1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteVerdict: Segway’s Navimow can make lawn care dramatically easier, but it is not a maintenance-free appliance. The original Tech Advisor test found the wire-free Navimow H1500E quiet, effective and easy to schedule. It also exposed the conditions behind that convenience: reliable satellite visibility, careful mapping, a suitable route between lawn areas and occasional trimming of an uncut perimeter strip.
That review, published May 24, 2023, tested an older H-series mower—not the entire Navimow range sold in 2026. Newer i2, H2 and X4 models add combinations of all-wheel drive, LiDAR, vision and Network RTK. The right purchase still depends more on your lawn’s shape, borders and signal conditions than on the Navimow name alone.

Segway Navimow i206 AWD Robot Lawn Mower, New i105N, 0.15 Acre, 45% Slopes | $999.00 | Buy on Amazon |
What exactly did the original review test?
Tech Advisor tested the Segway Navimow H1500E, a GNSS/GPS mower rated for lawns up to 1,500 square metres (about 0.37 acre). The review cited a 7.8Ah lithium battery, a 21cm cutting width and a reported price of €1,999. That price and availability are historical, not a current US buying quote. Read the original hands-on review at Tech Advisor.
Navimow is a product family, not one unchanged machine. In 2026, Segway’s US range includes i1, i2, H2 and X4 models with different capacities, navigation systems and prices.

How wire-free mowing works
The H1500E uses satellite positioning and a separate GNSS antenna to create a virtual boundary. You map the grass in the app instead of burying or pegging perimeter wire. The mower then follows that digital map, returns to its charging station and works to a schedule.
“Wire-free” does not mean installation-free. The H1500E still needs a powered charging station, a well-positioned antenna, manual mapping and configured no-go areas and connecting channels. Some newer models can use Network RTK and may avoid a local antenna where coverage is available, but coverage is location-dependent. Segway says buyers should check service by postcode at its US site.
What the H1500E hands-on test proved
- The reviewer found it very quiet; Segway’s stated figure was 54 dB(A).
- The app adjusted cutting height from 3 to 6cm.
- In one test it covered 16m² in approximately 15 minutes and produced even zigzag coverage.
- It returned automatically to recharge and supported scheduling, rain sensing, nighttime light dimming, battery status and progress monitoring.
- It mulched clippings onto the lawn rather than collecting them.
- A red stop button, blade shutoff system and anti-theft alerts were included.
These are observations of the H1500E, not guarantees for every current Navimow model. Noise varies with distance, grass and blade condition, while app labels and safety features vary by model, country and firmware.
Setup: easier than boundary wire, but not effortless
- Mow the lawn to 6cm or shorter.
- Remove toys, branches and other obstacles.
- Install the Navimow app and create an account.
- Place the charging station on level ground near power.
- Install the GNSS antenna with broad sky visibility, or confirm Network RTK coverage for a supported newer model.
- Pair and calibrate the mower. If positioning is poor, relocate the station or antenna and repeat calibration.
- Use the app’s virtual controls to guide the mower around the boundary. The review says the operator may need to stand about 6m behind it while mapping.
- Create no-go islands and channels between connected lawn areas, enter the mower PIN and run a test session.
- Set cutting height, schedule and rain behaviour.
Is your lawn suitable?
Good candidates
- Open grass with a broad view of the sky.
- Mostly flat or moderately sloped terrain within the chosen model’s specification.
- One large area or lawn sections joined by a flat, mower-accessible corridor.
- Low borders and a willingness to trim inaccessible edges occasionally.
- A permanent, powered location for the station.
Problem cases
- Dense trees, tall hedges, walls or buildings that obstruct satellite visibility.
- Steps, raised beds, curbs, gravel, cobbles or narrow passages between areas.
- Steep banks beyond the exact model rating.
- Grass running directly against walls or tall borders.
- Frequent toys, pet waste, hoses or furniture left on the lawn.
- A small or highly irregular lawn where the purchase cannot repay the time saved.
The edge-cutting catch
The H1500E review found an approximately 15cm unmown strip beside walls, fences, hedges and tall borders. The robot can keep the main lawn consistently short while leaving visible work around the perimeter. Plan on a string trimmer or edger from time to time; “automated mowing” is not the same as perfectly finished borders. Newer models may advertise improved edge performance, but check the exact model specification rather than assuming the H1500E result applies.
Navigation, slopes and connectivity
Satellite or RTK positioning can weaken around trees, structures and narrow corridors. A green station indicator does not guarantee successful mapping, and a technically wire-free system can still require a carefully chosen installation site. Network RTK, 4G, LiDAR, cameras and local antennas are model- and region-specific.
Be careful with slope units. The original Tech Advisor page uses “45 degrees” in places, while current Segway pages commonly state 45% (about 24 degrees) for some models; 45% is not 45 degrees. Segway’s X4 range is advertised at up to 84%/40 degrees. Use the manufacturer’s exact specification for the mower you are buying. See the i2 AWD page and current Navimow listings.
Maintenance, weather and safety
Navimow reduces routine mowing; it does not remove maintenance. Inspect and replace blades, clear obstacles, keep pet waste off the lawn, clean and store the machine as directed, and expect occasional app, mapping or signal troubleshooting. Cut overgrown grass conventionally before starting a regular robot schedule. The H1500E review reported IPX6 protection and rain-sensor behaviour, but water resistance is not permission to mow saturated ground or withstand flooding.
- Keep children and pets away during setup, cleaning and blade work.
- Never put hands under an active mower or one connected to power.
- Do not assume obstacle detection protects every animal, cable or garden object.
- Follow the model manual for lifting, storage, emergency stops and blade replacement.

