SWITCH Mobility Ltd and Adhiyamaan College of Engineering in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, have signed an MoU to establish a proposed Skill Development Centre for Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology at the college. The reported plan focuses particularly on electric commercial vehicles and practical EV skills; it does not confirm that the centre is open or enrolling students.
What the MoU proposes
The agreement is intended to connect the college’s academic setting with SWITCH Mobility’s industry expertise through a dedicated EV technology skills centre. The aim, as described in coverage of the October 5, 2026 announcement, is to build practical capabilities relevant to electric mobility and strengthen the EV workforce pipeline. These are stated aims, not reported outcomes.
ETAuto’s report quotes R G Venkataraman, Chief Commercial Officer of SWITCH Mobility, saying the company will extend technical expertise and support, with practical industrial exposure, learning and skill development included in the programme. Adhiyamaan College Principal Prof. Dr. Radhakrishnan described hands-on exposure and a practical learning environment for students.
What students may learn
The reported intended scope includes electric commercial vehicle applications and real-world EV systems, alongside several core technologies:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Battery technologies
- Charging infrastructure
- Power electronics
- Diagnostics, maintenance and service practices
- Emerging mobility solutions
These are proposed subject areas, not a published or finalized syllabus. The coverage does not specify course modules, equipment, credentials or how much hands-on time learners would receive. City Air News also reports the MoU and its EV skills focus.
What has not been announced
The available coverage does not establish an opening date, enrollment process, eligibility rules, fees, course capacity or a placement rate. It also does not say that students will receive internships or jobs. Anyone interested in participating will need to wait for details from SWITCH Mobility or Adhiyamaan College rather than assume the proposed centre is currently accepting learners.
No centre-specific trainee count, budget or measured outcome is reported. The phrase “first-of-its-kind” appears in coverage but is not supported by a defined comparison, so it should not be treated as an independently verified distinction.
