GEARWRENCH tools do not all come from one established country of origin. Official GEARWRENCH packaging examples include both Taiwan and China, while parent company Apex Tool Group describes a manufacturing network spanning several regions. To find where a particular tool was made, check that model’s own origin marking or product information.
What the available origin information shows
| Evidence | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| GEARWRENCH brand-guideline packaging examples, dated 2021 | Both “Made in Taiwan” and “Made in China” appear on official brand packaging examples. | These examples do not identify the origin of every current model or show how much production comes from either country. |
| Apex Tool Group FAQ, accessed October 8, 2026 | Apex says: “Our products are manufactured in over 20 plants throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.” | This is the parent company’s overall manufacturing footprint, not a list of GEARWRENCH factories or a country-by-country map of GEARWRENCH production. |
Apex Tool Group identifies GEARWRENCH as one of its brands. Its international footprint explains why a single country answer is not supported, but it should not be read as proof that GEARWRENCH tools are made in every region or plant Apex lists.
How to check the country for a specific GEARWRENCH tool
- Look at the tool. Check for a country-of-origin marking on the tool itself, where present.
- Check its packaging. Read the country-of-origin statement on the package for that particular item.
- Confirm the exact model. Consult the product listing or specification for the model number, rather than relying on a general brand description.
If the marking and listing do not provide a clear answer, ask the seller or GEARWRENCH customer support about that exact model. Do not infer origin from the brand name, the parent company’s U.S. headquarters, or another tool in the range.
Why the answer can vary across the range
GEARWRENCH’s official brand page describes a range of more than 2,500 SKUs, including ratcheting wrenches, ratchets, sockets, impact sockets, torque wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, pry bars, striking tools and more than 600 automotive specialty tools. Those categories and SKU figures describe the brand’s product range; they do not assign products to factories or countries.

- Full polish chrome SAE and metric 1/4, 3/8" and 1/2" standard sockets, and 1/4" and 3/8" deep sockets
- 90-tooth gear delivers a 4° swing arc to turn a fastener in tight confines
- Contains 6 point full polish long pattern combination wrenches and sockets
For a comparison between two tools, use each item’s own origin marking alongside its model specification and intended function. Country labels alone do not establish that one tool is better quality than another.

No. Warranty coverage is determined by product category and territory, not manufacturing country. GEARWRENCH’s official warranty page describes the EZ Warranty for users in the United States and Canada and lists different coverage periods by category: lifetime coverage for mechanics hand tools for the original end-user purchaser, one year for torque products, two years for diagnostics, three years for tool storage and five years for tool carts. Check the current terms for the specific product and location, including any exceptions.
