Best overall: the Hestan NanoBond 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set. Best value: the Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad 12-Piece Set. For other priorities, the Circulon A1 is the easiest conventional nonstick option, the GreenPan Valencia Pro offers ceramic nonstick, the Made In 13-Piece Set is the most versatile, the All-Clad D5 is the premium five-ply choice, and the Le Creuset Signature set is best for heat retention and minimalist cooking.
All seven sets are listed as induction-compatible, but that label is only the starting point. Induction burners need cookware with ferromagnetic material and a broad, reasonably flat base that makes good contact with the cooking zone. Weight, surface coverage, heat distribution, searing, boiling speed, noise, handle temperature, oven limits, and cleanup can make one induction set much better to live with than another.
The rankings below are based on reported Good Housekeeping cookware testing and manufacturer specifications cross-checked against official product information. Some underlying cookware testing was conducted by Good Housekeeping and/or Food Network; Bettesworth Construction did not test these products. | Made In 13-Piece | 5-ply stainless steel plus ceramic nonstick and carbon steel | Stainless pieces, ceramic nonstick frying pan, carbon-steel frying pan, wok, saucepans, saucier, stockpot, and seasoning wax | Induction-compatible; check the individual piece for its oven limit | Not dishwasher-safe | Experienced cooks who want several materials |
| All-Clad D5 5-Ply 10-Piece | Five-ply stainless steel | Two frying pans, two saucepans, sauté pan, stockpot, and lids | Induction-compatible; oven-safe to 600°F | Hand-washing recommended | Premium searing and heat retention |
| Le Creuset Signature 5-Piece | Enameled cast iron | Bundle contents vary; the current official listing describes a Dutch oven, braiser, skillet, and associated lids | Induction-compatible; oven-safe to 500°F | Dishwasher-safe, although hand-washing is recommended | Braising, stews, bread, and heat retention |
Oven ratings are not interchangeable: always use the lowest-rated component, particularly when a set’s lids have a separate limit. Confirm the exact model and bundle contents before ordering.

1. Hestan NanoBond 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set: best overall premium set
Good Housekeeping selected Hestan NanoBond as its best overall cookware set after reporting excellent results across its tests. The cookware heated evenly, browned steak well, cleaned up relatively easily, and performed particularly well on induction. For shoppers seeking a premium Hestan NanoBond cookware set, this is the strongest all-around recommendation in the group.
The set includes 8.5- and 11-inch skillets, 1.5- and 3-quart saucepans with lids, a 3.5-quart sauté pan with lid, and an 8-quart stockpot with lid. That is a practical mix for frying, sauces, one-pan meals, and large batches of soup or pasta water.
Hestan describes the line as molecular titanium-finished stainless steel made in Italy. Its official product information lists induction compatibility, dishwasher safety, a lifetime warranty, and manufacturer claims that the cookware is PFAS- and nickel-free. Those material and warranty statements come from Hestan, not from an independent laboratory assessment in the testing report.
The unusually high listed oven rating—up to 1,050°F—gives this set substantial headroom for high-heat cooking, although household ovens and manufacturers’ instructions should always take priority over a maximum marketing specification.
Tradeoffs: this is an exceptionally expensive set, and Good Housekeeping noted that the finish may deepen in color with use. Its price makes sense mainly for cooks who will use the stainless pieces frequently and value the broad cooking surfaces, cleanup performance, and high heat tolerance.
2. Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad 12-Piece Set: best value
The Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad is the best value pick because it delivers the core benefits of clad stainless steel without the price of the premium sets. Good Housekeeping gave the 10-inch skillet five-out-of-five scores for heat distribution and steak browning. Testers also reported good heft, durable construction, comfortable handles, and a useful assortment of sizes.
The set contains 8- and 10-inch frying pans; 1.5-, 2-, and 3-quart saucepans with lids; a 6-quart sauté pan with lid; and an 8-quart stockpot with lid. That gives a new induction-cooktop owner a capable stainless-steel foundation, including both small sauce work and larger batch cooking. The Tramontina induction cookware set is a particularly sensible choice when replacing several mismatched pans at once.
Tramontina describes its Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad construction as three layers that spread heat across the bottom and sides of the cookware, with stainless-steel lids. The set is listed as induction-compatible and oven-safe to 500°F.
Tradeoffs: Good Housekeeping observed discoloration after high-heat cooking and some difficulty during cleanup. Hand-washing is recommended, so it is less convenient than a dishwasher-safe nonstick set. Those are manageable stainless-steel compromises, especially at this price tier, but users should learn to preheat the pan properly and deglaze stuck-on fond rather than immediately scrubbing at high heat.
