The kit did not list motion detection, an audible siren, or environmental temperature and humidity monitoring. Those omissions matter if the goal is broader security or whole-home monitoring.

That made the Security Kit a better fit for readers who needed more than basic entry and leak alerts. It was not automatically the better value for everyone, however. Buyers who only needed one door sensor, a leak sensor, and a smart plug could be paying for hardware they would not use.

Why the included hub matters
Both bundles included a YoLink Hub. That means the packages should not be described simply as collections of standalone Wi-Fi sensors. The hub is a central component of the system, and prospective buyers should confirm the current hub’s connectivity requirements, app and account requirements, supported platforms, and whether important automations depend on cloud services.
The 2020 source identifies the hub as part of each package but does not establish current technical specifications, compatibility, subscription requirements, battery life, or local-control capabilities.

Are the coupon codes still valid?
There is no basis to treat 50STARTLORA or UDPWSFRZ as active today. They were associated with the November 2020 promotion and are best labeled historical, unverified, and likely expired.

What to check when evaluating a current equivalent
If you are shopping for a comparable smart-home kit now, verify the live listing rather than relying on the 2020 description:
- Whether a hub is included and what connectivity it requires
- The exact number and type of sensors in the package
- Supported smart-home platforms and app requirements
- Whether automations work locally or depend on cloud services
- Any subscription or account fees
- Battery type and expected replacement needs
- How notifications and the siren behave during internet or power interruptions
- The current seller, fulfillment method, return policy, and warranty
- Whether the discount applies automatically or requires a coupon
A leak sensor can notify you about water; it does not shut off a water line unless paired with a separate compatible shutoff device. Likewise, sensors and a siren do not establish professional alarm monitoring, emergency dispatch, camera coverage, or a complete installed security system.
