The best nursery chair depends on how you plan to use it. For an all-purpose power recliner, the Babyletto Kiwi is the strongest starting point; the DaVinci Piper is the budget manual pick; the DaVinci Penny is the practical choice for stain-resistant upholstery; the DaVinci Suzy Flex is the most adjustable-support option; and the West Elm Haven stands out when a higher listed weight capacity matters. If you do not want a recliner, consider the Delta Children Adley, West Elm Harmony, or Crate & Barrel Milo.

This is a curated buying guide, not a lab-tested ranking. The recommendations below are based on documented motion types, reclining methods, dimensions, material or certification claims, listed prices at research time, and likely use beyond the nursery. No chair is objectively safest, quietest, most comfortable, or right for every body type. A nursery glider or rocker is caregiver furniture—not an infant sleep surface.

Quick shopping shortcut: If you will feed or soothe at night and want to change position without standing, begin with the Kiwi, Suzy Electronic, Haven, or another power model. If you want simplicity and no outlet near the chair, start with the Piper, Penny, Suzy Flex, Delta Adley, Harmony, or Milo. If you are comparing a nursery glider recliner, check the exact model rather than assuming that every chair in a collection has the same dimensions, certification, fabric, or mechanism.

How to choose the right nursery chair

1. Decide whether you want a glider, rocker, swivel, or recliner

A traditional rocking chair typically moves on curved runners in an arc. A glider travels forward and backward on a mechanism, usually with a shorter, more controlled path. A swivel glider adds side-to-side rotation, which can let you turn toward a side table, crib, or another caregiver without moving the chair.

Product names are not perfectly standardized. For example, Delta calls the Adley a “glider swivel rocker,” while the Babyletto, DaVinci, Pottery Barn Kids, West Elm, and Monte models use combinations of “glider,” “swivel,” and “recliner.” Look at the stated motion—not just the title. If you want a conventional non-reclining experience, compare a nursery rocking chair with the Delta Adley, West Elm Harmony, or Milo, and confirm whether the base actually rocks, glides, swivels, or combines those movements.

Reclining is useful for longer feeding or soothing sessions, but it adds weight, moving parts, and space requirements. A non-reclining chair is mechanically simpler and may be easier to place in a bedroom or later living space. The trade-off is that you cannot raise your legs or change your back angle in the chair itself.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Choose manual or power reclining

Manual recline Power recline
No electrical connection is required. An outlet is required and the cord needs a deliberate route.
Usually simpler to operate and easier to place where outlets are scarce. Can be easier to adjust while holding a baby, particularly when the control is within reach.
There is no built-in USB charging unless separately provided. Some models add USB charging; Babyletto Kiwi variants and the DaVinci Suzy Electronic list USB functionality.
Leg rests and recline mechanisms still create moving gaps and pinch points. Electrical convenience does not remove the need for supervision, safe assembly, and clearance.

The Babyletto Kiwi, Kiwi Plus, Kiwi Deluxe, and DaVinci Suzy Electronic are the clearest power-recliner choices in this group. West Elm offers the Haven in manual or power configurations, so it is useful when you like the chair but have not decided whether the electrical feature is worth the trade-off. A power chair is not automatically more comfortable or safer; it is simply easier to adjust for some users.

For a power chair, keep the plug and cord away from walkways and the child’s reach. Do not use an extension arrangement that conflicts with the manufacturer’s instructions. Optional baby-proof outlet covers or a recliner cord management product may help with a particular room layout, but they are accessories—not substitutes for the chair’s assembly, electrical, and clearance instructions.

3. Measure the room, the delivery route, and the fully reclined chair

Measure more than the spot where the chair will sit. Record:

  • the chair’s assembled width, height, and upright depth;
  • the depth with the footrest and back fully extended;
  • the required distance from the wall;
  • doorways, hallways, stair turns, elevators, and the final room entrance;
  • the location of outlets and whether the cord will cross a walking path;
  • space for a side table, lamp, nursing pillow, or ottoman.

