To find out whether your space heater is recalled, check the brand and exact model number on its label—and, for some products, its date code—against the official notice below. If it matches, stop using it and follow that notice’s remedy. A general heater-safety warning does not mean every heater from a named brand is recalled.
Unplug a matching heater if you can do so safely. Do not use it while you confirm eligibility or arrange a remedy. Recall instructions differ: some companies require registration and photos, while another offers a replacement. Use the notice for your exact model, not assumptions based on appearance or brand.
Which space heaters are included in current recall notices?
The recalls below cover specific models, and the Vornado VH2 recall also depends on a date code. Compare every identifier on your product with the applicable notice. Reported unit counts and incidents refer to the individual notices, not all heaters sold by those brands.

How to check whether your heater is recalled
- Find the product label. For Govee models, check the manufacturer label on the underside. For Atomi, check the product identification sticker on the bottom. For Vornado VH2, look for the silver label on the underside.
- Match the complete identifier. Compare the brand, model and any required type or date code with the table and official notice. Similar-looking products and other models from the same manufacturer may not be included.
- Stop using an exact match. Unplug it if this can be done safely, then follow the notice’s steps. Do not substitute another product’s remedy.
- Keep a record of the remedy request. Follow the manufacturer’s recall process and retain any confirmation or instructions. If the process fails, use the recall notice’s CPSC complaint link; CPSC also directs consumers to report incidents or defects through SaferProducts.gov.
What about Lakkzoom immersion water heaters?
Lakkzoom products are immersion water heaters, not room space heaters, but the CPSC heater index warns owners to stop using them immediately and dispose of units with Lakkzoom branding or model numbers 1500W, 2000W, HT1500W (also MJ-R13) or HT2000W. The index says these products were sold on Amazon and eBay from September 2022 through July 2026 and reports 235 fires. Follow the CPSC heater recall index for the warning and action.

A recall applies to a defined product or group identified by brand, model and sometimes date code. A general warning about safe heater placement or operation applies more broadly and does not establish that a particular unit is recalled. Conversely, a matching recalled unit should not be kept in service just because it appears to work normally; follow the official notice’s stop-use and remedy instructions.
