This distinction matters because simply describing a property as a “DDA flat” does not resolve who currently handles the relevant complaint. The FAQ is archived, says its answers are indicative and subject to update, and should be treated as a lead to verify rather than a current guarantee. If the status is uncertain, ask DDA or the relevant local MCD office to confirm whether the flat is in a notified, DDA-maintained area or a de-notified area under MCD.

When reporting a maintenance defect, identify the public asset as clearly as possible and describe the problem and its location within the premises. Suspected structural danger without an active fire

For a suspected building violation, focus on observable details rather than technical conclusions you cannot verify. For a maintenance issue, identify the part of the asset needing attention.