The West Elm Haven is listed at 31 inches wide, 36.5 inches deep, and 38 inches high, with a 500-pound weight capacity. Those numbers make it easier to plan, but they do not mean every Haven configuration or every chair will occupy the same space. As another example, the Pottery Barn Kids Charleston specification calls for 25 inches of wall clearance when fully reclined. That clearance is model-specific; do not apply it to the Comfort, Wingback, Paxton, or another recliner without checking its own instructions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Place the chair on a flat, even surface. Pottery Barn Kids explicitly includes that instruction for the Charleston, and it is sensible to follow the equivalent direction for any model. A chair that fits on paper can still be impractical if the back hits a wall, the leg rest blocks a doorway, or delivery personnel cannot get it through the entrance.

4. Match the support features to your body and routine

For nighttime feeding, small fit details can matter more than decorative style. Look for a back height that supports your upper back, arms that let you hold a baby without shrugging, and controls that are reachable while seated. Adjustable headrests and armrests can make it easier to change position between users, although they do not guarantee comfort.

  • DaVinci Suzy Flex: lists adjustable armrests and an adjustable headrest, plus a leg rest.
  • Babyletto Kiwi Plus: lists a power-adjustable headrest and USB port in addition to power recline.
  • Crate & Barrel Milo: includes a lumbar pillow.
  • DaVinci Piper: includes a pop-up leg rest but uses a manual recline.
  • DaVinci Penny: has a listed 300-pound maximum weight, which is useful information for planning but should not be treated as a comfort or fit guarantee.

If two adults will use the chair, compare the manufacturer’s seat dimensions and weight rating rather than relying on photographs. If possible, sit in the exact model or confirm the retailer’s return policy before ordering a large upholstered chair.

5. Treat upholstery claims as helpful—not magical

Spit-up, milk, snacks, pets, and dusty moving parts make cleanability important. DaVinci specifically describes the Penny’s fabric as water-repellent and stain-resistant. That is a practical advantage, but “stain-resistant” does not mean stain-proof. Follow the care label and clean spills promptly.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Leather may be appealing for wipeability and a more grown-up look; the Pottery Barn Kids Paxton is described as a top-grain leather swivel glider recliner. Fabric offers more colors and textures, and premium models such as the Pottery Barn Kids Comfort and West Elm chairs offer multiple upholstery choices. Availability varies by fabric, geography, and configuration.

A removable protector can be useful if the chair will be exposed to pets or frequent spills. A washable glider chair cover or furniture protector is an accessory, not a required safety product, and it must be checked for the correct chair dimensions and for interference with the swivel, glide, recline, or footrest. A loose cover should never create a snag or moving-mechanism hazard.

For additional leg support, look for a matching or compatible nursery glider ottoman. Verify the ottoman’s height and whether its movement complements the chair. A gliding ottoman is not automatically compatible with every glider, even when the upholstery appears similar.

6. Understand certifications and material descriptions

Several chairs or collections in this guide list GREENGUARD or GREENGUARD Gold certification. In the context provided by the manufacturers and retailers, those labels refer to emissions testing or low-emitting construction. They do not establish that a chair is more comfortable, eliminate every indoor-air concern, or make the product “chemical-free” or risk-free.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Babyletto and DaVinci also list features such as FSC-certified wood and CertiPUR-US foam on applicable products or collections. The Milo product description refers to a kiln-dried hardwood frame and flame-retardant-free foams. These are useful specification differences, but they should not be converted into claims that one chair is universally healthier or safer. Confirm that the claim applies to the exact model and configuration you are buying.

7. Consider life after the nursery

A chair that can move to a bedroom, reading corner, guest room, or living room may provide better long-term value than one styled only for a nursery. That is a use-case inference from the versatile designs and upholstery choices described by the brands, not an independently verified durability result.

For that reason, neutral upholstery, a conventional silhouette, a replaceable or separately available ottoman, and a manual mechanism may matter more than nursery-themed detailing. Conversely, if you expect to use the chair almost exclusively for nighttime feeds, a power recline, USB port, adjustable headrest, and easy-to-reach control may justify a higher price.