3. Circulon A1 ScratchDefense 9-Piece Set: best conventional nonstick
Choose the Circulon A1 when effortless release and simple cleanup matter more than stainless-steel searing or maximum heat tolerance. Good Housekeeping found the set highly nonstick and easy to clean; eggs released easily during testing, and an analyst who used the cookware at home for more than a year did not notice coating degradation.
The set includes 1- and 3-quart saucepans with straining lids, a 6-quart stockpot with lid, a 3-quart sauté pan, and 8.5- and 10-inch frying pans. Circulon describes the cookware as having an aluminum body, a full-coverage induction-suitable stainless-steel base, and a triple-layer ScratchDefense nonstick surface.
Rank #2
- Superior Nonstick Performance: Featuring a titanium reinforced coating, our pots and pans set offers exceptional durability and effortless food release, making cleanup easier
- Durable and Even Heating: This reinforced die-cast aluminum cookware set is built to last. It ensures rapid, uniform heat distribution with no hot spots — perfect for consistent boiling, simmering, and reheating
- Silicone Sealed Glass Lid: Lids of the pots have silicone edge that creates a tight seal to lock in moisture and flavor, allows you to monitor cooking without lifting, and protects against chipping for added safety
- Cleanup Recommended: Always hand-wash your cookware with a neutral dish soap to effectively prevent black residue from forming on the base.
- Set Includes: 8'' frying pan, 9.5'' frying pan, 11'' frying pan, 2.5-qt saucepan with lid, 5.5-qt stockpot with lid, 5-qt sauté pan with lid, 6*pan protectors, 5*utensils.
The manufacturer says its durability testing was equivalent to more than 200 years of simulated daily use. That is a manufacturer claim, not independent evidence that the coating will last for two centuries in a home kitchen. Good Housekeeping did report light scratching on the exterior, so realistic care expectations are still important.
Important coating disclosure: do not describe this set as PFAS-free, non-toxic, or free of fluoropolymer chemistry. The product disclosure identifies intentionally added fluoropolymer/PFAS chemistry in the nonstick coating. The relevant practical advantage is easy release—not an absence of all fluoropolymer chemistry.
The Circulon is listed as dishwasher-safe and oven-safe to 400°F. That lower oven limit makes it less suitable for repeated high-heat finishing than the stainless-steel options. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, avoid overheating an empty nonstick pan, and use utensils and cleaning methods appropriate for coated cookware.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors4. GreenPan Valencia Pro 22-Piece Set: best ceramic nonstick set
The GreenPan Valencia Pro is the most expansive choice here and the clearest fit for shoppers specifically seeking ceramic nonstick. In Good Housekeeping’s reported testing, it heated evenly, seared steak nicely, released eggs well, simmered sauce effectively, and boiled water quickly.
The package includes multiple frying pans, a grill pan, chef’s pan, square griddle, saucepans, sauté pan, two stockpots, lids, and pan protectors. The headline count is 22 pieces, but that total includes lids and accessories. Compare the actual cooking vessels—not just the number printed on the box—against the space available on your cooktop and in your cabinets.
GreenPan’s official information describes hard-anodized aluminum construction, a Magneto induction base, compatibility with all major stovetops, a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick coating, dishwasher safety, and a 600°F oven rating for the cookware. The same information rates the lids to 425°F. The PFAS-free statement is the manufacturer’s coating claim; it should not be presented as an independent laboratory finding.
Tradeoffs: Good Housekeeping observed scratching around the rims over time. Ceramic nonstick is attractive for cooks who want easy release without the product disclosure associated with Circulon’s fluoropolymer coating, but any coated surface can be less forgiving than bare stainless steel over a long service life. The included pan protectors are useful when stacking the pieces.

The official GreenPan page displayed a suggested price of $642.99 and a limited-time price of $449.99 when the supplied product information was checked. Those figures are not stable; verify the current price, included pieces, color, and stock before purchasing.
5. Made In 13-Piece Stainless Set: most versatile
The Made In set is the most versatile because it combines several cookware materials instead of asking the buyer to choose only stainless steel or only nonstick. Good Housekeeping reported that all the pieces worked on induction and performed well overall. The ceramic nonstick pan released eggs cleanly, the stainless skillet browned steak effectively, and the saucier boiled quickly.
