If you searched for the best Westinghouse dishwashers for your kitchen, here is the honest contractor answer: in the United States, there are not many current, mainstream Westinghouse dishwasher models to choose from in 2026. Westinghouse has active dishwasher lines in Australia and New Zealand, and you may find an older or limited US listing such as a Westinghouse 24-inch built-in dishwasher. But this is not the same buying situation as choosing from Bosch, Whirlpool, GE, KitchenAid, LG, Samsung, or Frigidaire at national US retailers.
That does not mean the Westinghouse name is irrelevant. It means a smart homeowner should treat the purchase as a remodel decision, not just an appliance decision. The right dishwasher has to fit the cabinet opening, carry the right US listing and warranty support, connect safely to the drain and electrical system, and be serviceable five years from now. On our kitchen jobs, those details matter more than a feature list on a retailer page.

This guide gives you a practical way to choose: when a Westinghouse dishwasher may make sense, when to avoid one, what alternatives fit the same budget-minded role, and what to verify before the cabinet installer, plumber, electrician, or countertop crew locks you into a bad layout.
Best Westinghouse Dishwasher Picks for US Buyers in 2026
The best Westinghouse dishwasher for a US kitchen is not automatically the newest model shown on an overseas website. It is the model that is actually sold for the US market, has a verifiable model number, fits a standard 24-inch opening, carries appropriate listing and documentation, and can be serviced locally.

For most homeowners, our recommendation is to use the following shortlist by use case rather than chasing a generic top-10 list.
Best true Westinghouse option: a locally stocked US 24-inch model, only if support checks out
If you find a Westinghouse 24-inch built-in dishwasher through a US retailer, start by verifying the exact model number with the manufacturer resources and product documentation. A model such as the Westinghouse WWBD2400HW-WW has appeared in limited US retail listings, but that does not prove broad current availability, strong parts support, or long-term service coverage in your area.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11This kind of purchase may be reasonable for a rental, utility kitchen, small office break room, or budget replacement if three things are true: the retailer can deliver it promptly, the warranty is valid in the US, and a local appliance service company will work on it. If any of those three are weak, we would usually steer the homeowner toward a better-supported US brand.
Best Westinghouse-style budget alternative: mainstream 24-inch plastic-tub dishwasher
If your goal is simple, affordable dishwashing rather than brand matching, a mainstream US-supported budget model is usually the safer buy. Expect appliance pricing around $350 to $650 for a basic 24-inch built-in dishwasher with a plastic tub, front controls, heated dry, and a noise level commonly in the 50 to 60 dBA range.
That sound level is acceptable in a closed-off kitchen, basement bar, rental unit, or secondary space. It is less attractive in an open kitchen next to a family room. The real advantage is serviceability: parts, installers, warranty departments, and replacement units are easier to find.
Best quiet remodel pick: 44 dBA or lower
For an open-plan kitchen, we typically target 44 dBA or lower. At that level, the dishwasher is not silent, but it fades into the background during normal conversation. Many of these models land in the $650 to $1,100 range, especially when you move into stainless or hybrid tubs.
This is where many homeowners get the best value. You are paying for quieter operation, better racks, better drying, and a more solid door feel without jumping all the way into luxury pricing.
Best family-capacity pick: third rack and adjustable middle rack
For a household that runs the dishwasher daily, a third rack is not a gimmick. It helps with utensils, small lids, measuring spoons, and shallow items that otherwise clutter the lower rack. Look for an adjustable middle rack, fold-down tines, and enough clearance for dinner plates below.