Individual recommendations

1. Babyletto Kiwi Electronic Recliner and Swivel Glider: best-known all-round power option

The Kiwi combines the three movements many parents want in one chair: swivel, forward-and-back gliding, and electronic reclining. Babyletto also lists USB functionality, FSC-certified wood, CertiPUR-US foam, and GREENGUARD Gold certification across its nursery-seating collection.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why consider it: It is a broad-feature choice for buyers who want to rotate toward a table, glide while holding a baby, and recline without operating a manual lever. The USB feature can reduce the need to reach for a distant charger.

Watch-outs: The power cord adds placement constraints, and collection-level specifications should not be assumed to apply identically to every current Kiwi configuration. Confirm the exact upholstery, dimensions, certification, warranty, and return terms before purchase.

2. Babyletto Kiwi Plus: best for extra head and neck adjustment

The Kiwi Plus adds a power-adjustable headrest and USB port to the swivel, glide, and power-recline format. That makes it the logical Kiwi variant for someone who expects to spend long periods seated and wants more control over upper-body positioning.

Why consider it: The adjustable headrest may be useful when two caregivers have different preferred positions or when you want more support while reclined.

Watch-outs: An adjustable headrest is not a promise of universal comfort. Check the seat depth, arm height, fully reclined footprint, and current configuration rather than choosing solely on the feature list.

3. Babyletto Kiwi Deluxe: luxury feature pick

The Kiwi Deluxe is the feature-heavy version in this shortlist. Babyletto lists heat and massage in addition to the Kiwi family’s swivel, glide, and power-recline format.

Why consider it: Heat and massage may appeal to buyers who want the chair to function as a relaxation seat after the nursery stage.

Watch-outs: The extra functions increase both price and complexity. Frame details, fabric, dimensions, and availability can change, so confirm the current product page before publication or purchase. Heat and massage are comfort features, not infant-care or sleep-safety features.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. DaVinci Piper: best budget manual recliner

At a listed $349 at research time, the Piper is the least expensive clearly specified manual recliner in this group. DaVinci lists a 360-degree swivel, forward-and-back gliding, a pop-up leg rest, and concealed reclining mechanisms.

Why consider it: It delivers the core swivel-glider-recliner format without requiring an electrical connection. That is useful in a room where an outlet is inconvenient or where you prefer a simpler control system.

Watch-outs: Manual operation is not the same as no moving-part risk. The footrest and recline mechanism still require careful assembly and supervised use. Verify current stock, upholstery, seat dimensions, and weight rating.

5. DaVinci Penny: best-value stain-resistant option

The Penny combines a 360-degree swivel, forward-and-back glide, hidden recline mechanism, and water-repellent, stain-resistant fabric. Its listed dimensions are 35.5 inches wide by 30 inches deep by 38 inches high, and its maximum listed weight is 300 pounds.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why consider it: The upholstery claim directly addresses common nursery messes, while the concealed mechanism gives it a less visibly mechanical look. The dimensions and listed weight rating also make it easier to screen for room and user fit.

Watch-outs: Water-repellent is not waterproof, and stain-resistant is not stain-proof. Use the care instructions; do not assume a generic slipcover will fit without interfering with the moving base or recline function.

6. DaVinci Suzy Flex: best adjustable-support option

The Suzy Flex lists adjustable armrests, an adjustable headrest, 360-degree swivel, forward-and-back gliding, a leg rest, GREENGUARD Gold, CertiPUR-US foam, and FSC-certified wood. Its listed price was $474 at research time.

Why consider it: It is the most adjustment-focused manual chair in the shortlist. The arm and headrest adjustments may help a household with multiple caregivers or anyone who is particular about upper-body support.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Watch-outs: More adjustment points mean more things to set correctly. Try the settings with a pillow or feeding support if you can, and confirm the exact certification and upholstery for the current model.

7. DaVinci Suzy Electronic: best lower-priced power option

The Suzy Electronic lists automatic reclining, swivel motion, a high pillowback, and a USB port. Its listed price was $599 at research time, positioning it below many premium power recliners in the shortlist.

Why consider it: It offers a straightforward route into powered reclining without moving to the highest price tier. The high pillowback and USB port may suit users who want upper-back support and convenient charging.

