The 1.5-horsepower inverter split air conditioner adds outdoor-air ventilation, filtration, UV-C sterilization and CO₂ monitoring—features that distinguish it from a conventional recirculating wall-mounted AC.
It went on sale in China on April 2, 2021. The often-quoted price of approximately $540–$547 was a contemporary currency conversion, not an official US retail price. No evidence confirms an official US launch or overseas warranty support.

What Xiaomi launched
The product is called 米家新风空调尊享版 in Chinese. It is variously rendered in English as the MIJIA Fresh Air Conditioner Premium Edition, Mijia Fresh Air Air Conditioner Premium Edition or Mi Smart AC with Ventilation. “Premium Edition” describes its mainland-China product tier and should not be assumed to be a global retail name.

Despite the “fresh air” branding, this is fundamentally a wall-mounted split air conditioner with an added ventilation system—not a standalone air purifier or a whole-home mechanical ventilation system.

- Inverter cooling and heating;
- Outdoor-air intake at up to 60 m³/h; and
- Air purification and UV-C deep-ultraviolet sterilization.

A product listing identifies the model as KFR-35GW/F1A1 and reports approximately 3,500 W rated cooling capacity and 5,000 W rated heating capacity. Those figures come from the listing and should not automatically be treated as universal specifications for every regional version.
How the fresh-air system differs from normal AC operation
Most split air conditioners mainly recirculate indoor air: they cool or heat the room’s existing air and return it indoors. Xiaomi’s Premium Edition adds a dual-hybrid turbine fresh-air system intended to draw outdoor air into the room. Xiaomi said that incoming air passes through the appliance’s filtration system before entering the space.
The stated maximum is 60 m³/h, not a guaranteed continuous rate in every mode. Its practical effect depends on the room’s volume, occupancy, door and window leakage, outdoor pollution, filter condition and whether fresh-air mode is actually running.
For example, 60 m³/h can be meaningful ventilation for a bedroom or small room, but it should not be treated as sufficient ventilation for an entire large home without calculating the required airflow. A dedicated whole-home system may provide higher or balanced airflow across several rooms.
What the 99.9% sterilization claim means
Xiaomi claimed that the UV-C system achieved 99.9% sterilization under its stated test conditions. That wording should not be simplified to “the AC kills 99.9% of germs in every home.” The available launch material does not establish the test organism, exposure time, airflow setting, test-room size, whether the result measured a single pass through the appliance or a whole-room reduction, or whether the same result applies in cooling, heating, ventilation and sleep modes.
Nor does the claim mean medical-grade disinfection of every surface or guaranteed removal of viruses from a lived-in room. The UV-C source is described as part of the appliance, but the available evidence does not verify lamp life, service procedures or detailed safety interlocks. Users should never expose themselves to an operating UV-C source.
The CO₂ display is a useful differentiator
A small health display shows indoor temperature and real-time CO₂ concentration. That gives the ventilation feature a practical feedback signal: rising CO₂ can indicate that a room needs more outdoor air, particularly when occupied.
However, the available sources do not establish the sensor’s accuracy, calibration interval, warning thresholds or whether the app can automatically adjust ventilation based on CO₂. The display should therefore be treated as an indicator, not as a certified indoor-air-quality measurement.
Energy efficiency and capacity
Xiaomi described the unit as a 1.5-horsepower model with China’s new first-class energy-efficiency rating. One contemporary report mentioned potential annual savings of 449 kWh, but the assumptions behind that estimate were not independently established. Actual electricity use will vary with climate, insulation, set temperature, heating or cooling demand, runtime, occupancy, ventilation use, UV-C operation and filter cleanliness.

The 1.5-HP rating may suit a bedroom or smaller living area, but proper sizing still depends on local climate, solar exposure, insulation, room dimensions and the building’s heat load. Horsepower alone is not a substitute for an installation calculation.
Installation considerations for construction and renovation projects
The fresh-air function makes installation more involved than fitting a conventional split AC. The project may require:
- Access to an exterior wall for the outdoor-air intake;
- Wall penetration and suitable sleeve or duct routing;
- Confirmation of wall thickness and existing opening dimensions;
- Outdoor-unit placement and condensate drainage;
- Electrical compatibility with local voltage and frequency;
- Building-management or façade approval; and
- Access to filters, service components and replacement parts.
Launch reports mentioned dedicated installation services, but they do not establish that all installation work was included in the ¥3,599 price. International projects should also verify refrigerant standards, electrical requirements, Chinese-language controls, Mi Home regional support, local certification, warranty coverage and authorized service before specifying the unit.
Premium Edition versus the later standard model
This product should not be confused with Xiaomi’s later standard Mijia Fresh Air Conditioner. Contemporary coverage reported up to 40 m³/h of fresh-air flow for the standard model, compared with 60 m³/h for the Premium Edition, along with a different sterilization approach. The models should be compared by model number and technical documentation rather than by the word “Premium” alone.
The Premium Edition’s original launch price also should not be mistaken for a current price. The product was launched in 2021, and current stock, support status, replacement-filter availability and retailer pricing are not established here.

The unit is most relevant to buyers who want cooling, heating and limited-rate outdoor-air ventilation in one wall-mounted appliance. It may appeal to occupants of small rooms who want to reduce stale air without opening windows in hot, cold, noisy or polluted conditions, especially if they already use Xiaomi’s smart-home ecosystem.
It is a weaker fit for projects requiring independently documented removal of specific pollutants, medical-grade infection control, high-volume whole-home ventilation, or locally supported equipment with clear warranty and filter supply.
Bottom line
The MIJIA Fresh Air Conditioner Premium Edition was a genuine Xiaomi mainland-China launch on March 30, 2021, priced at ¥3,599 and released for sale on April 2. Its notable feature is the combination of a 1.5-HP split AC with up to 60 m³/h of claimed outdoor-air ventilation, filtration, UV-C functionality and CO₂ monitoring.
Its value depends on treating those figures realistically: 60 m³/h is a maximum appliance claim rather than whole-home ventilation, while the 99.9% figure is Xiaomi’s sterilization claim under stated test conditions. For an overseas construction or renovation project, installation access, electrical standards, app support, servicing and filters may matter more than the historical converted dollar price.
