For a Truma AquaGo that is not providing hot water, first identify its control panel and record the exact light pattern, display message or code before resetting anything. An analog dial with an exterior LED and a CP plus control panel use different indications, and a flashing or Clean indication may be part of routine decalcification rather than a fault.
Start with the control panel and the symptoms
Check whether your AquaGo has the analog indoor dial and exterior LED or a CP plus control panel. Then note exactly what the control shows, whether water flows, when the problem began, and whether you recently started decalcification or brought the RV out of storage. Truma’s troubleshooting instructions are specific to the control type; a partial flash pattern is not enough to diagnose a fault.
The AquaGo is a propane on-demand water heater. On its current Comfort product page, Truma says the burner starts when hot-water flow exceeds approximately 0.4 gallons per minute (1.5 l/min). That specification alone does not identify the cause of a no-hot-water problem: inlet flow, electrical power, propane supply, plumbing, controls and model variant can all matter. See Truma AquaGo Comfort specifications.
If the analog control is stuck in Clean mode
Turning the analog dial to Clean starts a decalcification process. According to Truma’s July 20, 2025 instructions, returning the dial to Eco or Comfort within 30 seconds may allow normal operation to continue. After that window, the cycle needs to be completed. During the documented flush, the burner does not ignite.

- Restores full hot water performance when your AquaGo runs cooler, cycles on and off, or shows reduced flow — mineral scale inside a tankless heater's tight passages is the most common cause, and these tablets dissolve it fast.
- Genuine Truma OEM part 77300-01, formulated specifically for AquaGo Comfort and Comfort Plus tankless water heaters; not compatible with the AquaGo Basic model, so check your unit before ordering.
- Non-corrosive, quick-dissolving formula is safe for RV potable water lines and the AquaGo's internal components — no measuring, mixing, or guesswork, just drop in the pre-dosed tablets and start the cycle.

- Built for RV, camper, and motorhome owners on city water hookup or hard-water campgrounds; Truma recommends decalcifying every 1,585 gallons (6,000 liters) used, typically an annual task for moderate use.
- Make sure the main power and exterior toggle switch are on.
- Select Clean and wait for the pump to cycle.
- Open a hot-water faucet and let water run until the amber flashing stops. Truma says this may take 15 minutes or more; do not treat a shorter wait as completion.
- When the cycle ends, the exterior green LED goes out and red flashes indicate W31, “Decalcification Complete.”
- Turn the unit off and back on as Truma instructs, then set the indoor dial to Eco or Comfort.
Follow the complete steps for your installed control version in Truma’s AquaGo Clean-mode instructions. Truma describes W31 this way: “This is fault code 31: ‘Decalcification Complete.’” It is not, by itself, evidence of a failure.
Read AquaGo lights and codes without guessing
For an analog control, Truma says a rapid double yellow flash indicates a fault; check the red LED under the exterior rocker switch and consult the applicable owner’s manual. Truma’s guidance also identifies an appliance-temperature warning below 27°F (3°C) and W31 as decalcification completion. The guidance covers common indications, not every code, so use the manual’s complete code table for your model rather than inferring a diagnosis from an incomplete sequence.

- Prevents freeze-crack damage to your AquaGo tankless heater in temps as low as -4F, using an electric heating element plus circulation pump that keeps water moving through the unit overnight at a cold-weather campsite.
- Built specifically for Truma AquaGo Comfort and Comfort Plus systems; connects to the existing Easy Drain Lever and factory cable harness, so it works with the exact plumbing and wiring already in your RV or camper.
- Installs in minutes with a true plug-and-play design: insert the kit into the Easy Drain Lever, plug the connector into the AquaGo cable harness, and you are done, no cutting, soldering, or extra tools required.
- Runs on 12V DC (120W) from your house battery instead of propane, so freeze protection keeps working with the burner off, LPG cylinders closed for travel, or the AquaGo in standby between camping trips.
- Eliminates fall/spring draining and RV antifreeze flushing for winter storage or cold-climate touring, making it the practical choice for snowbirds, ski-season campers, and anyone who tows through freezing overnight lows.
For CP plus controls, read and record the displayed message or code, then follow the instructions for that control and model. Do not apply the analog panel’s light interpretation or reset sequence to CP plus. Truma’s AquaGo error-code guidance directs owners to the owner’s manual for the full list.
Decalcify the heater as routine maintenance
Truma recommends decalcifying after 1,585 gallons (6,000 liters) of water use. It says annual treatment is typical for low-to-moderate use; hard water or heavy use may call for more frequent cycles. Truma’s September 20, 2023 guidance recommends using its AquaGo Decalcification Tablets, inserted into the inlet filter. One package is sufficient for one cycle, according to Truma.

Plan the work before starting: Truma recommends connecting to city water because the cleaning and rinse use substantial water. The process can take up to three hours and cannot be stopped once begun; Truma’s FAQ says the rinse uses roughly eight gallons. Use the model-specific instructions and compatible supplies. See Truma’s AquaGo decalcification instructions and Truma AquaGo accessories.
Winterize and check freeze-related concerns carefully
For winter storage, use the AquaGo procedure for your specific installation rather than generic RV plumbing advice. Truma’s October 19, 2022 instructions call for switching the heater off and letting it cool, depressurizing the system, placing it in bypass as directed by the manual, releasing the yellow Easy Drain Lever, removing the filter and storing the filter separately.
