Its main distinction is a split filtration system: an upper module for everyday particle purification and a lower module focused on formaldehyde treatment. Xiaomi-reported figures include particulate CADR of up to 1,461 m3/h, formaldehyde CADR of up to 1,000 m3/h, and a stated application area of 87–150 m2.
Those numbers are manufacturer-reported rather than independently verified in the available launch coverage. For construction and renovation projects, the purifier may be relevant after cabinetry, flooring, adhesives, and composite wood products are installed—but it should supplement source control and ventilation, not replace them.

What launched?
The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro is a standalone Xiaomi/Mijia model, separate from the standard Mijia Air Purifier 6. Xiaomi’s Chinese shopping ecosystem lists the Pro model and a corresponding replacement filter, confirming that it is not merely a leaked name or search fragment.
Launch reports dated December 29–30, 2025, put the China pre-sale price at ¥2,399. The available evidence does not establish a US, European, or worldwide launch, local certification, international warranty, or compatibility with non-China Xiaomi smart-home regions.

Xiaomi’s product and replacement-filter listing confirms the product ecosystem, while the detailed specifications below come from launch coverage and should be read as advertised claims.
Why the dual-module design matters
Most residential air purifiers use one main filter assembly to address several pollutant types. The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro is reported to divide that work between two modules:
- Upper module: general daily purification, including dust, particulate pollution, and other common indoor contaminants.
- Lower module: a formaldehyde-focused treatment path intended for gaseous pollution associated with renovation materials and furnishings.
This separation reflects an important technical distinction. Mechanical high-efficiency filtration is suited to particles such as dust and PM2.5. Formaldehyde and many volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are gases, so they require adsorption, chemical treatment, or decomposition media rather than ordinary particle filtration.

A dedicated gas-treatment module could give Xiaomi more room for activated carbon or formaldehyde-treatment material. However, the architecture alone does not prove better real-world removal. Performance also depends on the mass and quality of the media, airflow distribution, sealing, pollutant concentration, humidity, filter loading, and test method.
What does “13-layer filtration” include?
Launch coverage describes the Pro’s system as having 13 filtration layers or stages. The accessible reports identify functions associated with:
- Pre-filtration of hair, lint, dust, and other larger particles.
- High-efficiency or nano-grade filtration for fine particles.
- Antibacterial and antiviral treatment or coating.
- Activated carbon for odors and some VOC adsorption.
- A formaldehyde-decomposition layer using an amino-reaction technology.
That is not a complete, independently verified layer-by-layer specification. The reports do not provide a full cross-section, a bill of materials, the quantity of carbon, or independent laboratory validation of every stage. “13-layer” should therefore be treated as a product-description claim—not proof that the purifier is automatically more effective than a model with fewer named stages.

For a renovation project, the distinction between adsorption, decomposition, and detection is particularly important:
Recommended Free Tools
- Adsorption traps gas molecules on a material such as activated carbon. Capacity is finite, and saturated media may need replacement.
- Decomposition refers to a claimed chemical process intended to break formaldehyde down. The available coverage does not disclose enough test detail to establish how the treatment performs over time or under all conditions.
- Detection is what a sensor attempts to estimate. A displayed formaldehyde reading is not the same as a laboratory measurement unless accuracy, calibration, cross-sensitivity, and test conditions are published.
Reported performance figures
The following figures are attributed to Xiaomi or launch coverage. They are not independent test results:
| Specification | Reported figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Particulate CADR | Up to 1,461 m3/h | Advertised clean-air delivery rate for particles. |
| Formaldehyde CADR | Up to 1,000 m3/h | Advertised clean-air delivery rate for formaldehyde under unspecified test conditions. |
| Application area | 87–150 m2 | A large-space claim affected by ceiling height, layout, doors, and air mixing. |
| Room exchange claim | About 1.5 minutes | Depends on Xiaomi’s definition of a standard room and the test setup. |
| Sleep-mode noise | 32 dB(A) | Applies to the stated sleep mode, not necessarily maximum airflow. |
| Filter life | Approximately 8–14 months | An estimate that varies with dust, smoke, pets, construction debris, and operating time. |
Launch coverage and a second reported specification summary repeat these headline figures, but do not disclose the complete laboratory protocols, airflow settings, chamber conditions, or decay standards behind them.
Why CADR is not the same as “cleans your home in 1.5 minutes”
CADR describes the rate at which a purifier delivers cleaned air under a defined test approach. It does not guarantee that every part of a home reaches the same air quality in the advertised time.
Actual results depend on room volume, ceiling height, open or closed doors, furniture, airflow obstructions, pollutant sources, fan speed, and whether the purifier can circulate air through adjacent rooms. A single unit may perform well in one open-plan area but have limited effect in closed bedrooms or behind multiple doors.
Sensors, controls, and physical design
Launch reports describe six sensors covering some combination of:

- 【Authoritative TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certified】This air purifier is proven to effectively filter out allergens, pet hair, dust, smoke and etc
- 【Integrated Filter, Up to 99.97% Filtration】This home air purifier removes at least 99.97% allergens, owing to its integrated electrostatic and activated carbon filter
- 【Very Poweful & Fast Purification】This air purifier cleans a small room in only 12 minutes & 517 sq ft in 30 minutes. Its adjustable speed allows you to clean the air as fast as you'd like
- 【Air Quality Sensor & 20dB Ultra-Quiet】You can see your air quality index in the app. You can actually feel a noticeable difference in the air quality when the purifier is on. The noise level is 33% lower than regular air purifiers. You can dim or turn off the screen for better sleep quality
- Compact & Stylish Design: 4 compact air purifies are lightweight and easy to place on a desk or hidden on the room floor. Packages are exquisite.

