It measures temperature and relative humidity, displays both readings on an LCD, and uses a replaceable CR2450 coin cell. What is the Xiaomi Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini?
The product’s official name is the Xiaomi Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini, model MJWSD06MMC. It is also commonly referred to in China as the Mijia Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor 3 Mini.

It can be used as a simple room display, or connected to Xiaomi Home/Mi Home for tracking and smart-home functions. Its main measurements are:

The device shows both values simultaneously on its LCD. Xiaomi lists a temperature resolution of 0.1°C and humidity resolution of 1% RH. Those are resolution figures, not a guarantee of laboratory-grade accuracy.

How small is it?
The monitor measures 53 × 45.3 × 13 mm and weighs 30 g. Its LCD viewing area is listed as 42.8 × 35.1 mm, with a 5.1-mm bezel.
That makes it practical for a bedside table, office, shelf, rental property, or travel bag. However, it is not the same size as the older Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2. The often-repeated dimensions of 43 × 43 × 12.5 mm belong to that earlier model, not the 3 Mini.
The package includes wall adhesive for mounting. It can also sit on a surface, but Xiaomi’s FAQ distinguishes it from the larger Monitor 3, which has a different stand arrangement. There is no included magnetic mount.

Battery life: two years normally, three years in saving mode
The monitor uses one pre-installed, replaceable CR2450 coin cell. Xiaomi’s estimates are:

The three-year figure should be treated as a manufacturer estimate, not a guaranteed ownership result. Battery life can be affected by cold conditions, frequent Bluetooth communication, gateway use, rapid changes in temperature or humidity, battery age, and how often the app synchronizes.

Buyers who need responsive automations should weigh that delay against the convenience of fewer battery changes.
What does it measure?
- Temperature range: 0–60°C
- Humidity range: 0–99% RH
- Temperature resolution: 0.1°C
- Humidity resolution: 1% RH
- Display refresh: approximately every six seconds
Xiaomi presents 19–27°C and 20–85% RH as indoor comfort ranges. The monitor is intended for household comfort tracking and healthy-living reference data. It should not replace calibrated equipment for medical, laboratory, food-safety, HVAC commissioning, or other safety-critical work.
A display refresh every six seconds is not the same as continuous high-frequency cloud logging. Xiaomi says standard-mode data sent through a Bluetooth Mesh gateway may update every one to five minutes, while battery-saving mode may update every three to 13 minutes.

Does it need a gateway?
For basic local use, the monitor can show readings on its screen. It connects to Xiaomi Home/Mi Home over Bluetooth for app-based features.
For remote viewing, cloud history, and automations involving other Xiaomi appliances, Xiaomi says a compatible Bluetooth Mesh gateway is required. The gateway is sold separately. Compatible examples may include automations that turn on a fan when a room becomes hot or activate a humidifier when humidity falls below a threshold.
The monitor, gateway, and controlled appliance generally need to be compatible with Xiaomi Home, associated with the same Xiaomi account, and assigned to compatible app regions. Xiaomi’s FAQ gives a gateway-distance guideline of no more than approximately 5 metres in the stated setup.
This means the 3 Mini is not a standalone Wi-Fi sensor. It is a better fit for someone already using Xiaomi’s ecosystem than for a buyer expecting direct Wi-Fi, Matter, Zigbee, or universal Home Assistant compatibility.
Data history and Fahrenheit support
Xiaomi says the monitor can retain up to three months of temperature and humidity data after connection to Xiaomi Home, while cloud storage can retain data for up to six months. The device records approximately one local data point per hour; gateway-connected data can be generated and uploaded more frequently.

That makes it useful for spotting household patterns—such as a persistently damp room—but it is not necessarily a continuous, high-resolution scientific data logger.
Fahrenheit is supported. After adding the monitor to Xiaomi Home/Mi Home, open the device page and use the temperature-unit control to select Fahrenheit. The exact label and menu location may vary by region, app version, and localization.
Where should you use it?
The monitor is designed for ordinary indoor rooms. It may be useful in bedrooms, offices, living rooms, storage areas, or dry indoor spaces where temperature and humidity affect comfort or materials.
It is not waterproof, and its official operating range begins at 0°C. Therefore:
- Do not submerge it or expose it to direct water.
- A dry bathroom may be possible if it is protected from splashes and heavy condensation, but a wet location is a poor fit.
- Do not use it in a freezer or another environment below 0°C.
- Do not treat it as an outdoor weather sensor without protection from rain, condensation, sunlight, and out-of-range temperatures.
- It does not include a magnet for attaching to a refrigerator door.
Availability and pricing
The product was announced in China in February 2025, with launch reporting citing a 29.9-yuan crowdfunding price and a 34.9-yuan suggested retail price. A later German retail report listed a price of €14.99 in 2026.

Those figures are regional and date-specific. They should not be treated as a current US price, and Xiaomi’s global product page does not establish US retail stock, local warranty coverage, or a US checkout option. Check your country’s Xiaomi store or authorized retailers before buying.

Common setup problems
The app cannot find the monitor
- Remove the battery insulation film.
- Enable Bluetooth and place the phone close to the monitor.
- Check that it is not already bound to another Xiaomi account.
- Confirm that Xiaomi Home is set to a region supporting the product.
- Press the side button to activate Bluetooth broadcasting.
- Hold the side button for seven seconds to reset the monitor before trying to bind it again.
Automation does not trigger
Check for a compatible Bluetooth Mesh gateway, compatible app regions, the same Xiaomi account, and a suitable distance between the monitor and gateway. Also check whether the controlled appliance supports the required Xiaomi Home automation. Battery-saving mode may delay the readings that trigger an automation.

Review the operating environment and communication pattern. Cold temperatures, frequent gateway or app activity, rapid environmental changes, and an old or poor-quality CR2450 can all reduce real-world endurance. Xiaomi’s “up to” ratings are reference values rather than guarantees.
Is it worth buying?
The Xiaomi Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini is a sensible choice for Xiaomi Home users who want an inexpensive indoor display, long battery life, and basic comfort tracking. Its screen means it remains useful without opening an app, while the small size and adhesive mounting suit renters and people monitoring several rooms.
It is less suitable if you need direct Wi-Fi, Matter or Zigbee compatibility, outdoor or freezer monitoring, waterproofing, indefinite data history, or calibrated measurement. The separate gateway requirement is the most important hidden cost and compatibility issue.
For construction, property maintenance, and household use, it can help identify uncomfortable or persistently humid rooms. It should support decisions such as when to ventilate or investigate dampness, but it should not be used alone to diagnose moisture intrusion or certify environmental conditions.
