Its account, published July 21, 2026, describes a circuit that separates 40–180 mm oversize, reduces and shapes that material, then screens it into multiple saleable aggregate streams. Terex does not publish throughput, output gradations or independently measured operating results.
How the Iceland sea-gravel plant works
Terex MPS describes a combined Terex MPS and Terex Washing Systems installation, rather than a single-crusher setup. The reported oversize stream passes through two reduction loops: a cone-crushing circuit and a separate vertical-shaft impact (VSI) shaping circuit.

- Wash and separate oversize. The Terex Washing Systems wash plant separates material measuring 40–180 mm from the feed. That range describes the separated oversize, not the plant’s capacity or throughput.
- Feed the cone crusher. The oversize moves into a Terex MSF24 Modular Surge Bin and then through a Simplicity variable-speed pan feeder to a Terex TG220 Bronze Bushing Cone Crusher.
- Classify and recirculate cone product. A Terex Washing Systems 16-foot by 5-foot, two-deck dry screen classifies the crushed material. Material needing further reduction returns through the closed circuit.
- Shape aggregate in the VSI loop. Correctly sized material feeds a Canica MV2000 Modular VSI fitted with a five-port rotor in a rock-on-rock configuration. A second screening stage classifies the VSI product and returns oversize to the VSI.
- Make final product streams. A Terex MHS6203 Modular Horizontal Screen performs the final classification into multiple saleable aggregate products. Terex says fine material is stockpiled for load-out.
The sequence separates size reduction from shaping: the cone stage reduces oversize, while the VSI stage shapes correctly sized material and recirculates its own oversize. The final screen sorts the resulting material into products for sale.

What is reported—and what the figures mean

Neither figure is a production statistic. Terex’s July 21, 2026 account does not state throughput, output volume, product yield, finished gradations, uptime, costs, water or energy consumption, or measured efficiency. It also provides no measured quality results. The article therefore describes the equipment and process, but does not establish how much the plant produces or quantify its performance.

What is known about the site and claims
The manufacturer identifies the operation only as a sea-gravel site in Iceland; it does not name the operator or give a more precise location. Terex characterizes the plant as engineered for productivity, consistent product quality and operational efficiency. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independently reported or quantified findings.
Terex Washing Systems’ case-study index also lists a separate “Sand Recovery in Iceland” entry in its dredged sand/recycling category. The index does not establish that it is the same operation or project, so the two listings should not be treated as connected.
