Because product-page availability and packages can change, verify that the model is still offered in your market and that the seller’s listing matches the package you want. The listing identifies AF-100 as the included spool for this model; it does not establish that every BLACK+DECKER trimmer uses that spool.
LST136B: 40V MAX tool-only configuration
The LST136B is a 40V MAX cordless tool sold without a battery or charger. Its listed contents include an AF-100 spool, guard, and auxiliary handle. BLACK+DECKER notes that 40V MAX is the maximum initial battery voltage and that nominal voltage is 36V. Factor in the cost and compatibility of a battery and charger before considering this tool-only option; the voltage label is not, by itself, evidence of superior cutting performance.

These are manufacturer-listed features, not results from a common test. A separate BLACK+DECKER support comparison gives the LST201 as 10 inches and 6,200 RPM and the LST320C as 12 inches and 9,000 RPM, while warning that the different cutting widths prevent an exact comparison. Those figures apply only to those two models and should not be used as a brand-wide ranking.

Check batteries, replacement line, and manuals
Do not assume a battery, charger, or spool will fit because it shares the BLACK+DECKER name. Verify exact platform and model compatibility on the listing and product documentation, especially when buying a tool-only model or replacement part.
- Find the model number and type number on the tool. BLACK+DECKER says the type number is next to or below the model number.
- Open the ToolServiceNet parts and manuals service, search for the model, select the item, and enter its type number to locate the relevant parts list and manual.
- Match replacement line or spool to the exact model documentation rather than assuming one accessory fits the full trimmer range.
What to verify before buying
- Whether the current listing includes a battery and charger, and the battery capacity if stated.
- Whether the trimmer is cordless or corded and, for cordless models, whether its battery platform suits your existing equipment.
- The listed cutting width, feed system, and whether the model converts to an edger.
