What happened to the Tapo DL100 coupon?
TP-Link announced the DL100 in the United States on May 27, 2025. Its launch announcement offered the lock for $59.99 at Amazon and Best Buy with code 10TAPOLOCK, with the offer ending June 20, 2025, or when supplies ran out. The promotion has ended. What is the Tapo DL100?
The DL100 is a keypad smart deadbolt with app-based remote access, local Bluetooth access, physical-key backup, and compatible voice-assistant controls. Tapo lists a backlit keypad, activity history, alerts, auto-lock, and decoy digits that can be entered around a real passcode. Voice commands require PIN confirmation, according to Tapo. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent performance findings.

Tapo says the lock can store up to 200 access codes, including permanent, one-time, and scheduled codes. Its published specifications list 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE 5.0. The Wi-Fi connection supports remote access through the Tapo app; Bluetooth is a local access option. Power and battery estimates
The DL100 uses four AA/LR6 batteries, included in the package, and has a USB-C emergency power port. Tapo estimates up to seven months of battery life in Wi-Fi mode or up to ten months in Bluetooth-only mode. Those are manufacturer estimates based on laboratory tests assuming 20 unlocks per day; Tapo says actual life can vary with settings, router, use, and environment.
Weather rating and deadbolt grade
Tapo lists IP54 exterior weatherproofing and BHMA Grade 3 certification for the DL100. These are published product specifications, not a guarantee of suitability for every exposure or an independent evaluation of security outcomes. The lockโs fit also depends on the existing door and deadbolt.

Will the DL100 fit your door?
Tapo says the DL100 installs on a standard deadbolt without extra holes. That general claim does not establish compatibility with every door, existing lock, or door preparation. Before buying, compare your door and deadbolt with the official installation instructions and product requirements; no inspection of a particular door or hands-on installation is represented here.
How does the DL100 compare with the Tapo DL130?
The DL130 is a relevant step-up option if biometric access or a higher listed weather-resistance rating matters. The manufacturer pages establish these differences, but do not show that one lock is categorically safer or better for every household.