Watch-outs: Confirm whether the current model glides as well as swivels, how much wall clearance it needs, and where the cord exits. The product page should control over any assumption based on the broader Suzy family.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

8. Delta Children Adley: best straightforward non-reclining glider/rocker candidate

Delta describes the Adley as providing 360-degree gliding and swiveling. It is the most direct choice here for someone who wants a moving nursery chair without a reclining function. Delta also states that its gliders undergo rigorous testing.

Why consider it: The design keeps the feature set focused on motion rather than adding a leg rest, motor, or reclining mechanism.

Storkcraft Premium Hoop Glider & Ottoman, Black with Gray
  • GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFIED FOR CLEANER INDOOR AIR: The Storkcraft Hoop Glider & Ottoman is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, meaning it has been screened for over 10,000 chemicals and VOCs known to pollute indoor air, contributing to cleaner, healthier air
  • SOLID WOOD CRAFTSMANSHIP, LONG-LASTING DURABILITY: Our smooth-gliding, award-winning, GREENGUARD Gold Certified, all-in-one nursery glider & ottoman set is quality-crafted from solid wood, making it the perfect addition to your nursery or home

  • PRODUCT DIMENSIONS: Maximum recommended weight (250 pounds); Width (29.92 in); Height (39.96 in); Depth (30.31 in); Seat width (17.32 in); Seat depth (18.7 in); Seat height (17.5 in); Ottoman width (19.69 in); Ottoman height (14.37 in); Ottoman depth (15.35 in)
  • MULTI-AWARD-WINNING NURSERY GLIDER & OTTOMAN SET: A repeat winner and top-rated nursery glider & ottoman set, the Hoop is quality-crafted by Storkcraft – makers of quality nursery and kids bedroom furniture, since 1945; Easy assembly required; 1-year limited warranty

Watch-outs: Delta’s testing statement is a manufacturer claim, not an independent comparative result. Confirm the exact base movement, assembled dimensions, upholstery care, and current weight rating.

9. Pottery Barn Kids Comfort: best classic-style premium recliner

The Comfort Swivel Glider Recliner is described as having gentle rhythmic movement, a swivel base, quiet reclining, and an easy-to-reach mechanism. Pottery Barn Kids also lists GREENGUARD Gold certification and multiple upholstery choices.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why consider it: It combines a more traditional upholstered appearance with the practical movements of a swivel glider recliner. The reachable mechanism is especially relevant if you expect to adjust the chair while holding a baby.

Watch-outs: “Quiet” is a retailer or manufacturer description here, not an independently measured noise result. Check the full reclined depth, wall clearance, delivery route, and fabric-specific price.

10. Pottery Barn Kids Wingback: best traditional wingback design

The Wingback Swivel Glider Recliner has a winged back, rolled arms, and GREENGUARD Gold certification. Its listed price began at approximately $1,149.99 at research time.

Why consider it: The silhouette is better suited to buyers who want a nursery chair that resembles a conventional accent chair and can transition visually to another room.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Watch-outs: Rolled arms and a wingback profile affect how easy it is to hold a pillow, reach controls, or sit beside another person. Check the interior seat measurements rather than judging fit from the overall appearance.

11. Pottery Barn Kids Paxton: best leather option

The Paxton is described as a top-grain leather swivel glider recliner with a pinewood frame and easy-to-reach reclining mechanisms.

Why consider it: It offers a more grown-up material and appearance than many nursery-specific fabric chairs, making it a plausible choice for a bedroom or living room after the nursery years.

Watch-outs: Leather care requirements, color variation, and current availability should be confirmed for the exact hide and finish. A leather surface is not automatically spill-proof or maintenance-free.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

12. West Elm Carlo: best modern mid-premium option

West Elm lists a kiln-dried solid and engineered hardwood frame, no-sag sinuous springs, and a metal base that reclines, swivels, and glides. The listed price range was $999–$1,199. West Elm describes the one-hand mechanism as virtually silent and easy to use, and lists GREENGUARD certification.

Why consider it: The modern shape and multi-directional base make it a strong fit for a contemporary nursery or a chair that will later move into a living space.

Watch-outs: “Virtually silent” is a product description, not a lab comparison. Verify whether the upholstery, frame, and certification apply to the exact configuration, and measure the fully reclined chair before ordering.

