There is no verified Consumer Reports-published list of the ten best robot-vacuum brands in the material available for this article. A February 16, 2026, BGR article compiled brands based on its account of Consumer Reports model ratings; that is a different thing from Consumer Reports naming category-level Best Brands. The accessible BGR text identifies nine brands, not a fully verified top ten.

What the “10 best brands” ranking actually means

BGR’s February 2026 article says it selected brands with one or more robot vacuums reviewed by Consumer Reports and based its selection on average ratings for those products. It considered carpet and bare-floor cleaning, pet-hair pickup, ease of use, navigation, clearance, noise, price, data privacy, and public reviews. This is BGR’s compilation—not a Consumer Reports award or an official Consumer Reports brand ranking. BGR’s article

Consumer Reports uses a distinct brand-level concept: its Best Brand score reflects aggregate performance, reliability, and satisfaction data across a tested lineup. Its 2026 buying-guide description says an overall score combines test results with survey measures for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction. Predicted reliability for robot vacuums covers the first four years and draws on winter quarterly surveys from 2023, 2024, and 2025; owner satisfaction reflects members who are extremely likely to recommend the vacuum they bought. Those survey measures are not the same as a model’s cleaning-test score. Consumer Reports’ robot-vacuum buying guide

Which brands are named in the accessible article?

The accessible text identifies these nine brands: iRobot, Dyson, Eureka, Miele, Samsung, Tzumi, Shark, Eufy, and Black+Decker. It does not establish the identity of the tenth brand, nor does it provide comparable model-level evidence for every brand in the promised list. The nine names should not be treated as a complete or verified ordered top ten.

What the named models suggest about trade-offs

The examples below are descriptions and reported ratings from BGR’s article, not new independent tests. They illustrate why a brand average is only a starting point: performance and compromises can vary substantially by model.

How to use ratings to choose a robot vacuum

Match cleaning performance to your floors and debris

Check results for the surfaces in your home rather than relying on a brand average. Carpet and bare-floor results can differ, and pet-hair performance is a separate consideration. A model that handles hair well may still have a drawback such as debris scattering from side brushes.

Check navigation, clearance, and maintenance

Mapping and obstacle navigation matter if the robot must work around furniture, cords, or clutter. Measure the gap beneath furniture against the robot’s height if low clearance is important. Consider the dock and routine upkeep as well: an auto-empty base can reduce how often you handle the dustbin, but the model-specific dock may add noise and require consumables. Confirm the exact dock arrangement and maintenance needs for the model you are considering.

Separate cleaning scores from reliability and satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ buying-guide description treats predicted reliability and owner satisfaction as survey measures alongside test performance. Read them as distinct signals: a strong cleaning result alone does not tell you how likely owners are to recommend a vacuum or how reliable the category’s products are expected to be.

Review privacy and price for the exact model

App-connected features and cameras make privacy worth checking, not assuming. BGR reports low privacy results for the Eufy C10 and Black+Decker BDRV1-SLV; those claims are specific to its article and should not be generalized to either brand’s entire lineup. Prices and stock mentioned in a February 2026 article are time-sensitive, and current prices and availability are not established here.

What this list can—and cannot—tell you

The named models offer useful leads for comparison, but they do not support a reliable ranking of ten brands. Before buying, check Consumer Reports’ current rating for the exact model, including the measures that matter to your home, and confirm current product availability and specifications with the manufacturer or retailer. The evidence described here does not establish the missing tenth brand or a current, complete audit of Consumer Reports’ database.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
