establish compatibility.
- Check the fence maker’s model chart. Kreg’s compatibility chart separates models that fit directly, fit with modification, or do not fit. It includes model-specific entries such as the Laguna LT14/LT14SE and LT18, which require modification.
- Confirm the mounting and any required changes. Read the instructions for your model’s fit category and determine whether the installation work is acceptable to you. Do not assume that saws from the same brand share the same mounting arrangement.
- Ask about your specific model if it is unclear. Kreg’s official FAQ even addresses the model-specific question, “Will it fit my Rikon 14””. Use that kind of exact-model check rather than relying on the label “14-inch.”
Kreg says its KMS7200 Precision Band Saw Fence fits most 14-inch saws directly and can be modified for many others; that is not a promise of universal fit. Check the current chart and product information for your saw before purchase.

What to compare between fence options
Compare the features you will actually use, and verify each one for the specific fence. Kreg lists the following on the KMS7200; they should not be assumed to come with every competing fence.

| Mounting and removal | Confirm how the fence attaches, whether the mounting suits your saw, and how readily the fence can be removed when you need the table clear. |
| Fit category and included parts | Verify direct fit versus required modification for your exact model, and check which hardware or accessories are included rather than assuming they are. |
Kreg KMS7200: a concrete example, not a universal fit
Kreg describes its KMS7200 Precision Band Saw Fence as adjustable for blade drift and perpendicularity to the table. It has a two-position fence and a precision lens cursor. Those are useful comparison points when assessing another option, but the decisive question remains whether the KMS7200 fits your particular saw and mounting arrangement.

Resaw guides: check the fence they are made for
A resaw guide is not automatically compatible with every bandsaw fence. Kreg’s current 7-inch KMS7214 has a curved guide face, is made of anodized aluminum, and is described as compatible with the Kreg Precision Band Saw Fence. The Kreg manual says the resaw guide is intended only for the KMS7200 fence.

Kreg’s 4 1/2-inch KMS7213 resaw guide is marked discontinued on its official product page. Its manual also says it is intended only for the KMS7200 fence, so do not treat it as a general-purpose guide or assume it is available new.

- Support long boards at both ends.
- Keep the workpiece against both the table and the fence.
- Set the upper blade guide 1/4 inch above the workpiece.
- Use a push block to finish the cut.
A practical buying checklist
- Have the exact bandsaw model number, not just its wheel size or brand.
- Check the fence maker’s current compatibility chart and note whether your saw is listed for direct fit, modification, or no fit.
- Compare drift adjustment, squareness adjustment, fence height or profile, measuring features, mounting and removal, and included parts.
- Inspect the fence and resaw equipment already supplied with your saw.
- For an accessory guide, confirm which fence model it is designed to fit and follow both accessory and saw manuals.