Rank #3
- EXTREME NONSTICK: Engineered not to scratch, our nonstick cookware set was lab-tested to last 15x longer than any prior generation of Circulon nonstick cookware and meets or exceeds FDA standards for food safety, so you can feel good about every dish
- TAKE IT TO THE EDGE: Pots and pans set non stick with a thick, edge-to-edge steel base delivers fast, even heat and enhanced, warp-resistant stability from stove to oven.
- FORM AND FUNCTION: Tempered-glass lid seals in heat and moisture to enrich foods with flavor. Kitchen-friendly features on our nonstick pots and pans set like a straining lid and pour spouts on the saucepan keep cooks moving
- NONSTICK INSIDE AND OUT: Nonstick induction cookware set crafted with aerospace-grade materials for a harder surface than ordinary nonstick cooking eliminating scratching, sticking & flaking; stain-resistant, easy-to-clean to look newer for longer
- TRULY DISHWASHER SAFE: Extreme ScratchDefense nonstick pots and pans cookware set from Circulon is truly dishwasher safe for convenient cleanup—the dishwasher safe pots and pans set that won't sacrifice performance.
The 13-piece assortment combines 5-ply stainless-steel cookware with a 10-inch ceramic nonstick frying pan, a 12.5-inch carbon-steel frying pan, a carbon-steel wok, saucepans, a saucier, an 8-quart stockpot, and seasoning wax. Made In’s product information confirms compatibility with gas, electric, and induction cooktops. Manufacturing locations vary by product and include Italy, Sweden, and the United States; warranties also vary, with limited or lifetime coverage depending on the item.
This is a strong fit for an experienced cook who wants a stainless pan for browning, a coated pan for eggs, carbon steel for high-heat work, and a wok in one purchase. It is also a way to sample different materials before buying more open-stock pieces.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Tradeoffs: the set is not dishwasher-safe. The ceramic nonstick frying pan may wear or scratch over time, while the carbon-steel pan and wok require seasoning and ongoing maintenance. Carbon steel is not a maintenance-free alternative to nonstick: moisture, acidic cooking, and improper storage can affect its seasoning. The assortment may also be too broad for a small kitchen or a cook who wants one consistent care routine.
6. All-Clad D5 5-Ply Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Set: best premium All-Clad option
The All-Clad D5 is the premium All-Clad recommendation for shoppers who want five-ply stainless steel and strong searing. Good Housekeeping reported even heating, a deep sear, especially good induction performance, and greater heat retention and easier cleanup than the D3 in the tester’s comparison.
The set includes 8- and 10-inch frying pans, 1.5- and 3-quart saucepans with lids, a 3-quart sauté pan with lid, and an 8-quart stockpot with lid. It is listed as induction-compatible and oven-safe to 600°F, with hand-washing recommended.
The D5’s five-ply construction and heat retention suit cooks who regularly brown meat, reduce sauces, or move cookware between the burner and oven. It is a long-term investment rather than a bargain set.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Tradeoffs: the D5 is heavier and more expensive than value alternatives. Good Housekeeping also noted that its frying pan has a smaller cooking surface than some competitors. That distinction matters on induction, where the usable flat base and the size of the active burner affect how much food can brown evenly. Do not treat D5 and D3 as interchangeable: they are related but distinct constructions, and their set contents and pan proportions differ.
7. Le Creuset Signature 5-Piece Enameled Cast-Iron Set: best for heat retention and minimalism
Le Creuset’s enameled cast iron is the right choice when heat retention, braising, and a compact core collection matter more than light weight. Good Housekeeping selected this as its best cast-iron option, emphasizing browning, heat retention, long-term durability, and the fact that enameled cookware does not require seasoning.
The exact contents require special attention. The testing source describes a compact set built around a Dutch oven, saucepan, and skillet. Le Creuset’s currently listed Signature 5-piece bundle describes a 7.25-quart Dutch oven, a 3.5-quart braiser, and a 10.25-inch skillet, along with associated lids or other counted pieces. Retailer and promotional bundles can differ, so confirm the individual vessels before buying.
Rank #4
- Superior Nonstick Performance: Featuring a reinforced coating, our pots and pans set offers exceptional durability and effortless food release, making cleanup easier.
- Special Texture Design: Crafted with one-of-a-kind exterior texture for standout visual appeal. The exclusive surface detailing delivers a premium look and complements any kitchen setting.
- Easy Clean: Hand washing is highly recommended for effortless care. Just wipe clean with a paper towel or rinse quickly under running water.