13. West Elm Haven: best configuration flexibility and listed capacity

The Haven is available with manual or power reclining and a range of upholstery options. It swivels, glides, and reclines; the power configuration includes a USB port. West Elm lists GREENGUARD Gold certification and a 500-pound weight capacity. The listed dimensions are 31 inches wide by 36.5 inches deep by 38 inches high.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why consider it: The manual-versus-power choice lets you match the chair to the room and your operating preference, while the listed capacity is higher than the 300-pound figure listed for the DaVinci Penny.

Watch-outs: Capacity, dimensions, and features can vary by configuration. Do not infer that a higher weight rating guarantees comfort for every body type, or that the chair will fit a small room merely because its width is specified.

14. West Elm Harmony: best non-reclining statement glider

The Harmony is identified in West Elm’s nursery-chair guide as a swivel glider, and the contract-grade collection lists it in multiple upholstery options and current price bands. It is a non-reclining choice.

Why consider it: It focuses on a polished, statement-chair appearance and swivel-glider movement without adding a reclining mechanism.

Why consider it: It is the clearest luxury non-reclining option for buyers who prioritize a refined appearance, lumbar support, and a chair that can plausibly remain in the home after the nursery stage.

Safety and responsible use

A glider is for the caregiver—not for unattended infant sleep

HealthyChildren.org, the American Academy of Pediatrics’ parent resource, lists a rocking chair or glider as a useful nursery addition for soothing a baby while you are holding the baby. That is different from using the chair as a sleep product. CPSC safe-sleep guidance emphasizes a firm, flat crib, bassinet, or play yard for infant sleep.

Do not leave an infant unattended in an adult glider, recliner, or rocking chair, even if the baby appears settled. If you fall asleep while holding the baby, move the baby to the appropriate firm, flat sleep surface as soon as you wake. Keep loose pillows, blankets, and other soft items out of the infant’s sleep space.

Inspect the moving mechanism

  • Keep fingers, toes, clothing, blankets, toys, and the baby’s limbs away from gaps around the recliner, leg rest, swivel base, and footrest.
  • Operate the chair slowly during assembly and the first few uses so you can identify pinch, crush, or entrapment points.
  • Do not allow a child to play underneath a reclined chair or near an exposed mechanism.
  • Stop using the chair if it rocks unevenly, binds, tips, makes a new grinding sound, or has loose hardware.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for assembly, maximum weight, wall clearance, floor surface, and cleaning.

Older glider-recliner recalls show why exposed moving gaps can present finger-crushing or entrapment hazards. A chair with a concealed mechanism is not a reason to ignore the instructions or let a child explore underneath it.

Check recalls before buying used or open-box furniture

Check the model name, manufacturer, production date, labels, hardware, and current recall status before buying used or open-box furniture. The dossier includes a March 2026 CPSC warning about NIOIIKIT rocking chairs: the agency reported 27 collapse reports and four injuries and said the chairs had been sold through Amazon and other marketplaces. That warning concerns a specific brand and product group; it is not evidence that all nursery gliders or rocking chairs are unsafe.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not buy a used chair if the identification label is missing, the seller cannot provide the model and date, the frame is damaged, replacement hardware is unavailable, or the chair’s movement cannot be checked safely.

Plan cords and clearance on power models

Route power cords away from walkways and the child’s reach, keep the plug accessible enough to disconnect when necessary, and do not place the chair where the cord can be caught by the swivel or recline mechanism. Assemble the chair on a flat, even surface and leave the model-specific wall clearance recommended by the manufacturer. USB charging is convenient, but it does not change the need for electrical and cord safety.

Which chair should you buy?

