Before buying fiber-reinforced concrete mix, confirm that the product is intended for your project, identify what its fibers are designed to do, and check the supporting performance information, dosage, and mixing instructions. A fiber claim by itself does not establish that a mix meets a slab’s structural, code, or project-specific requirements.
1. Confirm the mix is intended for your project
Start with the current product label and technical data sheet. Check that the stated applications, placement conditions, and other requirements fit the work you plan to do. A manufacturer’s listed use is a starting point—not proof that the product suits every slab thickness, load, exposure, or local code requirement.

For example, Sakrete lists its Crack-Resistant Concrete Mix as a fiber-reinforced mix for driveways, sidewalks, slab floors, and similar work. Those examples describe the manufacturer’s stated uses; they do not establish suitability for a particular project without checking its requirements.

2. Find out what kind of fiber is in the mix and what it is meant to do
“Fiber-reinforced” does not identify the fiber family or the performance it provides. Microfibers are commonly used to help reduce plastic-shrinkage cracking, while macrofibers may be selected for hardened-concrete properties such as residual or post-crack performance. These functions are not interchangeable. The Fiber Reinforced Concrete Association discusses fiber selection and dosage in relation to the required performance and application in its FAQs on FRC.

- 【Concrete Fiber Reinforcement】Our glass fibers are designed for concrete applications, enhancing the impact and earthquake resistance of concrete, greatly preventing the cement from cracking, extend the service life of road surfaces. Fiber additive helps prevent cracks in concrete walls, floors, and structures and add strength to your project.
- 【Excellent Concrete Fiber Glass】Adding fiberglass to your mixture greatly increases the density of cement, which solves the drawbacks of the cement, avoiding penetration, enhancing impermeability and frost resistance performance, and ensuring long-term protection of structural integrity.
- 【Easy to Use】Our fiberglass is 3/4 inch in length and can be easily mixed into your concrete mix, then add an appropriate amount of water, and finally evenly mix. Increasing cement density, enhancing mortar toughness, simplifying the reinforcement process, and improving efficiency.
- 【Wide Application】The fiberglass is suitable for various concrete applications, this glass fiber plays a good role in reinforcing cement mortar and is suitable for building walls, garden floors, swimming pool construction, etc; and also suitable for some repairing works or mixed with other fillers.
- 【Package Include】You will receive 1 Pack x Fiberglass Chop Strands, Add more for high impact or severe freeze or thaw areas(Weight: 6.6LB/ Pack, Length: 3/4 inch).
Ask the supplier or manufacturer:
- What type of fiber does the mix contain?
- What property or performance is the fiber intended to provide?
- Is that function relevant to the project specification and the way the concrete will be used?
3. Check whether the project requires documented performance
If plans or specifications require a defined fiber-concrete performance, ask for test evidence for the relevant mix and dosage. The association’s FIP 8 design and specification guidance names ASTM C1116/C1116M for fiber-reinforced concrete and ASTM C1609/C1609M for post-crack flexural performance in its suggested specification language. The appropriate test method and acceptance threshold must come from the project requirements; neither a generic fiber claim nor the presence of a standard reference establishes that a product passes a particular requirement.
ASTM C1116/C1116M classifies fiber-reinforced concrete by the material type of fiber incorporated. For contract or compliance decisions, use the official ASTM publication and the project documents rather than relying on a secondary standards listing.
Rank #2
- Anti-cracking: Mixing fiberglass and mortar together, the irregular distribution of fiberglass in the mortar enhances the toughness of mortar, and inhibits the formation of fine cracks
- Waterproof and Impermeable: A large number of fiber filaments increase the density of cement, which can effectively solve the problem of penetration. It is very suitable for wet place such as basements, pond, Exterior wall
- Impact Resistance: High-strength fiber filaments are attached to each other as a dense net to hold the cement tightly. It can effectively enhance the impact and seismic performance of cement
- How to Use: Evenly mix sand, cement and fiberglass together, then add an appropriate amount of water, and finally stir (the stiring time is 30-60 seconds longer than without fiberglass)
- Dosage: Use 1 lb. (1 pkg) per cubic yard (27 cubic feet) of concrete. You can add a little more in the area with strong impact or severe freeze-thaw
4. Put dosage in context
Dosage depends on the application and required performance. A number stated without its specification context is not a universal buying benchmark. The association’s FAQ gives examples for particular specification conditions: steel fiber not less than 25 lb/yd³ (14.8 kg/m³) and macro-synthetic fiber not less than 4.0 lb/yd³ (2.4 kg/m³). These figures are examples from those contexts, not general consumer recommendations for another product or project.
For a bagged mix, check the current product documentation for its fiber content or recommended dosage, and ask whether the supporting performance evidence applies to that mix at that dosage. Do not assume a dosage from one fiber type, supplier, or specification can be transferred to another.

- Package Includes: you will receive 2 pieces of 10 lb concrete fiberglass, the fiberglass filler size is 0.75 inch, can be applied as a reinforcement material, basically meet your family's daily needs
- Anti Leakage: this reinforcement fiberglass is beneficial to increase the density of cement and can effectively solve the problem of penetration; The irregular distribution of glass fiber in the mortar enhances the toughness of the mortar and inhibits the formation of small cracks
- Impact Resistance: high strength fiber filaments are interconnected into a dense network, which tightly fixes the cement, which can effectively enhance the impact and earthquake resistance of cement, which is suitable for strengthening cement works
- How to Use: mix sand, cement and concrete fiber evenly, then add an appropriate amount of water, and finally stir; The stirring time is 30-60 seconds longer than without glass fiber
- Wide Application: our white fibers for concrete are very suitable for improving the stability, crack resistance and impermeability of the products, very suitable for wet places such as basements, ponds, exterior walls, gardens, courtyards, etc
5. Verify mixing and placement instructions
Fiber type, dosage, and mixing equipment can affect batching. The association’s FIP 2 batching guidance emphasizes following supplier sequencing instructions to help reduce clumping and promote even fiber distribution.
- Read the product’s current mixing and placement directions before purchase.
- Confirm that the stated instructions are compatible with your planned equipment and batching method.
- Follow the supplier’s recommended order and method for adding and mixing the material.
6. Compare the practical product details
Before choosing between products, verify the exact product identity and current documentation rather than comparing only front-of-bag claims. Check:

- Good Quality: It is made of high quality polypropylene fiber, polypropylene fiber is different from ordinary fiberglass fiber, polypropylene fiber has the same length and standard, smooth overall, ordinary fiber is rough and varying standards.
- Widely Application: Polypropylene fibers for concrete cement are suitable for countertop reinforcement and effectively solve the problem of infiltration, also be applied in wet places such as basements, pools, and exterior wall.
- Easy Use: Evenly mix sand, cement and polypropylene fiber together, then add an appropriate amount of water, and finally stir.
- Anti Cracking and Anti Seepage: Mixing polypropylene fiber and mortar together, the irregular distribution of polypropylene fiber in the mortar enhances the toughness of the mortar, increase the vibration resistance of the cement, so to reduce the cracking problem, which can suitable for strengthening cement projects.
- Satisfaction Guarantee: When you use the polypropylene fiber for concrete have any problem, we will give you satisfaction solution.