- PM2.5
- Dust
- Formaldehyde
- Temperature
- Humidity
The reported feature set also includes a front LCD display, remote control and monitoring through the Mi Home app, Xiaomi HyperOS ecosystem integration, Xiao Ai voice-assistant support, magnetic filter access, and caster wheels.
These functions may be useful during a renovation, particularly for checking trends, scheduling operation, and moving a tall, high-output unit between work areas. But China-market software can behave differently outside mainland China. Xiao Ai language support, Mi Home server regions, firmware updates, account requirements, Wi-Fi compatibility, and app availability should be verified before importing.
Formaldehyde after renovation: what the purifier can and cannot do
Formaldehyde can continue to off-gas from composite wood, cabinetry, flooring, adhesives, coatings, and furnishings. An air purifier can reduce airborne concentrations while it operates, but it does not remove the source inside a cabinet, wall assembly, floor, or piece of furniture.
A sensible post-renovation strategy combines:
- Source control: choose low-emitting products where possible and remove damaged or unnecessary materials.
- Ventilation: introduce outdoor air when conditions permit and use appropriate mechanical ventilation.
- Air cleaning: use filtration as a supplementary control, with the correct filter installed and adequate airflow.
- Verification: use qualified testing when occupants, building managers, or project requirements need reliable formaldehyde measurements.
Do not treat a low reading on the purifier’s display as proof that an entire home is safe. Sensor readings can vary with humidity, temperature, cleaning chemicals, cooking fumes, sensor aging, and the location of the device. A reading near the purifier may not represent air in a separate room or inside cabinetry.
Who is the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro for?
It may make sense for:
- Large rooms or open-plan homes that can benefit from high claimed particulate airflow.
- Recently renovated spaces where particles, odors, VOCs, and formaldehyde are simultaneous concerns.
- Existing Xiaomi/Mijia users who already operate a China-region smart-home ecosystem.
- Buyers comfortable managing import logistics and checking filter supply before purchase.
It may be a poor fit for:
- Small bedrooms, where a lower-output purifier may be quieter, cheaper, and easier to maintain.
- Homes divided into several closed rooms, where multiple smaller units may circulate air more effectively.
- Buyers who require local warranty service, straightforward returns, English-language support, or established local certification.
- Anyone seeking independently verified formaldehyde remediation rather than a manufacturer claim.
- Projects where replacement filters cannot be sourced reliably.
What importers should check before ordering
The ¥2,399 figure is a China pre-sale price, not a US street price. A delivered import may also involve shipping, tax, customs handling, a plug or electrical mismatch, damage risk, and limited returns.
Before buying, confirm all of the following:
- The exact model is the 6 Pro, not the standard Mijia Air Purifier 6.
- The correct Pro replacement filter is sold separately and can be delivered to your location.
- The purifier’s electrical rating and plug are suitable for the installation country.
- Mi Home operation, firmware updates, and account registration work in the intended region.
- The app, display, and Xiao Ai functions support the required language.
- The seller provides meaningful warranty and return terms.
- The final delivered cost remains reasonable after shipping and taxes.
Xiaomi lists a separate replacement-filter product page, but the available information does not establish international stock or a current replacement-filter price. Filter availability should be treated as a purchase prerequisite, not an afterthought.

- Levoit offers a broad US-market range, including high-CADR and app-connected models; specifications and filter costs should be checked model by model.
- Blueair is an option for buyers focused on particle airflow and local availability rather than a formaldehyde-specific split module.
- Dyson may suit buyers who value sensors, design, or multifunctional heating and cooling, although it is not necessarily the best value for maximum CADR.

Availability and bottom line
The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro is a legitimate Xiaomi product with an unusual split-filtration concept and unusually high advertised airflow. Its dual-module arrangement is more technically meaningful than simply counting 13 layers because it acknowledges that particles and gaseous pollutants need different treatment approaches.
However, the available performance evidence is primarily manufacturer-reported, and the full filtration breakdown and formaldehyde test conditions are not established in the accessible material. As of August 16, 2026, the safe conclusion is that it was reported as a China-market launch at ¥2,399; broader availability was not verified.
For a large, recently renovated space, it may be worth investigating—especially for an existing China-region Xiaomi user. For most buyers elsewhere, filter supply, software-region behavior, electrical compatibility, warranty, and total delivered cost matter at least as much as the headline CADR.
