Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to accelerate construction at four public hospital projects and plan staffing and equipment ahead of their completion. The October 3, 2026 review covered TIMS hospitals in LB Nagar and Alwal, Warangal Super Speciality Hospital and the new Osmania General Hospital (OGH). It did not announce opening dates or project-by-project construction progress.
Which hospital projects are covered?
The October 3 review included these four projects:
- Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), LB Nagar
- TIMS, Alwal
- Warangal Super Speciality Hospital
- The new Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad
The Chief Minister’s Office review focused on moving construction forward and preparing for services once each facility becomes operational. The reports do not provide individual construction percentages or confirmed opening dates, so the direction to expedite work should not be read as a completion schedule. The Hindu and The Times of India reported on the review.
What must be ready before the hospitals open?
Doctors and support staff
Revanth Reddy asked Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju to identify staffing requirements, including doctors and support personnel, and begin recruitment planning ahead of completion. The aim is to avoid a gap between finished construction and the ability to provide care; the reports do not say that recruitment has been completed.
Equipment and services
Officials also reviewed procurement of advanced medical equipment and arrangements for comprehensive services. No equipment models, suppliers or completed procurement decisions were named. The Chief Minister was quoted by The Times of India as saying: “There should be no shortage of staff by the time the hospitals are completed. Procure state-of-the-art medical equipment so that comprehensive healthcare services can be made available immediately after the facilities become operational.” The Times of India report

How does the earlier Warangal direction differ?
Warangal had already been the subject of a separate review on September 21, 2026. In that official release, the Chief Minister expressed concern about delays despite funds released through the Green Channel mechanism. He ordered round-the-clock work for the next 30 days and called for a time-bound schedule, field monitoring, clear responsibility for project components and daily supervision by the district collector.
That earlier direction also called for outpatient services at Warangal to begin along the lines of MCR-TIMS Sanathnagar, and for staff-quarter construction at Sanathnagar TIMS to be advanced. - No opening date is confirmed for any of the four projects.
- No project-by-project construction progress figures are included in the October 3 coverage.

The October 3 announcement is therefore a construction and readiness directive, not a notice that the hospitals are open or that services have begun.
