On a BlendJet 2, a ring flashing red and purple means the battery is dead and needs recharging. Charge it with the included USB-C cable or a certified compatible USB-C cable, and wait until the ring forms a solid blue circle. Do not charge the blender while it is wet.
How to fix a red-and-purple flashing BlendJet 2
- Confirm the model and light pattern. This meaning applies to the BlendJet 2 when its ring flashes both red and purple. Other models and patterns have different meanings.
- Make sure the blender is dry. Do not connect it to power if it is wet; let it dry first.
- Connect a suitable cable. Use the included USB-C cable or a certified compatible USB-C cable, and make sure it is fully seated.
- Let it charge. The BlendJet 2 guide describes the ring changing from purple toward blue as it charges; a solid blue circle indicates a full charge. See BlendJet’s BlendJet 2 user guide.
- If it still will not charge, consult the official guide or contact BlendJet support. The documented light code identifies a low battery, but it does not establish that a particular cable or internal component is faulty.
Check the light pattern before troubleshooting
These signals are not interchangeable. The model and whether the light is flashing or solid change the instruction:

Check recall status separately
The red-and-purple flash is a battery warning, not a recall signal. Separately, BlendJet says certain BlendJet 2 units distributed approximately October 2020 through November 2023 are included in a voluntary recall because bases can overheat or catch fire and blades can break, creating fire and laceration hazards. Check the serial number on the base using the official recall information and checker. BlendJet’s notice says serial numbers beginning 5543 and above are not subject to this recall; for numbers beginning 5201–5542, use the checker because some units in that range are not recalled. If the checker confirms your unit is recalled, stop using it and follow BlendJet’s replacement instructions.

When a replacement cable may be relevant
If you need another cable, BlendJet lists a replacement USB-to-USB-C cable on its replacement-parts page. A replacement cable is not a guaranteed fix for a unit that will not charge, and it does not change the recall guidance.