  • You want the broadest feature set: Start with the Babyletto Kiwi. It combines swivel, glide, power recline, and USB functionality.
  • You want adjustable head and arm support: Choose the DaVinci Suzy Flex for manual operation or the Babyletto Kiwi Plus for a power-adjustable headrest.
  • You want a manual chair under about $500: Compare the DaVinci Piper at a listed $349 and Suzy Flex at a listed $474. The Piper emphasizes basic value; the Suzy Flex adds adjustable armrests and headrest.
  • You are worried about spills: The DaVinci Penny has the clearest documented water-repellent and stain-resistant fabric claim. Still use the care instructions and do not call it stain-proof.
  • You want powered reclining at a lower listed price: The DaVinci Suzy Electronic was listed at $599 and includes a USB port. Verify current features and clearance.
  • You do not want to recline: Consider the Delta Adley, West Elm Harmony, or Crate & Barrel Milo. Choose among them based on actual motion, dimensions, upholstery, price, and whether the premium lumbar pillow or design is worth it.
  • You want a traditional look: The Pottery Barn Kids Wingback has a winged back and rolled arms; the Comfort offers a classic-style recliner with multiple upholstery options.
  • You want leather: The Pottery Barn Kids Paxton is the leather-specific pick in this group.
  • You need a higher listed capacity: The West Elm Haven lists a 500-pound capacity. Confirm that the rating applies to the exact version and remember that capacity is not a substitute for checking seat fit.
  • You want a premium chair that can leave the nursery: Look at the West Elm Carlo, Pottery Barn Kids Paxton or Comfort, and Crate & Barrel Milo. Compare upholstery and delivery costs as carefully as the chair price.

What to verify before clicking Buy

  1. Confirm the exact model name, configuration, and current price.
  2. Measure the chair upright and fully reclined, including wall clearance.
  3. Measure every doorway, hall, stair turn, and elevator on the delivery route.
  4. Check seat dimensions, maximum weight, and the likely fit of every caregiver.
  5. Confirm whether the chair swivels, glides, rocks, reclines, or combines those motions.
  6. For power models, identify the outlet, cord route, USB location, and any electrical instructions.
  7. Read the upholstery care instructions and verify whether the fabric or leather is available in the chosen configuration.
  8. Check warranty coverage, delivery type, assembly responsibility, return fees, and restocking terms.
  9. Look up current recall information, especially for used, open-box, marketplace, or discontinued furniture.
  10. Before ordering, check the manufacturer listing for the final dimensions, certification claims, capacity, and installation instructions.

One additional price reference illustrates the range: Nursery Works’ Sunday was listed at $1,399 at research time, while the Crate & Barrel Milo was listed at $1,699. Those figures are useful for setting expectations, but neither price should be treated as current until verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a glider safer than a traditional rocking chair?

Neither category is automatically safer. A glider and a rocker both require stable placement, correct assembly, supervision around moving parts, and protection against finger-crushing or entrapment hazards. Choose based on the motion you prefer and follow the specific manufacturer instructions.

Can a baby sleep in a nursery recliner or glider?

No. An adult recliner, glider, or rocking chair is caregiver furniture, not an infant sleep product. Use a firm, flat crib, bassinet, or play yard for infant sleep, and do not leave a baby unattended in the chair.

Is a power nursery recliner worth the extra cost?

It can be worthwhile if you expect to adjust your position while holding a baby or want features such as USB charging. The trade-offs are a higher price, dependence on an outlet, cord management, and additional moving or electrical components. A manual chair may be a better fit for a simpler room setup.

How much wall clearance does a nursery recliner need?

There is no universal clearance number. It varies by model and configuration. For example, the Pottery Barn Kids Charleston specification lists 25 inches when fully reclined, but that figure should not be applied to another chair. Measure the exact model and follow its installation instructions.

Are stain-resistant nursery chairs waterproof?

No. DaVinci describes the Penny’s fabric as water-repellent and stain-resistant, but that does not mean waterproof or stain-proof. Follow the care label, clean spills promptly, and verify that any cover will not interfere with the chair’s moving parts.

The Bottom Line

For most buyers, start with the Babyletto Kiwi if you want a feature-rich power recliner, the DaVinci Piper if price and manual simplicity matter most, the DaVinci Penny if upholstery maintenance is a priority, or the DaVinci Suzy Flex if adjustable support is more important than power. Choose the West Elm Haven when its manual/power flexibility and listed 500-pound capacity fit your needs. For a non-reclining chair, compare the Delta Adley, West Elm Harmony, and Crate & Barrel Milo. Whichever model you choose, measure the fully reclined footprint, verify the exact specifications and recall status, and never use the chair as an unattended infant sleep surface.
