The Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 is a feature-rich cordless stick vacuum whose standout advantage is practical reach: its flex tube bends to clean under low furniture, while floor detection adjusts suction automatically. Its generous tool kit and long Eco-mode claim add appeal, but independent reviewers found that strong suction does not guarantee top-tier pickup on every surface. Before using or buying one in the UK, check the model and batch against Tefal’s battery-recall instructions: specified pre-December-2024 units are affected.
Is the Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 worth buying?
It is worth considering if you want a cordless vacuum with a bendable wand, automatic floor adjustment and a broad set of tools for upholstery, pet hair and tighter spaces. The UK Pet & Car configuration documented by Tefal is model TY99F2GO. Its claimed suction is high, but reviews suggest the machine is not a clear all-surface cleaning leader: pickup varied with debris and flooring, and its handling and short high-power runtime are meaningful compromises.
There is also a more urgent ownership consideration than performance: the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) recall includes specified X-Force 15.60 units, including TY99F2GO. Check your individual unit’s status before use or purchase; not every 15.60 is established as affected.
What do you get with the TY99F2GO?
Tefal UK lists the TY99F2GO as a 230 Air Watt cordless vacuum with a removable 32.4 V lithium-ion battery, a 0.9 L dust container, washable filters, an LED display, automatic floor-sensitive power adjustment and a flex tube. Tefal specifies a three-hour recharge time and a maximum sound level of 84 dB(A). These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Tefal’s TY99F2GO product page

That range supports more than routine floor cleaning: the smaller tools are intended for furniture, pet areas and vehicle interiors. Bundle contents vary by model and region, so check the precise model code and listing rather than assuming every product called “X-Force Flex 15.60” includes the same kit. Tefal also lists other references, including TY99F1WO and TY99G1WO.
How long does the battery last in real use?
Tefal’s “up to 1 hour 20 minutes” figure applies to handheld use in Eco position; it is not a promise of 80 minutes of cleaning with the floor head or in higher-power modes. Tefal’s runtime table gives up to five minutes in Boost. Tefal’s runtime specifications

Independent observations broadly support long Eco use while showing how sharply runtime falls as power rises. Expert Reviews recorded more than 70 minutes in Eco and less than six minutes at the highest setting in its 2024 test. Tech Advisor reported just under 70 minutes on average in Eco, around half an hour in Eco+, and roughly five minutes in Boost in its 2025 review. These are outlet-specific observations, not a guarantee for every home, battery condition or cleaning setup. Expert Reviews, 1 July 2024; Tech Advisor, 14 March 2025
For a larger clean, the practical question is how often you need stronger suction and whether you can split the work between charges. Eco is the mode associated with the long headline figure; Boost is for brief high-power use, not extended whole-home cleaning. Tefal specifies a three-hour recharge from depleted, and Tech Advisor also observed a three-hour charge time.

How well does it clean floors and pet hair?
The 230 Air Watt figure is Tefal’s maximum suction claim, not an independent cleaning score. In Expert Reviews’ 2024 measurements, suction pressure reached 31.5 kPa before the Tefal cut out; the reviewer measured 31 kPa for the Dyson Gen5detect in that particular test. The same review cautioned that suction alone does not describe cleaning performance. Its overall assessment was above average, but behind its strongest rivals, including the Dyson Gen5detect and Shark Stratos IZ400UKT. Expert Reviews’ test and comparison
Results depended on the surface and debris. Expert Reviews found the brush could pulverize and scatter cereal, leave traces of flour, and struggle to lift hair from hard-floor brush bristles. In its specific hard-floor pet-hair test, however, 98% of the hair transferred from the floor into the collection bin. That result applies to its test setup; it should not be read as a universal pickup rate for different hair, floors or homes. The reviewer also noted the absence of a specialist soft roller for hard floors.

Automatic floor detection is convenient, but it may not suit every rug or carpet. Expert Reviews found Auto could feel too powerful on carpet, increasing resistance and moving light mats. It also criticized the machine’s tangling prevention. If you have delicate lightweight rugs or prioritize fine-debris pickup on hard floors, those observations are relevant trade-offs rather than reasons to rely on the suction figure alone.
Does the flex tube make it easier to clean under furniture?
The flex joint is one of the vacuum’s clearest practical strengths. Bending the wand lets the floor head reach under low furniture without requiring the user to crouch as far or reposition as often. Tech Advisor praised the flex joint and floor detection, and considered the vacuum a likely fit for small-to-medium homes with mixed hard flooring and carpet, especially where low furniture is common. The trade-off is handling. Expert Reviews lists the assembled configuration at 3.4 kg and the handheld unit at 2.1 kg, describing the assembled vacuum as top-heavy. Tech Advisor likewise noted that the handheld machine will not stand unsupported and that assembly involves multiple parts. The detachable tools broaden its uses, but frequent switching and carrying the handheld unit may matter if you prefer a lighter, simpler vacuum.

In the UK, the OPSS recall notice PSD 2511-0016 names Tefal X-Force 14.60 and X-Force 15.60 models, including TY99F2GO, among affected products. It concerns specified handheld lithium-ion vacuum cleaners manufactured before December 2024. A defect in a battery-pack component can cause thermal runaway while the vacuum is in use, presenting a fire risk. The manufacturer initiated a replacement battery-pack programme for products covered by the notice. The recall does not establish that every 15.60 unit is affected. UK OPSS Product Recall PSD 2511-0016
- Identify the exact product. Check the model label on your vacuum and compare the model, barcode and batch identifiers with the OPSS notice.
- Follow Tefal’s official recall process. Use the current instructions on Tefal’s recall page to confirm whether your unit is included and what remedy applies.
- Do not use a unit confirmed as affected. Follow Tefal’s instructions for the official replacement battery-pack programme. Do not treat a separately purchased battery as a substitute for the manufacturer’s remedy.
- For a purchase, verify status before relying on the listing. Match the exact model and batch information, and confirm recall status with Tefal rather than assuming a new or second-hand listing is unaffected.
Outside the UK, the cited OPSS notice establishes the UK recall scope; it does not establish the recall status or remedy in every country. Check the relevant local product-safety authority and Tefal support for your region.
Who is this vacuum best suited to?
- Consider it if you value the bendable wand, automatic power adjustment and included tools for low furniture, upholstery, pets or car interiors, and your cleaning routine can make good use of Eco mode.
- Compare alternatives carefully if you prioritize consistent pickup of fine dust and larger debris across hard floors and carpet, a dedicated hard-floor soft roller, lighter handheld handling, or long cleaning sessions in a high-power mode.
- Do not use or buy without checking first if the unit may fall within the UK recall scope. Confirm its exact model and batch through the official process.
Tefal says the filtration system captures at least 99.9% of particles; that manufacturer statement is not evidence of a medical benefit or a guarantee of allergy prevention. Filter reference ZR009007 is listed by Tefal, but buyers should verify compatibility with their exact variant. Tefal TY99F2GO specifications