- DISHWASHER INSTALLATION KIT: Includes a stainless steel braided supply line measuring 6 ft. in length with 3/8 in. compression x 3/8 in. compression connections, designed for compatibility with most standard dishwashers
- WHAT IS INCLUDED: Kit contains (1) 6 ft. braided water supply line, (1) 3/4 in. female hose 90 degree elbow, (1) 3/8 in. male iron pipe (MIP) 90 degree elbow, (1) 3-prong straight power cord, (3) wire nuts, (1) Teflon tape, (1) hose clamp, and (1) Romex connector
- DURABLE BUILD: Water line features a PVC core, braided nylon reinforcement, clear vinyl outer shell, and stainless steel exterior to help reduce kinking and crimping
- EASY TO INSTALL: Drop-in kit includes all components required for new or replacement installations—no soldering, glue, or crimping needed
- RELIABLE PERFORMANCE: Suitable for potable water use with a maximum working pressure of 125 PSI and temperature range of 40 to 160 degrees F; UPC approved and CSA certified
These models commonly run $800 to $1,500 depending on brand, tub design, noise rating, drying system, and finish. In a full kitchen remodel, this is often money well spent because the dishwasher is used every day and is difficult to change cleanly after flooring, trim, and panels are finished.
Best compact or small-kitchen alternative: verify width before ordering
Westinghouse Australia and New Zealand list 60 cm dishwashers. A 60 cm appliance is close to 23.6 inches wide, while many US built-in openings are planned around a nominal 24 inches. That sounds compatible, but close is not good enough. Door swing, side clearance, depth, toe-kick alignment, hose routing, leveling legs, and mounting hardware all matter.
Recommended Free Tools
For a small US kitchen, condo, or accessory dwelling unit, it is usually better to choose a US-market 18-inch dishwasher or a verified 24-inch compact-friendly model than to import a 60 cm unit that may create listing, warranty, parts, and electrical issues.
Why Westinghouse Dishwasher Shopping Is Confusing in the US
Westinghouse is a familiar name, but brand licensing and regional product lines can make appliance shopping messy. A dishwasher sold under the Westinghouse name in Australia or New Zealand is not automatically a dishwasher intended for a US kitchen. The documentation, plug or hardwire requirements, voltage assumptions, energy labeling, dimensions, and warranty network may be different.
That is why we do not recommend buying an overseas Westinghouse dishwasher for a US remodel unless the specific unit is listed and supported for US installation. A kitchen remodel already has enough moving parts. Adding an appliance with uncertain parts availability or questionable compliance can turn a simple replacement into a callback problem.
The practical test is simple. Before you buy, you should be able to answer these questions in writing from the retailer or manufacturer documentation:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- What is the exact model number?
- Is it intended for sale and installation in the United States?
- Does it fit a 24-inch US dishwasher opening after flooring and countertop conditions are considered?
- Is it ENERGY STAR listed or otherwise documented with annual kWh and gallons per cycle?
- Who handles warranty service in your ZIP code?
- Are racks, pumps, hoses, door seals, and control parts available through US parts suppliers?
If the listing is vague, the manual is hard to match, or the seller cannot answer service questions, that is a warning sign.

Fit and Measurement: Where Dishwasher Projects Go Wrong
Most US built-in dishwashers are designed around an opening about 24 inches wide, 34 to 36 inches high, and 24 inches deep. Those numbers are not enough by themselves. On our job sites, we measure the opening at the top, middle, and bottom because cabinets and floors are rarely perfect. A 24-inch opening at the face can narrow near the back if the cabinet is out of square.
Height is just as important. New flooring often creates trouble. If a previous dishwasher was installed before tile, hardwood, or luxury vinyl plank was added, the finished floor in front of the machine may be higher than the floor under it. That can trap the old dishwasher or make the new one difficult to level. During a remodel, we plan the dishwasher bay so the appliance can be removed later without cutting flooring or damaging the countertop.
Depth should be measured to the cabinet face and countertop overhang, not just the back wall. A dishwasher that sits proud of the cabinets can interfere with drawer pulls, island clearance, or walkways. In tighter kitchens, even an extra inch matters.
Field checklist before ordering
- Measure width at top, middle, and bottom.
- Measure height from finished floor to underside of countertop.
- Check whether flooring runs under the dishwasher.
- Confirm door swing clearance across from islands, ranges, and cabinet hardware.
- Confirm water, drain, and electrical entry locations.
- Verify side-mount hardware if you have stone countertops.
For granite, quartz, or other stone tops, do not assume the installer can screw mounting brackets into the underside of the counter. Plan side-mount brackets or a proper dishwasher mounting strip before the countertop is installed.
Energy and Water Use: What the Numbers Mean
ENERGY STAR says a standard-size certified dishwasher costs about $50 per year to run and can save about 5,800 gallons of water over its lifetime compared with less efficient washing habits and older equipment. Current standard-size ENERGY STAR criteria referenced by appliance standards groups include limits around 240 kWh per year and 3.2 gallons per cycle.
Those numbers matter, but they should not be read in isolation. A dishwasher that is efficient but too small for the household may run twice as often. A unit with poor drying may lead people to rerun cycles. A cheap model that fails early is not a good value just because the yellow energy label looked fine.
Before buying any Westinghouse-labeled unit, check the exact model number in the ENERGY STAR Product Finder or the manufacturer specification sheet. Do not rely on a brand-level claim. Energy data is model-specific.
Installed Cost in 2026: Unit Price Is Only Part of the Bill
A straightforward replacement is very different from a first-time dishwasher installation. For a simple swap where the cabinet opening, water line, drain, shutoff, and electrical connection are already correct, professional labor may be relatively modest. Current 2026 cost data shows simple professional installation commonly around $144 to $264, with many projects near $194.

