The best wall printer depends on the wall height, substrate, transport needs and service support you can accept. For lower-cost mobile work, Vertiq’s Nova, Immersive Dual and Apex are the least expensive machines in this comparison, each listed for prints up to 2.4 m high. For very tall graphics, Vertical Printers’ VP-G6 is listed for extensions up to 16 ft. SurfacePix’s wallPen E2 Pro is the portable premium option, with a stated 13-ft height and white ink for demanding surfaces. Compare the complete operating package—not DPI alone—before choosing.
What a wall printing machine actually does
A wall printer is a vertical UV inkjet system. Its printhead moves horizontally while the frame indexes upward, and UV LEDs cure ink as it is deposited. Vendors describe these systems as printing directly on relatively flat drywall, brick, concrete, glass, tile, wood and similar surfaces.
That broad material list does not mean every machine prints every wall without preparation. Texture, dust, moisture, gloss, color and access around the wall affect adhesion, alignment and color. Ask the supplier for a sample on your actual substrate before placing an order.

These machines fit installers who move between rooms, retail sites or customer properties and can accept repositioning for wide murals. The published material does not establish each model’s printhead, speed mode, ink cost, warranty package or included training, so obtain those details in writing. Freight, site preparation, ink, cleaning supplies and service are additional budget items unless your quotation says otherwise.
Tall graphics and large walls: Vertical Printers VP-G6
Vertical Printers lists the VP-G6 at $48,000–$55,000 and claims variable vertical extensions with a maximum print height of 16 ft. The product page specifies a Ricoh Gen 6 printhead and a pressurized ink system. That height range makes it the clearest fit here for a single tall wall where minimizing frame extensions or repeated repositioning matters.
The 16-ft figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified production result. Confirm the exact extension configuration, working envelope, alignment procedure and crew needed for your wall before treating it as a one-person installation.
Established package with written five-year terms: The Wall Printer
The Wall Printer lists its Pro Series at $44,995 and Tech Series at $39,995 for walls and other vertical surfaces. The company states a five-year manufacturer warranty for both series under its written terms; read the exclusions, consumables coverage, labor provisions and response-time commitments before purchase.

How to choose the right machine
1. Match height to the tallest uninterrupted section
Measure the highest section you expect to print, including skirting, ledges and ceiling obstructions. A machine shorter than that section must be extended, moved or both. Every repositioning introduces setup and registration work, so compare the labor of those moves with the premium for a taller frame.
Rank #2

- [Warranty & Support] We offer 24/7 online support featuring a team of professional engineers (covering setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting). Refer to the warranty documentation for full details.
2. Confirm the surface and white-ink workflow
White or light, opaque walls may need only the vendor’s standard color process. Dark, strongly colored or transparent substrates generally need a white underlayer so CMYK colors remain visible and accurate. Confirm whether white ink is standard, optional or unavailable; how it is circulated; and what priming, cleaning and curing steps your chosen brick, concrete, glass or tile requires.
3. Evaluate printhead architecture and real speed
DPI is only one output variable. Printhead width, pass count, drop size, curing strategy, color-channel layout and the selected speed mode determine how long a job takes. The Wall Printer’s Tech page publishes a 2,880-DPI ceiling, but that number does not by itself establish throughput or image quality relative to a different head. Ask each vendor for a timed demonstration using your approximate image size, resolution, number of passes and white-ink setting.
4. Check transport and site access
For contract work, measure doorways, elevators, stairwells and vehicle loading space. Compare total weight, number of cases, rail length, wheel design, leveling method and the time required to square the frame against the wall. The wallPen E2 Pro’s stated six-bag format and Vertiq’s mobile positioning are useful starting points, but your crew still needs a documented loading and setup procedure.

Request the exact RIP or control software, supported file formats, color-management process, calibration routine, update policy and training hours. Ask who diagnoses banding, nozzle loss, poor adhesion and alignment errors when you are at a customer site, and whether remote support is available in your operating region.
6. Read the warranty and spare-parts terms
Ask whether the warranty covers the printhead, UV LEDs, pumps, rails, electronics, travel labor and software. The Wall Printer states five-year terms for Pro and Tech; other vendors in this comparison require a direct quotation for package and support details. Obtain lead times and prices for spare printheads, dampers, filters, wipers and approved ink before committing.

The machine price is the starting point. Build a project and annual budget that includes:
- UV color and white ink, including waste during purging and calibration
- Cleaning fluid, filters, dampers, wipers and other routine consumables
- Printhead replacement and technician labor
- Freight, insurance, import charges, installation and operator training
- Wall preparation, masking, protection of floors and surrounding finishes
- Transport cases, vehicle space and labor for loading and setup
- Software, computer hardware, calibration tools and network requirements
- Downtime while a clogged nozzle, alignment fault or curing problem is corrected
No independent audited lifecycle-cost study is cited for these models. Treat profitability, speed, durability and ink-cost statements as vendor claims until you have verified them under your own operating conditions.

- Document the work. Record wall dimensions, substrate, color, texture, moisture condition, access constraints, indoor or outdoor location and the tallest uninterrupted print.
- Set a technical minimum. Specify required height, white-ink capability, acceptable repositioning time, color channels, file workflow and daily operating window before comparing prices.
- Request matching demonstrations. Send the same artwork and substrate description to each vendor and ask for a live print showing the proposed resolution, pass count, speed mode and white-ink process.
- Get a delivered quotation. Separate machine, rail or extension, software, ink, training, freight, installation, warranty and service charges so packages can be compared fairly.
- Verify support in writing. Confirm response times, spare-part availability, technician coverage, warranty exclusions and the procedure for a failed printhead or canceled job.
- Test a representative wall. Approve adhesion, color, registration, cleanup and curing on the same type of wall your customers will provide before purchasing.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose Vertiq Nova, Immersive Dual or Apex when your priority is the lowest published entry price and your jobs can be handled within a 2.4-m print height with repositioning for width.
- Choose the VP-G6 when a claimed 16-ft capability and variable extensions address tall, continuous graphics and your budget supports a higher-priced system.
- Choose The Wall Printer Tech Series when its published Epson DX7, six-channel configuration and 7-ft 2-in or 8-ft 8-in rail options match your work and the written five-year terms are valuable.
- Choose The Wall Printer Pro Series when you want the company’s higher-priced package but need the supplier to document the Pro configuration, height and speed before ordering.
- Choose the wallPen E2 Pro when portability, a stated 13-ft height and integrated CMYK-plus-white capability justify requesting a custom quotation.
For any option, make the final decision from a substrate-matched demonstration and a written delivered-cost and support package, not from a DPI figure or headline price alone.