- Silicone Sealed Glass Lid: Lids of the pots have silicone edge that creates a tight seal to lock in moisture and flavor, allows you to monitor cooking without lifting, and protects against chipping for added safety
- Set Includes: 8'' frying pan, 9.5'' frying pan, 11'' frying pan, 2-qt saucepan with lid, 2.5-qt stockpot with lid, 4.5-qt stockpot with lid, 7-qt stockpot with lid, 4.5-qt sauté pan with lid, ladle, slotted spatula, spatula, tongs, pasta server, steamer, 7*pan protectors.
The set is compatible with induction and other major cooktops, listed as oven-safe to 500°F, and dishwasher-safe, although hand-washing is recommended. The Dutch oven and braiser are well suited to stews, braises, roasts, and other recipes where steady heat matters more than rapid temperature changes.
Tradeoffs: enameled cast iron is heavy and requires more deliberate handling than aluminum or thin stainless steel. It also responds more slowly when the burner setting changes. This is the best option for a minimalist kitchen built around a few substantial pieces, not for someone who wants a lightweight stack of pans for quick weekday cooking.
Why induction compatibility is not enough
An induction cooktop produces heat by creating a magnetic field that interacts with ferromagnetic material in the cookware. Aluminum by itself is generally not enough. Aluminum cookware can work when it has a magnetic stainless-steel base, as with the Circulon and GreenPan designs described above. Stainless-steel cookware can work when its construction includes a magnetic layer, and enameled cast iron is generally induction-compatible.
Use a magnet as a first screen
- Place a household magnet against the bottom of the pan.
- If it holds firmly, the pan has a basic indication of magnetic compatibility.
- Check the exact model’s specifications anyway, particularly when a brand sells both induction and non-induction versions.
- Test the pan on the intended burner at a low setting and confirm that it heats evenly across the useful cooking surface.
A magnet test cannot tell you whether the base is flat enough, whether it covers the burner effectively, or whether the pan will distribute heat evenly. Good Housekeeping’s induction testing found that compatibility alone does not guarantee good performance. A pan can activate the burner while leaving the edges cooler than the center or heating only a small area.
Match the base to the burner
Induction works most predictably when the cookware’s flat base makes broad contact with the cooking zone. A small pan on a large burner may not use the zone efficiently; a warped or rounded base may heat unevenly or fail to trigger some cooktops. Before choosing a set, compare the diameter of its flat cooking surface—not merely the outer rim—with the induction burner sizes you use most often.

Which cookware material is best for induction?
- Clad stainless steel
- Best for browning, searing, pan sauces, and durability. The Tramontina, Hestan, All-Clad D5, and much of the Made In set use this approach. Stainless steel benefits from proper preheating and enough cooking fat; food may stick if added to a cold or inadequately heated pan. It usually requires more cleanup effort than nonstick.
- Conventional nonstick
- Best for eggs, delicate fish, pancakes, and cooks who prioritize release and easy cleanup. The Circulon A1 is the conventional nonstick pick here. Its product disclosure identifies intentionally added fluoropolymer/PFAS chemistry, so it should not be labeled PFAS-free.
- Ceramic nonstick
- Best for shoppers who want a ceramic coating and easy release. GreenPan describes the Valencia Pro coating as PFAS-free, while Made In uses a ceramic nonstick pan in its mixed-material set. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent findings that every ceramic coating will retain its performance indefinitely. Scratching and gradual performance changes remain relevant considerations.
- Carbon steel
- Best for high-heat cooking, wok work, and cooks willing to maintain seasoning. The Made In set includes both a carbon-steel frying pan and a wok. Carbon steel can be highly capable on induction, but it is not maintenance-free and should be dried and cared for according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Enameled cast iron
- Best for heat retention, braising, stews, and baking. Le Creuset provides the strongest example in this lineup. It does not require seasoning, but it is heavy and slower to respond to temperature changes.
How to choose an induction cookware set
- Confirm the exact model. Look for an induction symbol or explicit induction compatibility on the product page. Do not assume every item in a brand family works on induction.
- Check the base. Use the magnet test as a preliminary check, then inspect whether the base is broad, flat, and appropriate for your cooktop’s burner sizes.
- Count actual vessels. A 22-piece set may include lids, protectors, or accessories. Write down the number of skillets, saucepans, sauté pans, stockpots, and specialty pans you will actually use.
