In its 2024 annual-report disclosure, Midea identified Midea Holding as its controlling shareholder and He Xiangjian as its actual controller. Midea appliances are made through a multinational production network; the company’s public footprint does not establish where any particular model was assembled.
Who owns Midea?
Midea Group Co., Ltd. is the parent company behind the Midea brand. In its 2024 annual report, the company identified Midea Holding as its controlling shareholder and He Xiangjian as its actual controller.
Those terms describe corporate control; they do not mean that He Xiangjian owns the entire company or is its sole owner. Midea is publicly listed, so its shares are held by shareholders. The ownership disclosure cited here is from the 2024 annual report and does not, by itself, establish whether the structure has changed since then.
Where are Midea appliances made?
Midea uses a broad manufacturing network in China and overseas, rather than making every appliance in one country. Its corporate profile describes major production bases across its worldwide operations. In its 2025 interim report, Midea said it increased production capacity during the first half of 2025 in:

These are examples of countries where capacity increased during that period, not a complete list of Midea factories. The disclosure does not say that a specific appliance, model, or unit sold in a particular market was made in any one of them.
How to find where your Midea appliance was made
Check the country-of-origin label on the appliance or its packaging, then compare the model number with the product documentation for the unit and market where it was sold. A group-wide factory footprint cannot reliably identify the assembly country of an individual refrigerator, air conditioner, washer, or other appliance.

What products does Midea make?
Midea’s official product descriptions cover air treatment, including residential and commercial air conditioning; refrigeration; laundry; large and small kitchen and cooking appliances; water appliances; floor care; and lighting. Its corporate profile also describes Midea as a global technology group spanning smart home, industrial technology, building technologies, robotics and automation, energy, healthcare, and smart logistics. These broad categories and business segments do not mean that every product type is made at the same factory.
