The reported China sale date was April 20, 2026; the available information does not confirm availability outside China.
What is the Mijia Garment Steamer 2?
It is a second-generation Mijia garment-care appliance introduced through Xiaomi’s Youpin platform, according to iXBT’s April 2, 2026 report. The product is also rendered in English-language coverage as “Mijia Ironing Machine 2.” IT之家 reported that it went on sale in China on April 20, 2026.
The word “handheld” can cause confusion: Xiaomi lists a separate foldable handheld steamer, model MJGTJ02LF. Its specifications should not be attributed to the Garment Steamer 2. Xiaomi’s global product page for MJGTJ02LF lists 30 kPa pressure and steam output of 20±4 g/min.

Price and China launch timing
iXBT reported a 509-yuan introductory crowdfunding price, with crowdfunding scheduled to begin April 6, 2026, and a standard price of 599 yuan. IT之家 later reported the China sale began April 20, 2026, at a suggested retail price of 599 yuan. These are dated China-market prices, not confirmation of a current offer elsewhere.

Hygiene claims and limits
Coverage attributes claims of 99.99% sterilization or bacteria removal and 100% mite removal to Xiaomi. IT之家 describes the mite and bacteria claims in connection with a three-minute high-temperature ironing process. These are manufacturer-attributed claims reported in news coverage, not independently established health outcomes or a guarantee that every use will produce those results.
