When was the event, and what fights were announced?
The event was planned for June 14, 2026, on Flag Day, as part of celebrations marking the United States’ 250th anniversary. In its May 26 report, ABC News said the announced card included a lightweight title matchup between undisputed champion Ilia Topuria and interim title holder Justin Gaethje, plus four other fights. That pre-event report establishes what was announced at the time; it does not confirm the final card or results.
How many people was the temporary venue expected to accommodate?
Pre-event reports gave different planned seating figures for the stands, and those figures should not be mistaken for final attendance. ABC News reported on May 26 that Donald Trump said the South Lawn would have 4,000 seats. In the same report, Trump estimated capacity of 75,000 to 100,000 people on the Ellipse and said eight large screens would be set up there.

On June 2, CBS Sports described approximately 4,500 planned spectators for the stands, including 1,000 seats reserved for military personnel. This later estimate differs from ABC’s earlier 4,000-seat figure. The reports do not establish a final seat count or how many people attended.