Likely failure modes and fixes
Poor positioning or failed calibration
Move the station and antenna into a more open area, rerun calibration and verify RTK coverage if using a supported network-connected model. An extension or signal accessory helps only when compatible with that model.
The mower cannot reach another lawn
Check for a genuinely flat, passable corridor. Curbs, cobbles, steps and unsuitable transitions can make a mapped channel unusable. Move the mower manually between zones only if the product and app support that workflow.
Overgrown or wet grass
Cut long grass conventionally first. In wet conditions, distinguish the machine’s water-resistance rating from turf health, traction and the manufacturer’s mowing guidance.

Choose a newer Navimow
The i2 AWD suits buyers needing more traction; the i215 LiDAR targets medium lawns and LiDAR-assisted navigation; H2 models serve larger budgets and lawns; X430 and X450 are aimed at roughly one to 1.5 acres. Confirm slope, edge, RTK and obstacle specifications for the exact model.
Consider Worx Landroid
Worx offers boundary-wire and alternative-navigation models, with options such as obstacle avoidance, off-limits zones, radio connectivity and theft tracking depending on region and model. Its official range is at Worx Landroid. Boundary-wire versions may require more physical installation but can suit a clearly defined lawn.
Use a conventional mower
A battery or electric mower remains sensible for a small, fragmented or occasionally overgrown lawn, or for anyone who does not want an app-dependent appliance and permanent charging station.
Who should buy Navimow?
- Buy: if you have open, connected grass, can verify signal conditions, accept occasional edge trimming and value months of quiet scheduled maintenance.
- Buy cautiously: if the lawn is moderately complex, shaded or sloped; select a model only after checking its exact navigation and terrain limits.
- Reconsider: if the property has steps, fragmented sections, heavy obstructions, poor sky visibility, frequent pet waste or a need for perfectly flush edges.
Final verdict
The H1500E review was right about the core experience: a suitable lawn can stay quietly maintained with far less effort than a conventional mower and without installing boundary wire. It was not evidence that every yard becomes effortless. In 2026, choose Navimow by matching capacity, navigation technology, slope rating and connectivity to the property—not by buying the largest model or relying on the old H1500E review alone.
