Tavion has started construction on its first reported Polish battery energy storage park, a project in Bydgoszcz rated at 20 MW of grid connection and 40 MWh of installed storage. Blackridge Research reported the start on October 12, 2026, and said the company is targeting grid connection in 2027. That date is a target, not confirmation that the park will be connected on schedule.
What is being built in Bydgoszcz?
The project is in Bydgoszcz, in Poland’s Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Blackridge Research’s October 12, 2026 report describes it as Tavion’s first Polish battery park and says construction had begun by the time of publication. The account is a secondary industry-news report; no company, grid-operator, contractor or permitting announcement independently confirming the project details was identified in the cited material.

The reported figures describe two different aspects of the installation:

- 20 MW: the stated grid-connection rating, a measure of power.
- 40 MWh: the stated installed storage capacity, a measure of energy.
- Two hours: the duration implied by 40 MWh divided by 20 MW, assuming discharge at that full power.
The two-hour figure is a ratio of the reported energy and power ratings, not a guarantee of usable output or operating performance. The report does not give further technical specifications such as battery chemistry, usable capacity, efficiency or degradation assumptions.

Who is involved in delivery?
Blackridge names four organizations in connection with the Bydgoszcz site and assigns them these roles:
- Enea Operator: grid operator.
- Esix Polska: balance-of-plant contractor.
- HyperStrong: battery energy storage system (BESS) integrator.
- Ayesa: owner’s engineer.
The report says Tavion’s parks would connect to Enea Operator’s distribution grid. It also relays the company’s account that land, grid connection and permits were secured before financing closed. Those readiness details are attributed to Tavion through Blackridge, rather than independently documented in the report.

What is the reported schedule?
Tavion Country Head Poland Katarzyna Suchcicka was reported as saying the Bydgoszcz project is aiming for grid connection in 2027. A target date does not establish that construction, commissioning or grid connection has been completed.
The October 12 report also forecast that a second park in Luboń would break ground within two weeks, with a third project to follow. That was a forward-looking expectation at publication, not evidence that either subsequent milestone occurred. The report says Tavion launched six months earlier, but the available account does not provide a separately verified launch date.

What do the portfolio and financing figures mean?
Blackridge reports that Tavion raised 56 million in equity and debt in September. The reviewed report text does not state the currency, so the figure cannot be safely interpreted as a specific currency amount.
The same report describes 184 MW of Tavion’s Polish portfolio as at or near ready-to-build and a wider Polish pipeline of 1.7 GW. It provides no project-by-project breakdown or primary documentation for those totals. They are portfolio and pipeline claims—not the operating capacity of the Bydgoszcz park, nor evidence that all projects are under construction.

What is confirmed, and what remains a target?
The key distinction is between reported construction activity and future milestones. Blackridge’s October 12 account says work had started at Bydgoszcz; its 2027 connection date and the near-term Luboń start were targets or forecasts at that point. The report does not establish later progress, completion, or operation.

How to assess the project’s scale
For meaningful comparison with other storage developments, keep power and energy separate and compare projects at the same stage. Useful measures include MW, MWh, implied duration, grid-connection status and target, location and grid operator, and whether figures refer to a planned, under-construction or operating asset. A pipeline total should not be compared directly with installed or operational capacity.