- Choose the care routine honestly. Dishwasher-safe does not always mean dishwasher-recommended. Hestan, Circulon, and GreenPan are listed as dishwasher-safe; Tramontina, Made In, and All-Clad recommend or require more careful hand-washing; Le Creuset is dishwasher-safe but hand-washing is recommended.
- Use the lowest oven rating. The cookware and lids may have different limits. GreenPan’s cookware is listed to 600°F while its lids are listed to 425°F; do not use the higher number with the lid attached.
- Consider weight and handling. Cast iron and five-ply stainless steel can retain heat well but feel heavy. Aluminum-based nonstick is easier to lift. Handle comfort matters more when moving a full stockpot or sauté pan.
- Decide whether you need specialty pieces. Made In’s carbon-steel wok and pan are useful for a cook who will season and maintain them, but unnecessary for someone who wants a simple stainless or nonstick routine. Likewise, GreenPan’s large assortment is valuable only if you have storage and will use the extra vessels.
- Compare open-stock replacement options. Coatings eventually wear and individual lids can be lost. A brand with readily available replacement pieces may be more practical than a set whose value depends entirely on buying another complete bundle.
- Check current price and contents. Prices, promotions, colors, stock, warranties, and retailer-specific bundles change. Confirm all specifications at checkout.
Which set should you buy?
Choose Hestan NanoBond if you want the strongest premium all-round stainless-steel option and the budget is not a major constraint.
Choose Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad if you want the best balance of induction performance, useful sizes, and price.
Choose Circulon A1 if easy egg release and low-effort cleanup are your top priorities and you accept its fluoropolymer/PFAS coating disclosure.
Choose GreenPan Valencia Pro if you specifically want ceramic nonstick and a large assortment, while accepting the possibility of rim wear and the storage burden.

Prices, availability, and bundle warnings
Cookware prices are unusually changeable because retailers rotate promotions and manufacturers alter set configurations. The Hestan official page listed a direct price of $1,999.95 in the supplied product information. GreenPan’s official page displayed a suggested price of $642.99 and a limited-time price of $449.99 at the time it was checked. These should be treated as snapshots, not permanent prices or guaranteed sale offers.
Before ordering, verify the exact product name, piece count, vessel sizes, induction status, oven rating, lid rating, dishwasher guidance, warranty, and return policy. This is especially important for Le Creuset bundles, whose contents can vary by retailer or promotion.
Testing and sourcing note
Good Housekeeping’s reported evaluations considered factors including heat distribution, cooking-surface coverage, boiling speed, searing, noise, handle temperature, oven safety, and cleanup. The product specifications and coating descriptions were cross-checked against official brand information. Test results and manufacturer claims are identified as such throughout this article; they are not presented as testing performed by Bettesworth Construction.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell whether cookware will work on an induction cooktop?
Check the exact product specifications for explicit induction compatibility and use a magnet on the bottom as a preliminary screen. A magnet that sticks indicates magnetic material, but it does not guarantee even heating. The base should also be broad, flat, and suited to the size of the induction burner.
Is the Circulon A1 cookware set PFAS-free?
No. The product disclosure identifies intentionally added fluoropolymer/PFAS chemistry in the nonstick coating. The Circulon set can still be a useful easy-release option, but it should not be described as PFAS-free or non-toxic without that qualification.
Recommended Free Tools
Is GreenPan Valencia Pro independently proven to be PFAS-free?
GreenPan describes its Valencia Pro ceramic coating as PFAS-free. That is a manufacturer statement and should not be presented as an independent laboratory finding in this review. Good Housekeeping reported strong initial cooking and release performance, while also observing rim scratching over time.
Does a 22-piece cookware set contain 22 pans?
No. Piece counts commonly include lids, pan protectors, and other accessories. GreenPan’s Valencia Pro package includes multiple cooking vessels as well as lids and protectors. Compare the actual number and sizes of usable pans with your storage and cooking needs.
What is the best induction cookware set for a limited budget?
The Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad 12-Piece Set is the value recommendation. Good Housekeeping reported excellent heat-distribution and steak-browning scores from its 10-inch skillet, along with good heft, durable construction, comfortable handles, and a useful range of vessels. Its main compromises are high-heat discoloration, more difficult cleanup, and a recommendation to hand-wash.
The Bottom Line
For most buyers, the Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad is the sensible starting point, while the Hestan NanoBond is the premium upgrade. Choose nonstick, ceramic, mixed-material, five-ply, or enameled cast iron only when that material matches the way you actually cook. Before buying any set, verify the exact induction base, flat cooking surface, real vessel count, care instructions, and current bundle contents.
