The PPP process received no offers, according to Życie Warszawy / rp.pl. The reported plan is for municipal company MPRI to arrange procurement of a general contractor; it does not mean construction has started.
Why is Warsaw taking over the Polonia stadium project?
The city’s original approach relied on a private partner to finance the modernization and maintain the facilities for 20 years. The PPP procedure attracted no offers and was to be cancelled, prompting Warsaw to shift to a city-led model, as reported by Życie Warszawy / rp.pl on 14 September 2026, with an update on 5 October.

MPRI says it will be responsible for modernizing Ośrodek Polonia and building the Youth Sports Centre. In this arrangement, the municipal company is to procure a general contractor rather than transfer the project to a private PPP partner. The available reporting does not specify who will maintain the completed facilities under the replacement model.

| Who maintains the facilities? | The private partner would maintain them for 20 years. | Not stated in the cited reporting. |
| What is the city’s financial exposure? | Not specified in the cited reporting. | A reported 832 million PLN limit in the city’s multi-year financial forecast, not a final price. |

Those figures belong to the historic PPP plan; they are not confirmed final specifications or the current project cost. The brochure also outlined staged delivery.