A broader installed project can cost much more. Homewyse-style national models for May 2026 put installed dishwasher cost around $904 to $1,678 when appliance cost, supplies, labor, and project variables are included. In real remodel budgeting, we commonly tell homeowners to think in ranges:
- Budget replacement: about $500-$900 total if conditions are clean and the appliance is basic.
- Midrange replacement: about $900-$1,400 with a better dishwasher, new connection materials, haul-away, and minor adjustments.
- Complex install: about $1,400-$2,500+ if electrical, plumbing, cabinet work, flooring corrections, or permits are involved.
Materials that can add cost include a new dishwasher supply line, 3/8-inch compression fitting, drain hose extension, hose clamps, air-gap assembly, disposal inlet work, junction box or appliance cord kit, GFCI breaker or receptacle, trim panels, side panels, leak pan in some upper-floor installations, and cabinet or floor repair.

Code, Permits, Drainage, and Electrical Safety
Dishwasher rules vary by city and state. Some jurisdictions treat a simple like-for-like replacement differently from a new dishwasher location. Others may require plumbing or electrical permits. For example, some cities publish specific appliance installation guidance for dishwashers, and local rules can differ on who may do the work and when inspection is required.
Drainage is one of the most common failure points. Some jurisdictions require a physical dishwasher air gap at the sink or countertop. Others allow a high loop under the sink. A high loop is not automatically a substitute where an air gap is required. This should be checked before countertop fabrication because an air-gap hole competes with soap dispensers, filtered-water faucets, sprayers, and other accessories.
If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposal, the disposal dishwasher inlet knockout must be removed. Missing that small step can cause immediate drain failure on day one.
Electrical rules have also tightened over time. Many dishwasher installations now require GFCI protection, and some require a dedicated circuit or specific connection method. The safest approach is to verify the current local code and the manufacturer installation manual before deciding between hardwire and cord-and-plug installation.

A capable homeowner can sometimes replace a dishwasher safely, but the job is less forgiving than it looks. Water leaks can damage cabinets, flooring, ceilings, and finished basements. Poor leveling can cause door, rack, and leak problems. Bad electrical work can create a shock or fire hazard.
DIY may be reasonable when
- You are replacing a similar 24-inch dishwasher in the same location.
- The shutoff valve works and does not leak.
- The existing drain route is code-compliant.
- The electrical connection already matches the new appliance manual.
- The opening is square, accessible, and not trapped by flooring.
- You are comfortable leveling, securing, and leak-testing the unit.
Hire a pro when
- This is a first-time dishwasher installation.
- You need a new water line, drain route, air gap, outlet, breaker, or GFCI protection.
- The dishwasher is under stone countertops and needs side mounting.
- The old unit is trapped by flooring.
- You are changing cabinet layout or moving the sink.
- You are considering an imported or unusual Westinghouse model.
For a normal replacement, a professional installer may finish in 1.5 to 3 hours. A first-time install involving plumbing, electrical, and cabinet work can take most of a day or be split across trades during a larger remodel.

Our Bottom Line on Westinghouse Dishwashers
If you are in the United States, the best Westinghouse dishwasher is the one you can verify as a true US-supported appliance. If you cannot verify that, do not force the brand into your kitchen remodel. Choose a mainstream US-supported dishwasher with the right width, noise level, energy use, warranty, and parts availability.
For most projects, we would rather see a homeowner buy a reliable $650 to $1,100 midrange dishwasher that fits correctly and can be serviced locally than gamble on a hard-to-source model with uncertain support. In construction, the best appliance is not just the one that looks good on day one. It is the one that installs cleanly, passes inspection where required, runs quietly enough for the room, and can be repaired without tearing apart a finished kitchen.

Are Westinghouse dishwashers sold in the United States in 2026?
They are not widely available as a current mainstream US dishwasher line. You may find limited or older US listings, while Westinghouse Australia and New Zealand have active dishwasher ranges intended for those markets.
What is the best Westinghouse dishwasher for a US kitchen remodel?
The best option is a locally stocked 24-inch Westinghouse model with verified US warranty, parts, service, installation manual, and energy documentation. If those cannot be confirmed, choose a better-supported US-market alternative.
Can I install an Australian or New Zealand Westinghouse dishwasher in a US home?
Do not assume you can. A 60 cm model may have fit, electrical, listing, warranty, parts, and service issues in a US kitchen. Verify the exact model is approved and supported for US installation before purchase.
How much does dishwasher installation cost in 2026?
A simple professional replacement often runs about $144-$264 for labor, with many straightforward installs near $194. A broader installed project including the appliance, supplies, labor, and site variables commonly falls around $500-$1,700, and complex remodel conditions can exceed that.
Do I need a permit to replace or install a dishwasher?
It depends on your jurisdiction and scope. A like-for-like replacement may be treated differently from a new dishwasher location, new wiring, new plumbing, or drainage changes. Check local building, plumbing, and electrical rules before work starts.
What size opening do I need for a built-in dishwasher?
Most US built-in dishwashers need an opening about 24 inches wide, 34 to 36 inches high, and 24 inches deep. Measure at multiple points and account for finished flooring, countertop height, door swing, and mounting method.
